VINTAGE GEAR REVIEW: VESTAX PMC 06 PRO (MIXTICK)

- This is a video showcasing the classic Vestax mixer The PMC 06 Pro (MIxtick). I talk about why I feel it's the best hip hop mixer ever made. In a time of laptops and celebrity DJs, sometimes it's nice to take a look back at some vintage gear that helped pave the way for the current DJ world.
My mixer has been used by many DJs who have come in to play shows in Chicago, as well as many Chicago Hip Hop and house DJs. This mixer was used for almost 10 years before upgrading to the Vestax 05 Pro III.
A few DJs who have rocked the mixer in this video include:
DJ Presyce, DJ Alejan, DJ Swamp, DJ Chill Will, DJ Nu Mark,
DJ Mathematics, DJ Skor, Cache 22, DJ PNS, DJ Illanoize, DJ Intel, 33 1/3,
DJ Cease, Platter Pirates, DJ Fuse, and many more who I may have forgot.
SALUTE!!!

I serviced my 06 the other month and it was super easy. Works like new and I’m so glad I kept it, amazing mixer.
That’s great to hear. I still bust it out and use it on occasion. Also glad I kept mine 🫡
Rare model.
No doubt. 🫡
I had an 06, too. RIP Vestax.
No doubt. Thanks for watching 🫡
My fav of all time
For sure. 👍
That's the made in Japan model you've got there.
The 06 Pro A is made in China.
Amazing mixer.
@@freepeacesweet.7547 I think when they started getting popular they must have started making them in Japan. Just my guess. I’m glad I got this model here. Definitely a rare one ☮️
@@DJREALONE-CHI The first ones were made in Japan then when they started selling a lot they switched production over to China.
I've got one made in Japan also.
Essentially they are exactly the same but just nice to know it's made in Japan.
Even now that's all I use, 05 Pro MK 1, 06 Pro, 07 Pro, 07 Pro ISP.
Truly amazing and beautiful mixers.
No effects got to have skills.
@@freepeacesweet.7547I think I have one more in the closet and it’s a PMC 05 pro 3. That was the last one I bought. There such solid mixers they last years. I may have to take that one out for a spin as well.
@@DJREALONE-CHI Definitely Dude.
The 07 Pro is a beast of a mixer also.
That era of Vestax mixers are a pleasure to use.
Something worth looking at is the Stanton STX portable turntable.
😮 classic joint right there!
No doubt. If I could frame it I would 😆
Thanks for the throwback. super keen on a PMC-05pro review
Dope, bro!
Thanks for checking it out. 🫡
Still use my 06 and trying to repair my 05...Both OGs made in Japan.
That’s wassup. Made to last a long time for sure. I’m gonna bust out the 05 next.
@@DJREALONE-CHI Cool bro.
My PMC-05 Pro II was made in China! I was so surprised, expected Japan
@@djcalle1975 More like assembled with Japan parts..cheaper labor.
@@djcalle1975 I’m pretty sure mine is too. I’ll have to open it up and check
you know, these days its pretty simple to build your own midi controller. midi functionality is pretty much built right into the popular project single board computers now, some wireless, most through USB, and even the standard 5 pin midi connector. ive seen many people build their own controllers, from the origin of the dicer to the midi fighter. why cant we take the potentiometers of these vintage mixers and put a digital signal to them that can be read by our computers? if youre brave enough, you can even add new buttons knobs and faders to the mixer, giving you the ability to do new things that the creators of these relics never thought would be possible...i dont see how this would be impossible to do. getting rid of the boards may create space for other things, too. like maybe a hard drive, or a small audio interface DAC, allowing you the ability to plug into the mixer like you've always done. i had my behringer djx700 open once to clean it when i first got it, and there were like 3 or 4 circuit boards stacked on top of each other, but other than that, it was empty space.
I'm not sure if i could do these kinds of mods to a working mixer, but one that has no hope of being functional again? absolutely...
