The purpose of this channel is to celebrate these artist and share not just this music, but music from throughout the world and time. If you can honestly say there's no difference between the selection of mixes provided here, and those on your local radio you either live in a city with a great station, or are ignoring the effort taken to select, source and present the work in such a beautiful way. Doing that while providing the sources as well for people who want to go deeper is awesome though, which is why I love this channel.
Additionally, this channel is free to access. The Patreon support is a tip jar for the aforementioned curation efforts as well as collection for future projects. Look at this like a public access radio show that's run off of donations in lieu of ads interrupting the enjoyment every few songs. Each set is curated and played free of interruption as a whole piece, akin to making an art collage. Challenge yourself to create a set that flows as effortlessly as this one (or any of the others hosted here) before making this type of comment in the future, you'll see the effort thats put into every video.

Everyone has their own experiences and I think that again diversifying peoples taste is really great, even if it's a shallow exposure, it's exposure nonetheless. This channel doesn't run copious ads, it's not behind a pay wall, and it credits the original artist while being played on real vinyl, which supports the original artist. I'll make an effort o checkout mixcloud though, sounds like a cool place to find more new stuff to look for next time I hit Amoeba when I'm in LA

I buy music via mp3 so I can support independent musicians. I hear there music usually from YT recommendations that start when I go down the music rabbit holes searching out some of the tunes from MAJ. At least half of my favorite songs came from YT recommending obscure musicians.

I always research the artists that I like and try to support them if they are still around. That said, most artists from the late 20th century don't even own the rights to their music anyway, so really you are just taking money away from the copyright holders, whoever that may be. I've got the 3-disc series Beat at Cinecitta and it totally goes along these lines with some really wild compositions, including funny sounds, wah-wah, etc. "Library" music as backdrop to goofy Italian sexploitation flicks from the 60's-70's. This set here by MAJ fits right in. So much groovy fun! Thanks for sharing this. You have such great taste in music. Mad respect.

It's fun how some of these tracks belonged to Italian erotic-comedy movies of the 70s's and are now seen as ambient/library music.
