In Canada one has to chose. Drive a Lexus or get a data plan for your phone. Can't afford both

In October I upgraded to the Apple Ultra Watch and my wife and I have the Apple 14 Pro phones. Great cameras on the phones by the way. We gave them a great test in Singapore and Bali for 3 weeks. Anyhow, we are ready to go but Lexus has still not informed us when they will build our car. It will be a year at the end of January since we ordered. For us it is unprecedented. We are used to waitting 6 months for a BMW and Peugeot convertable. It is getting to the point that I should look closely at what is on offer elsewhere because EVs of all types are hitting the market in droves. The Ultra is my 4th Apple Watch and it is a huge improvement. It is rugged, has a much better battery, larger and brighter display, better microphone and speakers and lots of storage. I downloaded the Lexus app but it won’t load onto my watch until I have registered a car. Fancy that! All I need ist to spend the other A$97K and I can use my watch on the car. Bonus.
LOL. I hope it arrives soon. It's quite unforunate. I put my deposit before the NX was announced in April 2021 and I got it in March 2022. But it's totally worth the wait. Lexus just needs to do better in the software area. Hopefully they recognize that soon.
The connecting time from the app to the car is atrocious. Watching you wait for a response was painful. Did you notice any difference between response time from using the app on your watch vs using the app on your phone?
The timing is similar. The watch talks to the phone to send the message to the car and then the car responding back.
Too bad, Lexus Australia doesn’t offer watch app and digital key features.
Hopefully one day it will be available.
Nor Europe. Compliance issues...
