I wish Baker Drivelines still offered their 6-speed gear cluster. Sportsters could use an extra cog (especially for the highway). I know a lot of guys would agree.

Absolutely! So pretty much what your doing is just putting the #32 drill bit in the hole before tightening so you can leave a even amount of free space going up or down on the shift lever once it is re installed. It keeps it centered so you can have smoother shifting opposed to it being cockeyed and giving you a smooth shift up but a harder shift down since it is a constant pressure on it. I hope that made some sort of sense. Thanks!

On the 05 up does trans come out on belt side?
What year is this sportster I have a 96 and I want to get into the transmission but do I need to split the engine cases to get to that?
I believe 2003 was the last year of the “trap door” anything after 2003 has to be split to get to the trans don’t quote me on that though

What did you torque the bolts where the transmission goes into the case?
I honestly do not remember I have manuals that I dig through for the exact specs, Im sure a quick google will say though! Thanks for watching
