Thank you very much for your video, "Gear Review for Camino Frances (Sept/Oct 2019) | What's in My Pack | Camino de Santiago", it is very useful to me since I will be doing the route at the same time as you have done. I loved all the videos, excellent work, marking the path for those of us who come behind. Thank you again, God bless you and Good Way in life.!!!
This is perfect - exactly what I was looking for. So many folks post without stating the time of year they walked. So helpful in terms of what to pack for staying warm at this time of year (while I know temperatures and weather can change from year to year). Thank you!!
Thanks so much-I had that problem when I was researching and said “when I do my gear video, I’m going to put the time of year in my title”! 😄 I’m so glad you found it helpful! I’m naturally a cold person, lol, so I was told by many that I brought too much stuff. But it was perfect for me and super versatile! Do what works for you!! Buen Camino! 👣
Thank you so much for your wonderful and helpful videos!! I’m going to walk 9 days of the Camino Frances next year May, from Ponferrada, hoping to one day do the whole thing! I’ve started putting together some gear, as I literally can’t wait to start! Your sleeping system at first sounded a bit weird to me, but I ended up purchasing the exact same liner, and a light comforter, tried it out today at home and it’s bliss! I hate the idea of being in a tight cocoon like a sleeping bag, but this setup gives me some much space to move around! Thank you so much for that brilliant idea!!! Also for all the other advice, it’s been very helpful!!! Hugs from Germany!
I’m a year late and you’ve likely finished your Camino. I’m glad to hear the sleep system worked for you. I hope you had a wonderful journey. Buen Camino!
Thank you for the gear review video! I always wondered what pilgrims would have changed in regards to packing, post Camino. You answered in detail. Great video as always. Excited to see your next great adventure. 👟🎒
Thanks for the list and information! I'm preparing to tale my family on the camino this year. Question on your S hook, would you say a smaller sized one would work or is it best to go for a bigger one like the one you show?
Very good video - your preparation for the trip shows in how you used everything and didn't bring stuff that only saw the bottom of your pack. We'll have to watch it again as we get closer to our own Camino. The book of intentions was a very nice (and thoughtful) touch!
Loved it! I was about to cry with old couple who drove you from Zubiri to Pamplona. I'm not done with videos yet but I was curious about the gear review. Thanks and cheers from CR.
I have enjoyed watching your videos. I watched your prep and now this one solidifies everything for me. I'm still not done watching all the days of your camino but I will continue now.
Well done, Rachelle! I was supposed to start my CF on 20 April 2020, but that didn't happen... Now that Spain has reopened to Americans I'm looking to start the exact same date as you (12 September) in 2021, so the info about bugs, weather/rain, etc. is perfect for me! Just keeping my eye on the latest Delta variant in hopes that it doesn't wreak too much havoc in Spain. P.S. My late wife was Filipina, and I know all about Vicks Vapo-Rub as a cure-all for whatever ails you!
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Where did you get the water bottle clip that is attached to the carabiner? Does it fit all sizes of plastic water bottles?
Thank you! The khaki hat is the LTM6 Airflo Broad Brim Hat by Tilley. I got mine at REI but you can also check the Tilley website. My grey beanie was my husband’s and there is no brand label on it. Thanks again for watching!
Thank you so much for watching! The brand is Aureday and I got it from Amazon. Unfortunately, it seems to be unavailable right now-don’t know if it’s been discontinued or maybe you can find it somewhere else online.
Thank you for watching! I believe in my packing list video I mentioned everything was 19lbs between my pack and my crossbody bag, not including consumables like water and snacks. Then I added that one fleece in Leon.
To hang my shower kit, personal belongings, and dry clothes in the bathroom while showering. Some showers have hooks and some didn’t. I made sure to bring everything inside the stall with me for security. You can also use it to hang your pack from the side of the bed if there’s no place to put it.
Just found your blog in 2024. Very helpful. Glad you enjoyed your Camino. I hope you return someday and that your memories last a lifetime.

Thank you so much! I know I’m late in replying, but Buen Camino and thank you for your kind words. ❤️

Thanks for taking the time to review your gear after your trip.
Of course!! Sorry it took almost 2 years to upload, lol! 😅

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!! Hope it was helpful! 👣
Thanks for the great video! My first camino was from Sarria, my next will be from St. Jean, a much longer distance, so important to plan wisely!🚶♀️💜😊
How exciting!!! Happy planning and Buen Camino! It’s a fantastic journey! 👣
Thank you for a very interesting and informative video. 47 minutes flew by, and you have yourself a new subscriber
Very good review. Loved seeing your 2 books of pilgrim stamps!
Great video. Thank you.
Thank you so much for watching!!
Another great vid!
And OMG, I would have had so much anxiety if I was trying to film a video and then needed to grab breakfast and a bus!
Haha, thank you so much for watching! Luckily, I’m an early riser and still had plenty of time. 😉👍

Wow, that’s a lot of stuff to carry. I’m a guy with a history of back issues and hope to keep my load to 15lbs or less when I eventually go.
Thank you for sharing another interesting and informative video!
Thank you so much for watching! Hope some of it is useful for you!

Mark, did you go? I wanted to but will put it off again until next September.
Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Where did you get the water bottle clip that is attached to the carabiner? Does it fit all sizes of plastic water bottles?
My friend from Canada gave it to me. 😊
Great video! I like your hats, what brand is your hat and where to buy? Thank you so much🙂
Thank you! The khaki hat is the LTM6 Airflo Broad Brim Hat by Tilley. I got mine at REI but you can also check the Tilley website. My grey beanie was my husband’s and there is no brand label on it. Thanks again for watching!
Which tripod is that? I don’t see any brand mentioned. Buen Camino!
Hi, great videos. Can you share the brand of the tripod you used.
Thanks
Thank you so much for watching! The brand is Aureday and I got it from Amazon. Unfortunately, it seems to be unavailable right now-don’t know if it’s been discontinued or maybe you can find it somewhere else online.
Your shoes... How Long are the shoes compared to the length of your feet? I have bought a pair, and I am not sure if they are too big (too Long).
Great video! Any idea how much your pack weighed?
Thank you for watching! I believe in my packing list video I mentioned everything was 19lbs between my pack and my crossbody bag, not including consumables like water and snacks. Then I added that one fleece in Leon.
Thank you. Did you have any problems taking your poles on the flight there and back?
Would you please tell me the brand of the hiking shoes ?
Altra lone peak
Great video! What brand is your crossbody bag? Where did you get it from? Thanks 🙂
Thank you so much! It’s a Mossimo bag that I actually picked up in the Philippines 5+ years ago.
Rachel: what did you use the “S hook” for?
To hang my shower kit, personal belongings, and dry clothes in the bathroom while showering. Some showers have hooks and some didn’t. I made sure to bring everything inside the stall with me for security. You can also use it to hang your pack from the side of the bed if there’s no place to put it.
Checking out my late 2021 packing review video straight from the Camino :)
Hi can you tell me where you bought your tripod? Thank you😊
Amazon. Unfortunately, I checked and it’s no longer available. If I find something similar, I will link it.
Thank you! ❤️
Rachell, let me know if you received the interview file...
I did it’s perfect thank you!!!
Ha! Filipinos we love our Vicks (or bix!) for everything!
😂😂😂 True!!
