  • This Fleetwood Mac classic is a great way to get started with fingerstyle. The lesson mostly covers the easier verse part. The chorus is included in the tab and touched on briefly in the video, but deserves a lesson of its own which will follow soon.

    My first thought was to thank the UA-cam algorithm for steering me to this channel. My second thought was: Who are the 15 f******s who gave this video a thumbs down?

    Howdy, I'm sure glad I stumbled onto your channel! Best lessons I've seen so far and I've seen a ton. Thanks for making my quarantine more enjoyable and constructive as well. I would be jazzed if you could do a lesson on South City Midnight Lady by the Doobies. You need some subscribers; I'll try to help you with that. Take care.

    I applaud 👏🏽 your understanding and ability to explain your actions in a clear and concise manner. You have a true gift. You understand that it is difficult for the viewer to see which strings are fretted when holding chords and you explained which strings were open. Nice 😊 work.

    I logged in just to say thank you for this lesson. I'm a beginner and this tutorial is easily one of the most useful I've seen. Everything was clear and intuitive and I'm especially glad that you stopped to explain some basic theory stuff, i.e. what key capoing brings you to and what notes you're actually playing. Really great stuff thank you so much!

    I appreciate your discussion of physical technique, the variations, and the information about what to be careful about. I've never cared for the "that is wrong, this is right" school of teaching. Coaching around why you would work on certain techniques, how to avoid strain, how to vary the sounds, etc., is very nice to hear.

    Thanks to self isolation and your wonderful videos, my hands are starting to find the right notes with to me, amazing regularity. I'm hearing true bass and melodies that I'm able to control for the first time ever. Not really concentrating on the song as much as just letting my hands go and seeing where it leads. What a wonderful tune, Lindsey has been one of my favorite guitarists since I was a teenager even before Rumors came out. Now my hands are working as a unit and timing is finding itself, I can't wait to get part 2 down.
    It just proves what all great music teachers say, musicians aren't born, they spend countless hours perfecting their techniques that no ever witnesses. Instead of minutes here and there when life lets me play, the guitar has been my exclusive go to during the lock down. My level of playing has grown more in a month than in years. Your style of teaching songs and the construct of chords is just so needed for players like myself.
    I've made a true playing breakthrough in the past few days; having the guitar in my hands for extended hours along with your lesson advice that goes way beyond notes or a single song... Thank You for taking the time to give proper instruction to guitarist everywhere.
    Funny how Nashville has long been known for the best session artists in the world, I also have found it also has the most down to earth teachers who go the extra mile to truly educate us on our instruments of choice. I'm just down the road, also in Tennessee.

    Well, ya larn somethin' new ever day! hehe Didn't realize the G/B means that the chord is supposed to be an inverted G! The light bulb goes on!

    • @ddwieland
      @ddwieland 4 роки тому +2

      Actually the "/B" means that B (fifth string note) is played as the bass note -- rather than the more typical G on the sixth string. This is shown in the tab. It also shows the G chord fingered with a second D; I hadn't heard that called an inversion. (I learned about "slash chords" only 10 or 15 years ago, not having the tab to illustrate them.)

    Can anyone show me how to fret the Am7 please. I can’t get it from the vid. Then it’s called a Cm7 due to capo. 😜
    Looked at chord charts but not really clear to me

    • @NashvilleGuitarGuru
      @NashvilleGuitarGuru  3 роки тому

      Two fingers, index on 2nd string 1st fret and middle on the 4th string 2nd fret. If you know a regular Am, just leave the G string open by releasing the ring finger. And yes, the capo adds to the confusion, so most people just think about the shapes they're playing and ignore the capo - unless someone else needs to know what key you're in!
