Excellent video. Unless I missed some cuts, that was done in one take which proves your ability as a consumate host. My first booktuber was Mikes book reviews which I stopped watching after his desire for subscribers interfered with his content. Criminolly, an excellent channel, recently reduced his output to presumably avoid burnout which has worked seamlessly for him. Keep doing what you do-it’s massively enjoyable and informative and your style is friendly and inclusive. Looking forward to the ‘another story’ channel update… best wishes from the UK 😁
No cuts this time, but I usually have some, especially in the videos where i talk about artwork and other background info. Those are easier to video in segments so I can look at the artwork details while talking about them without showing my nose buried in a book or screen. I agree on CriminOlly. He's a natural and very engaging. Thank you for all the kind works, and thanks for watching!
Rascally Randy! Hee hee hee! This was awesome. I’m having a morning coffee and have your video playing. 😄 Thanks for the mention. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for your channel. 👏🏻
Thank you, that's good to hear. I've always appreciated your channel ... always great insights and background information, and I enjoy your banter with Steve.
Oh, goodness, thank you for mentioning your struggle with reading when stressed out, and using Booktube as a sort of replacement. I thought I was the only person like that. The past few years have been a nightmare of family medical and financial stuff. (Non Covid related.) Sometimes I've sat down to read and my brain was just not having it. Or I'd fall asleep from exhaustion/stress. Booktube really has helped save my sanity.
I love this video - thanks for the tag mate! :D I will tackle this one soon. I always enjoy the visual elements of your videos. I absolutely love Merphy's channel. She's brilliant at reviewing books and taking the subject of reading in a general way in her videos too. I love the picture you chose for Shawn haha. I'd love to hear more about you working for Disney, although I guess that might be dodgy talking about work or work you used to do....not sure. I totally agree about seeing the person's face; that helps me too. I go too far in my videos and I'm too close to the screen but there ya go, I have to do that haha - I agree with your advice. Aww man, i'm sorry about the June on the Range tag - you may have tagged me for Return of the Jedi tag too....not sure....but I totally appeciate the tags!!!
The Return of the Jedi Tag was not from me. I don't think I ever even saw that one. But the June of the Range Tag wasn't very fair, right at the very end of June. I think you were even helping Shawn out at that time! I don't mind talking about Disney at all! I worked with a lot of great and legendary folks in those day, and a lot of fun stories. I do drop a few into some of my more chatty videos from time to time. Hope you have fun with the tag!
@@jscottphillips503 yeah it might have been around that time. I will still do it. I have a bunch to catch up on....yeah if you get the urge to do a "My days at Disney" video i'd love that. I'll have a deeper delve to see what I can see in the older videos haha
I love looking at your shelves. Is that a genie bottle back there? Lol looks very cool. This is a fun tag! I’ve noticed so many booktubers that I loved watching have fallen into the abyss lol. It’s always sad when someone leaves.
It is, indeed, Jeannie's bottle. Several people have commented on it, but nobody even mentions the Holy Grail sitting next to the Jameson. Now, that's the cup of a carpenter!
I’m glad I am not the only one who recalls the name Joe Spivey from “Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh” - “I went hiking with Joe Spivey. He developed poison ivy.” 😆
Ha! Yeah, I didn't want to be too obvious with the reference, but nice to know a select few will pick up on it. Apologies to Joe, in case he's had to deal with such remarks all his life. I'm hopeful that the years and miles may have shielded him from it!
If people are not going to post anymore, I wish they would just say that. There's one channel that suddenly stopped posting. Everyone has reached out to ask if they are okay. There's just silence. I understand when Real Life takes over. But is it too much to ask to make a quick video or note on social media to say you are okay? It doesn't need to be a detailed reason. Just let us know you are alive! I know we're not supposed to. It's a one-way relationship. We (viewers) know you, at least to some degree. But you don't know us. We miss you when you leave. If we leave, you don't even know, much less care. I get it. It's a weird dynamic. But it still remains that we viewers do get attached to and come to care about the people we watch.
I bet a lot of them don't really have a moment where they decide to call it quits. I think they might have a something that keeps them from doing their next video, then the next, always meaning to get back in the saddle... but eventually they just never do, but still think they might. But, you're right ... it's always nice when they DO clue us in.

Me too! Thanks, MJ!
Great tag and channels mentioned. Glad we watch some of the same ones. Also I'm honored to show up in the tag, I appreciate your comments.

You are NOT the only one! All my best for you and your family's well-being!
Thanks!@@jscottphillips503
I couldn't agree more about audiobooks. Just read me the damn book. I don't need the reader performing or doing voices or whatever. Ugh. Great video!
Thanks, Randy! And thanks for the tag!
Thanks for the mention. I think i might have done this tag at some point but will see if i can revisit it.
That would be cool. Some of the questions certainly seem update-able. Thanks, Shawn!

My days at Disney? Hmmm...

You chose…wisely.
