  • Today I am getting my old no dig garden beds ready for spring season. It will be soon here and I want to be prepared.
Embarking on the journey to restore a no-dig garden bed is a commitment to nurturing the earth while fostering vibrant plant life without disrupting its natural balance. No-dig gardening, also known as lasagna gardening, embraces the principles of sustainability and minimal intervention, allowing the soil to thrive and flourish with minimal disturbance. The first step in restoring a no-dig garden bed is to assess its current condition. Over time, organic matter may decompose, soil may become compacted, and weeds may encroach upon the space. With a keen eye and a gentle touch, we embark on the restoration journey, guided by the rhythms of nature.

Yes you are going to get the warmer days soon and we are in Autumn but its still like an extended summer at the moment which is really nice. You are such an inspiration and have transformed the land. The geese are so sweet just doing their thing. The beds are ready for you to plant soon and they look great.

Thank you. We can still get frost and I am a bit worried about fruit trees.

Yes i put wood chips in pathways only. If you put them on the bed they will lock the nitrogen in till they decompose.
