Hi Daggerwin, to answer your questions about stone picking, the stone pickers in fs22 are only really used in America and not in England. The destoners we use on my farm are for potatoes and are done after you have ridged the land. Then the stones are placed into the furrows of each ridge. Each destoner only destones one bed or two ridges each time. So if it was implemented in fs22 it would be tooo much work and as we haven’t got 3D textures it would be nuts to try and incorporate. Hope this helps. This is the same for onions as well.
The silage fork can hold the biggest amount. (8k) so if you want to handle either silage or dung you may use that fork to work smarter/faster not harder. Kind regards
Suggestion for loading the Silage - Put the trailer at a 45 degree angle to the silage pit so that you don't need to make a 90 degree turn with the JCB every load. You're only making a 45 degree turn.

The angled field: I've found to get a worker to work it easily, just run along the headland once to give them some room. They continue their task until the implement hits the edge of the field, then stop - if you have your headland, they'll hit the edge of the field once they've gone up to the width of the implement you made the headland with.
@@MegaSockenschuss not too sure about that - i removed them all when I needed some extra cash (who needs oxygen, right?) but they still leave the little patches. Either start them off parallell to the edge, or run a headland around that edge seems to be the best way.

@DAGGERWIN. We plant potatoes in South Africa and we have destoned all our fields. We use a Grimme destoner. It looks like a trailed potatoe harvester and it digs about 600mm deep into the ground but some stones need to be pulled out with a tractor and chain.

lil tip, spend a few hours clearing the trees at the bottom end of the fields, you'll get a few bales of silage out of that strip of grass, i started my olive orchard between the mainroad and the field
Stone pickers are used in farming and landscaping, where stones need to be removed from the soil and ground surface to prevent damage to other farm machinery (such as hay balers, combines, and mowers), improve the soil for crop production, or improve the appearance of the ground surface in preparation for a lawn or a golf course. Surface stones and large rocks often left from plowing can damage a hay bailer, the header or reciprocating knives on a combine, and blades on a rotary mower. Land with rock instead of fine soil are often less useful for crops. Thus, removing stones from the soil also ensures a more consistent yield. Additionally, using stone pickers is particularly useful for crops forming tubers (such as potatoes) in the ground.
In Canada here ... but we always used to pick the rocks off all our grain fields (I hated that job, we did it by hand) ... but we only picked large rocks as if the rock trap on the combine filled up or one got through, it wrecked our combines. The time spent picking rocks was always worth it when a new combine in harvest season was so expensive. Smaller rocks were never touched though as they went under the header anyways. (Mostly rocks about a watermelon or larger sized give or take)
A couple things for you, I've heard people saying that rented machines will often pop up in the used machines tab after a couple days, also you have to replant the grass after you've painted it. Just go under plants in the landscape tool and there should be field grass, it's expensive, but its possible.
If you buy a second grape vine pre-pruner, you can run one on the front and one on the back. The Landini can handle it. Because of how they're mounted, you can trim 2 vines at the same time as long as they're close enough. Cuts the time spent pruning in half.
Hey Dagger win consider selling the Vinyard and all grape tools and buy a bigger FEILD near you. You could plant corn in the big feild. Then plant wheat in the new feild and another type in the small field by the sheep.
I just want to say I love all your videos man Do you are one of the reasons why I love this game it’s a lot of stuff I’m still in learning but you are helping me with a lot of it
in uk u mailny do destoning/separating which is bit different than stone-picking, u do this for crops like potatoes or swede, so with destoning u just pick big stones and smaller once u put back where are wheel tracks, which helps with tire grip during harvest
Have we enjoyed it, you ask. You can bet your bottom dollar, Daggerwin. Loving this delightful series and learning all about FS22 from you. Thanks and please carry on, Sir.

With the Silage pit I had the same problem, I was able to unstuck the rest by using the painting tool and running a line of grass, concrete etc up the side of the silo be careful tho as you may delete what's left.
You could use the worker to drive the big trailer fully loaded to the sell point while you stay back and load the little trailer, when the big trailer comes back just unhitch and hitch up the little one and send it to the sell point
You might have to inform yourself about the plowing system now in FS22. As much as im aware you have to plow everytime after harvesting corn, potatoes, sugarbeat, etc. But never after anything "normal" like wheat. Dont want you to loose out on extra money ;)
Watched a video by Scroft about most profitable crops, sugar beets and potatoes are 1 & 2 (although the efforts is much higher) Oats, barley, and wheat take up 6, 7, and 8 (including straw and hay bi-products), and sorghum is second worst only to soybeans. So there are more profitable crops that can also feed chickens, unless you're just planting sorghum because it's planting time comes early.
Darrerwin: prune your grapes for winter Once grapevines lose their leaves, the plants fade into the background of the winter landscape. That's the time to take action and get out the clippers. hey daggerwin greetings from Canada I just wanted to say that we pick stones every year on the farm and it is worth it to pick stones because if you sell them and get a little bit of money and if you leave them you could break a planter and if you miss it with the planter you could hit the stones with the combine and then it can go through the separator and then severely damage it and then you might have to get a new combine if the damage is enough so I say it is worth it to pick stones and much love from Canada keep up the good work man love it.
If you rent something from the shop, often that exact thing (same hours and owned time) will appear in the used machinery. Could make multiplayer interesting
was a little surprised and underwhelmed by the amount of money you made with that silage. I've currently got all 3 of those fields producing grass, baling it and wrapping it - producing around 30 1.5m bales. Each bale is 5500l of silage, and when selling it for around the £500 mark, I'm making £80k a pop. I really thought your silage pit was going to net you far more than that.
Grass will only regrow if you use the "plants" not the "painting". If you want to know the liters in a trailer just know that 1 dm3 = 1L so that means that 1 m3 equals 1000 L! Loving the series, keep it up!

Large tractors get sold used pretty often. I got me a Fendt 930 very early on for 100 000 €. Sold one of the starting tractors and that almost covered it. I like that one, nicely handling machine and not too big.
As far as landscaping grass goes, painting the grass texture is one thing, actual grass on top is another. You have to go to plants in the landscaping menu and the first option is the basic grass. Also if something is built on top of field stones, the stone cannot be removed unless you replow over them and then stone pick. Same goes for painting terrain over them.

Nice series, if you wanted the pit empty fast you could have both tractors going with the worker to the selling point while you loaded the other one. :)
Does it make sense to move/sell the chickens from the small pen to the big one? Probably help to multiply quicker, a single food and egg point. Plus you can sell the old chicken run.
You can now sell at the biogas plant without owning it, you just don't get any digestate or other products unless you do. Payout is instant like any other sell point. Stone picking is pretty common in some areas. When I lived in Wisconsin we had a 1-acre garden( not the yard, a place to grow food) and unfortunately did it by hand... not fun.
Millennial Farmer includes the occasional rock picking video on his channel - I think he tends to do it in spring. In FS22 cultivators make small stones which can be rolled or picked. While subsoilers, plows and spaders make big rocks which can only be picked. Thus it's probably good to not use subsoilers et al when you don't need to. Harrows (both types) do not make rocks - and I haven't tested shallow cultivators yet.
What would be a neat idea would be have the stones picked up, took to the crusher to make building materials (concrete in the case of stones) to reduce the cost of placeables, have the saw mills lumber be another way to reduce build cost
I wish you hade a discord. And I just love this game so much. And you do the best job out of everyone at showing it off and I just love your channel in general. Keep up the great work.
Daggerwin how did you clear your bunker I have silage stuck in the same place and the bucket can't pick it up I've tried manure fork and a forage wagon but nothing can get the last 3000 litres
What is the benefit of a telehandler over a wheel loader? The wheel loader can fit a 4k bucket whilst this is max 2650? Might be a bit more expensive I guess? Handling? I'm not quite familiar with the game so sorry if the answer is 'obvious'.
the self-driving animal food-mixer thing is pretty usefull for getting silage out of the silo =) just empty it with one of the conveyor systems into a trailer, i like the meridian one for that job. its like a silage roomba.
New holland t7.275 if you can ever afford it. If not, go for the t6.175. the t6 is somewhat fast for a tractor, at 32 mph. it can also attach a front loader, has a pto shaft on both ends, numerous wheel arrangements, and, personally, I think it looks quite nice.
just a heads up with the glitched silage in the bunker silo if you sell the the silo it turns everything that was glitched in to chaff that you can then pick up and then replace the silo to re ferment
In Canada stone picking is done for any crop. There is still many farmers here that pick by hand still to this day. You can see hole families out doing it.
Here in the Netherlands no rock picking for potatoes but the biggest part is harvested by hand by people like me (16 year old school guys) it pays really good
Loving the series may be having some cows as well in the future would make it a real-looking farm and a small piggery perhaps anyway awesome content I decided to buy this game because of your playthrough keep the series going and see how large a farm we can make.
My ocd was kicking in with you not picking up the silage out of the pit. Can you sell that pit because that might fix the problem and then just place it back again? Just a thought.
Hey! Love you videos :) Note tho, the stones in this map are bugged. When you cultivate you should only get the small rocks but with the bug around you will get large stones even when cultivating.
Suggestion for a new tractor: go big. You have two mediums and an orchard tractor. I'd say that it's time to upgrade to a large tractor. Maybe a John Deere 9RT? :D Also I saw there's a mod that you can get that will turn the rocks you pick up from your fields into lime so that you won't have to pay for lime anymore.
Potatoes are a root crop that's why the stone picking is important so the roots have plenty of space in the ground to produce the best
Actual growing grass is a different texture in landscaping in the same section as the shrubs, but its very expensive to put down so beware!
Dagger if you go into plants and select the first option meadow you can paint over the grass and hide it so it looks more natural
Run a rock-picker this last time and only turn it on when you have to do the random plow function on your fields.
Your cruise was set at 6 on the Massey Ferguson causing the cultivator not to go as fast as possible
Hallo Daggerwin wen I bay farmingsim 22 is it a cd for installation like in fs17 or can you play it only on steam
A class tractor would be cool to see you use
Get your water for the greenhouses from next to the rail bridge which is at the end of the road behind your vehicle and implement sheds 👍
the self-driving animal food-mixer thing is pretty usefull for getting silage out of the silo =) just empty it with one of the conveyor systems into a trailer, i like the meridian one for that job. its like a silage roomba.
That's what my brother started doing on the alp map, very easy way but a bit cheating imo
@@samuraidriver4x4 not realy, that's exactly what this machine is made for. Scooping up silage and the other products for the food mix =)
Hey dagger if you are striving for realism then lower the speed of the hydraulics because it’s too fast
For your next tractor suggestion you should get a class. I think it would be nice to see you make a class/Massey farm
Really like the FS22 series!!!
Glad you decided to keep the sheep, but they need water!
New holland t7.275 if you can ever afford it. If not, go for the t6.175. the t6 is somewhat fast for a tractor, at 32 mph. it can also attach a front loader, has a pto shaft on both ends, numerous wheel arrangements, and, personally, I think it looks quite nice.
if you harvest, fertilize, cultivate and plant with a seeder or planter with fertilizer when you finish planting you have 100% fertilizer state
just a heads up with the glitched silage in the bunker silo if you sell the the silo it turns everything that was glitched in to chaff that you can then pick up and then replace the silo to re ferment
the sheep are out of water, the poor floofballs are drying up !
In Canada stone picking is done for any crop. There is still many farmers here that pick by hand still to this day. You can see hole families out doing it.
Here in the Netherlands no rock picking for potatoes but the biggest part is harvested by hand by people like me (16 year old school guys) it pays really good
The sencertivity button on your mouse is called the DPI button.
That JCB telliehandler looks so cool
I'm glad you are keeping the fluffy sheep 🐑
Loving the series may be having some cows as well in the future would make it a real-looking farm and a small piggery perhaps anyway awesome content I decided to buy this game because of your playthrough keep the series going and see how large a farm we can make.
My ocd was kicking in with you not picking up the silage out of the pit. Can you sell that pit because that might fix the problem and then just place it back again? Just a thought.
Hey! Love you videos :)
Note tho, the stones in this map are bugged. When you cultivate you should only get the small rocks but with the bug around you will get large stones even when cultivating.
It works the other way too. Sim Farmer plowed two fields and only brought up small stones and was able to roll them in
@@goresnet I think it's only the spader and subsoiler that should bring up the big ones.
Suggestion for a new tractor: go big. You have two mediums and an orchard tractor. I'd say that it's time to upgrade to a large tractor. Maybe a John Deere 9RT? :D
Also I saw there's a mod that you can get that will turn the rocks you pick up from your fields into lime so that you won't have to pay for lime anymore. Thought I'd mention that! :)
