Totally agree. Its good that there is an option to watch the animated episodes in colour, but its far better in black and white. All the remaining stories in this season are 6 parters, luckily the next story is fully surviving, and the one after only has one missing ep
I think at the start of classic who they for some reason leaned towards 6 parts as a standard, but I think with some episodes, like maybe this one, would be better if they were just 4 parts. they do start to shift towards 4 parts as the standard towards the second half of classic though, in the very last couple of seasons theres also quite a few 2 parters and 3 parters. but yeah no I think usually a 4 part story works best for this format. that being said, some stories are like super long, like you've got the invasion and the war games coming up and those stories are brilliant
Middle part’s definitely tend to drag, it’s not just you. If you end up rewatching the Ice Warriors in New Who, they appear in series 7 “Cold War” and series 10 “Empress of Mars.” They also get a mention in “Waters of Mars,” as The Flood (water-like zombies) were imprisoned by the Ice Warriors.
With the women looking the same that was just the style for women in the 60's unfortunately back then television female characters weren't given enough character development they were there to scream or look pretty which was one of the examples why Carole Ann Ford who played Susan left the show because she was promised by the producers that she would get character development and never got it.
I think the adult women look similar due to styles of the time. I remember when adult women all had that similar look. I was a kid then! As far as the ice warriors looking like people wearing a costume…that’s classic Who🙂. I guess it’s one reason I loved seeing the judoon in NuWho as it’s not that far progressed from the ice warriors. Makes me feel I’m watching the same show. It needs a touch of cheesy costume to be Who.

Yeah that makes sense :)
The Martian costumes, at this time were made of fiberglass, and rubber limns. limited view for the actors. It was the 1960's - hairstyle!
I find practical costumes more appealing and creative than today's CGI stuff to be honest i think it's far too relied upon and lazy in my opinion.
Yh that’s fair :)
