5 Types of Reverb You Should Know About

What type of reverb should you use? Does it matter? The answer is YES! Different types of reverb are used in different scenarios. For example, using a giant hall reverb on an intimate live vocal performance is probably a bad idea. It takes away from the live performance and makes it sound washed out and muddy.
Room reverbs, however, would be great for a live vocal performance. They allow you to add space without losing the clarity of the vocal. I recently made a song and used both a room and hall reverb which allowed for a massive sound but kept it intimate. Chambers are a great in-between because they allow for a large reverb without losing clarity.
