I've probably posted like 115 videos in 2023 already and this is better than all of them combined. Technical masterclass, as expected.
Haha I'm glad you liked the video! But don't sell yourself short
@DanOttawa your vids have good content as well like you Teambuild series on Swampert and NidoQ for instance
Tho just casually pops up and provides us with a technical masterclass on game mechanics.
No convoluted intro or drawn out build up. Just straight fire 🔥🔥🔥
for real
School is back in session kids. Great to see you posting again👍
🥸
I keep referring people to this video for a better understanding of the less visible mechanics in PVP. One of the most useful Pokemon Go vids on youtube
I feel like I'm in AP Pokémon GO PvP class
Came to this video since I heard u talking about the “zero turn swap” from your Knoxville Regional Tournament video! 🥵
Welcome back, and thank you for this. It's good to see you coming out with new content and really informative, as well.
Hello, Good to see you again! Hope you gonna post more videos. Its always fun to watch top tier players and their team ideas!
Thanks for posting this. Super clear to understand in this breakdown; great stuff.
Great to see you back! Would love to see your top cup team videos again too, they were great!
Thanks Tho!! Great to see some of your content again. I appreciate this pro tip. It helps immensely.
Ayyy, the goat is back! I missed your content. This was a nice deepdive into mechanics! Hope you're going to do more of these.
This is on the level of Wallower's "move queue" idea from ages ago. Very very good breakdown and explanation of the mechanic, thank you!
I miss wallower
Glad to see you back! Have a good one
Very informative video! Thanks for taking the time to make this for us
Im glad to see you again!
I’m a consistent legend player and I didn’t even know this. You truly learn something new every day!
I think it is since the last big GBL game update, september 2022. But then I am not a legend player.
This was very helpful and clear. Thank You, I appreciate it.
That makes a lot of sense, thanks for explaining this! I always thought switches were inconsistent, but it wasn’t switching that was the problem, it’s the mechanic of damage sometimes not registering on the turn that a charge move is thrown. I guess there are still a lot of things that I don’t yet understand about this game
Yooooo glad to see you back on YT!
Glad to see you’re alive
A wild Tho appeared! Glad to see you back
Very well explained. Thank you sir!
You are so amazing! I love learning content!
You're back, more great news today. Hope you're doing great, man.
Good to see you again, Tho!
Yay! Welcome back! Hope you're doing well.
Really excited if this means tho is back to posting on UA-cam!!!
holy shit a wild Tho has spawned , Welcome back hope you're doing great tho! :)
Yoooooo good to see you posting!
heeey!
Thanks! Dont be long on the next one!
The fast move damage not always applying on the turn it hits reminds me of "PID" or "Player Identification" in Runescape.
PID is essentially your placement in the server, and changes at random intervals every ~20-45 seconds.
Meaning, if there are 2000 players on a server, and Player A/Player B are fighting, and both do an action on the same tic/turn, then only one action can register first.
Player A = 50 PID
Player B = 485 PID
In this case, Player A has priority.
Potentially the same thing here: if you have PID, your fast move registers on the turn it hits, but if your opponent has PID, your damage registers a turn later
And as far as it feeling inconsistent, perhaps if changes just like Runescape. Or maybe it is determined at the start of the battle
I know all about PID im a fellow runescape player myself such a terrible way to decide who have priority in a fight for first hit.
WELCOME BACK THO!!
Welcome back Tho!
Straight up masterclass
If there are more mechanics like this one it would be great to see more content like this
This explains a lot!
the GOAT is back
WELCOME BACK!!!!
The professor is back!
ayyyyy lets go hes back
Ty for this
Great vid Tho!
Thank you, i was freaking a couple of battles because they have free turn in the swap
🤯 Quality info 🤯
Tho! We missed you
I wasn't aware of the inconsistency in damage applying before/after charge move during ideal timing. Good to be aware of. 👍 Presumably, this applies to Fast Moves of any duration, not just 1-turn moves that you used in your example? Sounds like the same thing as the inconsistency between getting your Charge Move off as a KOing Fast Move damage applies: most of the time, the Fast Move KOs (as it's historically done), but on rare occasions, the Charge Move is thrown (how Niantic said a year or so ago they want it).
Yes correct it's the exact same thing
Dankjewel
Tho is back hoppefully 😅😊❤
Hey thank you for the awesome explanation. Is it possible that this logic gets applied when attempting to make a combo play as well?
I have noticed recently that sometimes my opponent can throw a combo play move before i can throw my own move even if the buttons are there. So this behaviour of how 0-Turn switching seems likely as an explanation of not being able to activate a charge attack before my opponent because i am 1-Turn locked into waiting for the damage registration.
Can’t wait to hear your opinion on this. ❤
Holy shit you’re alive😮
If you do a 0-turn switch, can you sneak a move through on the pokemon you switch to? I can see this being a very useful technique when switching to pkmn with a 4 or 5 turn fast move.
Ahoye Tho, where have you been for so long, hope to see you back
Regarding the Dragon Breath (1 turn move) not applying the damage on the turn Shadow ball is thrown @4:30. This happened to me earlier today but with Lock-on. my opponent had a Registeel with 1HP. I came in with my own Registeel (The lock-on animation displayed but the Registeel still used its charge move, as soon as the charge move was completed the registeel went down (i wasn't tapping my screen at all) and won the game. Luckily it didnt make a difference but inconsistency needs to be fixed.
Missed you Tho ❤
Luckily we saw him shine at the Utrecht Regionals already! :)
Huh nice video
Does this mean that if you play a Hypno mirror, that you should throw 5 Confusion, wait for 3 turns (1,5 seconds) and then throw shadow ball? That would mean the damage has already been dealt and make sure you can switch without losing a turn?
Please correct me if I misunderstand this mechanic 🙂
Dude, you alive
It took me 1 turn, to click the subscribe button
You won the thread!
Props for posting this so everyone can see and understand rather than keeping this to yourself as an advantage in regionals and silph ❤
Bro!!!! Come back!!!
I just always get a " bad connection " pop up when i try switch in the beginning of the match .
Tho wey miss you on UA-cam :c
So is it safe to say that if the opponent throws on perfect move timing, you should get a 0 turn switch?
And furthermore, you’ll always get a 1 turn switch if you’re synced up with someone who has a same turn fast move as you
@@leogeo9218 That sounds right.
No as sometimes the move doesn’t register before the charged move
The VAST majority of the time; yes!
However, like I show in the final example with altaria, there is currently an inconsistency in the game; sometimes when your opponent throws on perfect time your fast move damage doesn not aplly till after their charge move. In this case you'll get a 1 turn switch.
In my view Switching should just take 1 Turn no matter what. A consistent behavior and 1 turn cost regardless of fast move and charge move shenanigans would be better I’d argue.
What bothered me is that the opponent switches and gets a charge move despite me being charged up and tapping the charge move before his Pokémon switch. He wins, because he got his charge move. I guess the issue was that there was a damage application delayed my getting the charge move in?
What likely happened is that they got an instant switch and won charge move priority
@@ThoTechtical It happens a lot, it is as if I never get CMP. I begining to think I over tap. I am not sure what is the best tapping speed.
Back 😮 and first 😂
some things never change ;) Good to see you!
This is as clear as it gets or as we say " zo klaar als een klontje"
THOMAS!!!
Ok I understand…but why Mr Mime
👍👍👍👍
why can't I switch pokemon at all?
missed that "what is up everyone"
Where you been Tho??
😢 me hackearon la cuenta de discord. Y me expulsaron de su servidor por mal comportamiento. Ese no era yo
Not into tournament this time???? ❤
2months wow so long wt happen to our regular yt pvp guy>?
Idk what you said i m idk😂
so it has some inconsistencies?? i don't understand why people keep saying "omg such a good explanation of a mechanic" and in the same video you show that some times it doesn't properly work. I think we should be looking at this from the point of view of how niantic could make this type of mechanics more consistent and simple.
PepoG
greetings idol! I apologize for the inconvenience the hacker caused. I was kicked off the server and I would like to be allowed back. I got a lot of useful information for silph and factions tournaments.
Dear god where have you been been dieting with out you and INADAQUANCE
Maybe I missed something here but.. why is this important?
Man Mr. Mime needs better moves
No don't give the ugliest pokemon in the universe more screentime.
Somebody please explain in Spanish please
Yeah, but they've only had like 5 years and multiple millions of dollars to make a reliable product... Are we not asking too much of them?
/s
bro thinks he can make a comeback and we wont know it
Welcome back bro🥲 waiting for your Magcargo video🥲
I miss the daily streams. 🥹
Somehow missed when this was posted. Made my day to see a new video was available. Hope you're doing well, my man. Peace.
