Straight pipe: loud
Muffler delete: sounds tuned
I thought i was the only one who said that
Exactly how it sounds
A tip : watch movies at flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Gunner Jeremiah Definitely, have been watching on Flixzone} for since november myself :D
Nobody:
This guy: Dudge Ram
Of course the guy who buys an orange truck makes it loud before he even has tags on it.
Lmao what a fact
Got to.. the court house can’t get my plate until this covid 19 shit is over 🤣
Idk. I can't really knock him. I buy blue trucks, but I usually have an exhaust ordered before I get my real tags. Once I had a truck shipped from an out of state dealer to buy. I immediately went home and ordered a borla system for it. Almost shit when they called the next day and said they couldn't get the truck. Got lucky and found another. Lol.
What do you expect out of a typical ram hemi 1500 driver? They gotta b obnoxious and brag about how tiny their balls are.
Haha I did my muffler delete the day after I got mine with 75 miles on it
I think the orange one sounds cleaner
Agreed
TheCrazyOtter it sounds like ass..
Agreed. But to be honest they sound kinda ghetto. Nothing like the sound of a quality exhaust system or muffler. 🤷🏽♂️
Yes
Fuser 4 this is the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard 😂😂😂😂😂🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I prefer the “straight piped” one and I put it in quotation marks cause if it still has the cats it’s not technically straight piped
I prefer legit straight pipes
There’s 2 variables to it, one has resonators other does not and the tailpipes are 2.5, not 3 inch, basically I would think the black one has bad cab drone
Calvin Maynes catback isnt straight pipe. Straight pipe is just straight from the headers back, no bends, no mufflers. A catback can be a few different things
@@wesg4291 agreed on the cabin drone for the black one
If the drone is bad just get a muffler
I just want to thank you for all the comparisons that you put up for us to see.
I’ve got a 2012 Ram 1500 hemi single cab with true dual, no mufflers or resonators. The true dual really made it a lot louder
In 10 years of Watchimg Videos of Truck Straight piping the Best Informative Video So Faaarr!!! ThanX Maaan!!!
The muffler delete sounds better than the straight piped.
DoubleJ I agree, much more cleaner sound
100% man, I have to get this done to my rebel
On the rams, definitely. But for some reason on he cars, straight pipe sounds better.
I took my muffler off my 17 and it's not bad inside either when just cruising. Step on it and you can hear it. My wife was following me in her 18 explorer on the highway and said she could hear it clear when I stepped on it too. Cost me 30 and some time.
Chris Bruggeman before I put my muffler on I could hear my cold start inside a concrete building from the parking lot 30-40 feet away, kinda miss it
I'm in love with that first orange truck but both of those trucks sound really really good !!!! 😁😁😁😁😁
Even tho it was a cat back not straight piped, it still sounded amazing
Cuts muffler off, calls it a delete
Cuts muffler off, calls it straight piped
MERICA!!!!
He cut the resonators off the black one. Left the rez's on the orange one.
Karl H exactly
🤣👍
Karl H Exactly!! good call, people dont pay attention, just fast forward to the results
Cut off mufflers "muffler delete". Cut off mufflers AND resonator "straight pipe"
Both sound really good just like I would want them and that orange color just makes the whole truck standout.
What kind of camera do you use? Picks up the sound pretty well.
its nice to see the old dealership i use to work at
I like them both, but would chose the muffler delete because it's less work...and less money.
I did the second setup on my truck, and sounds sooooo good 👍
I like the LITTLE Outlaw on my HEMI pickup, it doesn't sound like it's all broken up.
I’m curious what is the max allowable CFM reading where you are?
I had a roadside inspection done by a cop last month my reading was 92 CFM at 3000 RPM our max allowable is 90 CFM.
I love that orange with the black stripes. It looks so agressive!!!!
John Doe that’s why I bought it lol. It’s my truck in the video.
Hell yeah man, nice!!! I love them ram trucks man. My dad picked up a 2020 ram 1500 night edition in flame red with a hemi and it’s a badass truck. We were going to buy that orange one but the dealership sold it a week before we got there so we just ended up getting the 2020.
Them Rams sound the best
They sound great but sounds like it would be a clapped out iroc coming down the road, not a truck.
LOL, love this.
I have a muffler delete on mine and I love the way it sounds
The orange sounds 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I did the half straight pipe version and I also cammed my 13 ram sport and man I couldn't stand how raspy it was
One of Nashville's best Exhaust shops per some guy named L.A.....
This is accully way better for environment. Straight all the way. No hold backs. Awesome
Really the description should've been resonator delete or not. I've got a 14 Ram with the magnaflow muffler delete. It sounds great. I'll probably change the stock chrome tips to a 4" black tip but keep the resonators, only to reduce the drone frequency sounds.
Damn, I love the straight pipe
Holy shit that orange 5.7 sounds amazing
They sound really good 👍💪💪👍
As an owner of a 5.7 that had been deleted i can say first hand it sounded great running around town, and taking off, but on the freeway it droned like a mother, MDS straight sounded like ass, and when towing anything of decent weight it got old very fast. I ended up putting a flow through style muffler on it, and it's a thousand times better.
Travis McVey - I have this same problem with a MBRP cat back system. What muffler did you switch to?
@@stevenfoust3782 I call it a Magnaflo knock off, but it's a Total Flow 18in direct swap muffler off Amazon. Total Flow 41635. It was $125.
@@travismcvey you could always get a diablo tuner and shut ther MDS off!
Same issue with my 2012 Silverado 5.3. last owner put downturns under the cab and straight piped it. Sounded fantastic in town but also got old. I put a black widow 250 series on and ran it out the back. Has a good bark and doesn't drone. I'd highly recommend their exhaust.
The Outlaw muffler is great sounding ...not to much ,but enough.
So I already did a muffler delete in my Dodge Ram 1500, will it hurt my truck if I take the resonators out and put pipe there ?
Both are nice. The orange kinda truck sounds like an Amg
Sounds so good
I love that hemi
I got this sound on my 5.2 ram with a $40 cherry bomb extreme with two dumps on the back lol.
My stock 2020 night edition sounds like orange one already. I just need flows I guess
Good job guys !
Great video.
does any of manipulations effect the fuel consumption at all?
Muffler delete with Y pipes sound menacing af. I have them on my Ram Sport
Liked the black one a lot better 👍👍
Nice trucks. Good video for comparison. No muffler is just a bit too loud for me.
I love both of those trucks but I'd rather drive the orange one because it's my favorite color and I think it sounds better !!!!
Pipes rusted off my 03 Ram just after the muffler, but with the cracks and holes in my exhaust system my 4.7l sounds awesome lmao
Sounds good on idol, until he steps on it then it sounds like a flappy bean fart
Idle...
They basically did what any teenager would do to the truck. Make it as loud as possible and ensure that it sounds like dogshit under load when taking off.
totally agree.
EyeGotThaPooOnMe ok boomer
That boomer joke is so lame LMAO
How come nobody changes that restrictive ypipe after the converters, mine muffler delete sounds great until 3000 rpm and then starts to clap , im changing that restriction point next week and see the difference
What should I do to a 5.7 Jeep Grand Cherokee?? I want it to sound loud I haven’t done anything to it yet
Is there a power benifit to deleting the muffler??
All i noticed was a chevy s10 in the parking lot with a for sale on the front for 5k lmfaooo yea right
🤣🤣
What type of converters are on both of them????
I have a 4th gen ram and I simply cut out the muffler and let me tell you it's sounds bad ass and it's perfect amount of rumble to where it's not annoying but when you get on it it's loud
Perfect! This is basically exactly what I wanted to know. Thank you so much. Now I need to know what tips you have to get the wife to approve...
Muffler delete sounds wayyyyyy better 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
it does for awhile.its been a few mths.im starting hear weird crackling sounds-like in the undermath of the rumble, when i hurry up and scoot down the road.have not took it back to muf shop..getting a new catback and shorties
ok so i heard its bad to do a muffler delete, even though it sounds good it does harm? true or not true?
Do both trucks still have there resonator and 3rd Cat
What if I leave everything stock but removed my muffler and left the space open?
What size tips on the resonator delete?
Good stuff
That Altima or Maxima was like.....Hey, I wanna play 😂
Carven direct fit bolt on ftw
I agree muffler delete is the simplest best sounding way to go
I will go with the orange one, sounds good. The black one sounds too raspy. I have a ‘15 Ram with a Flowmaster Super 10, everything else stock, sounds good to my ears lol.
I have the super 10 muffler as well and stock resonators and I love it just not quite loud enough for my taste lol
I don't even know how someone could put a super 10 on their truck and think it wasn't loud enough. I put a Super 50 cat back on my 2016 F150 (which also removed the resonator) and not only was it super loud but it also had a ton of resonance in the cab. I had to put the resonator back on and put a spiral insert in the pipe ahead of the muffler, but now it's great.
I like the sound of both of them but choose the orange Dodge.
brian criswell it’s not a dodge tho lol
spinner382 Are you slow in the head? It’s a Dodge Ram 1500.
Wolfyy actually you’re slow in the head, its RAM 1500, RAM and Dodge are seperate companies, please educate yourself before insulting others
Irvinn Hexagrams I’ll admit, i was wrong. But to say Ram and Dodge are separate companies is a false statement.
Wolfyy no it’s most deffintly not they’re completely separate entities now
Where can you find the muffler delete pipes
That is one way to warm up an engine
Here in 2 days I'm taking the resonators and muffler off my truck and just doing a y pipe, I love that crackling sound when you put the pedal to the floor the orange one sounds cleaner but I love the craziness of the other one it just sounds so raw
I did my resonator and muffler delete on my 07 Aspen 5.7 hemi with just a tip go back and get two tips underneath it look like tusk trying to find me some long or short two headers
I have the Super 10 Outlaw on my 04 Ram and it's all I really want, pretty loud for my neighbors lol.... Thinking about headers possibly?
Thank you so much for not calling it a DODGE Ram.
@@loadstar1600 an 04 actually is a Dodge though
@@loadstar1600 you are right, it is still called a "Dodge Ram". In 09 I believe is when Ram became it's own division of Chrysler or FCA, so then Ram didn't have follow the rules that Chrysler or FCA set out. They made their own...... now doesn't that make you wanna go buy a Ram right now lol.... ?
@@loadstar1600 Ram just sounds nicer to me rather than Dodge Ram.
I'm looking for headers for my 07 Aspen 5.7 hemi just did a resonator and muffler delete
I agree the orange one sounds better.
Nice videos
Here for all the rams haha
My dream car, too bad petrol prices in europe are sky high
Just bought a 2018 ram 1500 5.7 today plan on deleting that big ass muffler pretty soon here! 🏁🇺🇲😎👍🤘
I like the muffler delete sound better
And here's our straight piped truck, right here ya've got tha converters and there but uh yeah it's straight piped.
I have a 2018 & l was wondering which to do, thanks!
Do muffler delete homie
They sound identical to me. I guess those little resonators in the tailpipes don't do much...
The y-pipe on the 14's and newer are horrible. Its practically crushed where the pipes meet. I have a 2017 and I installed short tube headers(shouldve went longtube), 3" high flow catted y-pipe, 4" mid pipe to a high flow muffler and a 3" dual exhaust. Its not as loud as the straight pipe set up but has a deeper exhaust tone.
I had a 2016 but traded it off last year. 60k miles and the transmission was starting to shift hard and do odd things. I had it reprogrammed but still had the issue. Fun truck though. I miss it.
That's fucking dodge for you! I really like these newer dodges, but idk if I can get myself to pull the trigger on one. Dodges are just known not to hold up for a long time and dont hold there value. It's hard to find a dodge truck with close to 200k miles and the transmission hasn't had to be replaced.
Ever changed the transmission fluid? Average automatic car needs it changed every 20K miles or so. If you don’t change it of course the fluid is gonna break down and then the transmission starts eating itself.
@@EconomyElk I serviced it at the dealer per manufacturer outlines in the manual.
Has to be some of the WORST welds ever done on an exhaust! How do you screw that up?
I have a 2014 Dodge Ram single exhaust, would it sound the same aggressive as the dual pipe or a lot less??
Asking the same question here, REALLY not sure bout it but since the flow is coming from one tip not two, might sound a lil louder but can't really say
It’s not a Dodge Ram he’s frontin, that’s a ram my guy.
Well the orange truck (Ignition Orange Sprcial Eddition RAM 1500) is a 2017 but if the grey RAM 1500 was manufactured in 2012 or before it was branded as a Dodge RAM as opposed to just RAM. There was a branding division made by Chrysler LLC in 2012 to separate the brands.
Who cares it’s a name.
Just got a 2018 5.7 1500 rebel with no tags on it yet and im already getting a muffler delete
2:53 the pants XD
T I G H T
Gave his legs the Krylon touch
Sheep Dog69 he didn’t buy the truck because he need it... he bought it because it’s the “cool” thing now a days. I’m tired of seeing it too. People stealing our truck style 😪
🤣🤣🤣
Don't criticize his pants or else his boyfriend will scratch your eyes out!
Orange sounded best for sure.
Next you should do one with a real straight pipe
muffler delete sound good not no rasping
The orange truck sounds so clean. Have the same system on my 2018 ram Hemi but also H pipe. No regrets
Orange for sure sounds deeper
Black one for the win
I prefer the sound of the straight pipes
I've got a 2003 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT with the 5.9 L Magnum V8 that has a muffler delete. Sounds MEAN AS HELL
I just did a resonator and muffler delete on a 07 Aspen 5.7 hemi
@@WORKanU my buddy has the hemi and did the same thing. Sounds mean!!
Orange one sounded better, muffler deletes was louder but the resonators on the orange one took away all the terrible rasp
I have a 17 1500 ram and I have a mid muffler delete and it doesn't sound as loud as the orange one..
Really? I have a 17 muffler delete and sounds exactly like the orange one. Does yours have the dual exhaust tips?
@@cbruggeman25 yes, and yes I do, it sounds like it at idle only but when I accelerate the muffler doesn't sound like that. Not nearly as good
I like the straight pipe better. Has a deeper tone.
Straight pipes seem louder, they both sound good.
al va that’s because straight pipes are a lot louder. I consider that muffler delete a straight pipe too since they literally had to cut the mufflers off and replace it with pipes. But full straight pipe is insanely loud
To me the muffler delete sounds cleaner but the straight pipe sounds better
What is the price to do muffler delete
