In this DIY video, I remove a dangerous tree overhead otherwise know as a "widow maker", and provide tips on successful tree felling techniques, safety and use of tree safety lines. Safety is always paramount, and steps should be taken to ensure that the job is done without mishap. The chainsaw is a Husqvarna 455 rancher and is a valuable farm tool to have. the cable is 7/16 guy wire with hooks measuring 125 ft. The tractor is a Kubota 3901 diesel and also a valuable piece of farm equipment.

We had one similar, where the top third of a 20 plus inch tree broke off and hung about thirty feet in the air, caught in a crotch. In our case it was away from everything in the woods and we just steered clear until nature brought it down. Challenging situation. Nice throw getting the line over! I can never make that work ;)
