I love the "rambling" you include in your descriptions, peppering me with a good amount of history, back story and side story - I could even handle more. Great job! I can't wait for your next video.
Come for the rambling, stay for the peppering!
I didn't know anything about Charles Coombs (even though I do have a couple of his YA Sci-Fi books). This was pretty fascinating. Same with artist Alex Toth, etc. I really look forward to each new upload from you. They've all been excellent. Entertaining and informative stuff.
Thank you so much! It's always fun to look under the surface of books we enjoy. There is always more to the story!
I’ve had this book for decades and not got around to reading it. Your great video has convinced me that I should get to it sooner rather than later as I loved the tv show
Yes! It reads pretty quickly, and is a a great piece of Maverick memorabilia. Enjoy, and thanks for watching!
I just finished reading my copy of the _Maverick_ book, and I found it really quite entertaining. It could make a fine episode of the series.
It would have been a good first entry in a series of paperback westerns, but alas, the westerns from TV went to Whitman hardbacks while the spy series went to other publishers' paperbacks, it seems.
Yes, it was a really fun read. Thanks for the suggestion. I might not have read it otherwise ... certainly wouldn't have thought of it for June on the Range, but it worked well!
Westerns are popular all over the world. One of the most famous western writers in Spanish was Marcial Lafuente Estefanía, who wrote more than a thousand short pulp western novels during the sixties and seventies.
I've seen some of his books online. I sure wish I could read Spanish! What I've seen on Amazon, they have some nice covers, too! You've got some nice work out there yourself! Thanks, José!
@@jscottphillips503 Nobody calls me that. JD, please.
@@jdsantibanez My apologies, JD!
There are still contemporary Westerns filmed all over the world. I recommend Red Hill (2010) from Australia.
Indeed! I'll have to see if I can stream it. Thanks for the recommendation!
