I've seen other channels which feature Western (typically US American) families moving to Russia. What support is available in Russian schools for migrant children who do not speak Russian?
You look very happy. I am a retiree in UK (widower) and considering a move to Russia under the new visa rules. I visited Russia in May and June this year and enjoyed every minute of it.
I am learning Russian with an online course.
That sounds very promising with your move. Well done for learning Russian as it is needed. Good luck. ❤️
It is a very courageous intent, especially without knowing the language, hope you will learn it enough to feel confident in Russia. A few suggestions based on other immigrants experience: 1. take your time to prepare financially, it is best to have your money prepared for purchase the house or apartment ( not rent), 2. try to make friends with known expats, so that they can share their positive and negative experiences and mistakes so that you avoid repeating them, 3. select Russian region where you would like to move in advance and study about it as much as you can ( living standards, salaries, cost of living, grocery and other stuff prices, jobs demands), 4. Start looking for a job,the easiest job opportunities for expats are English language teaching and IT. Other jobs require solid knowledge of Russian language. If you are US or UK pensioner, your pension might be sufficient to have a good life in Russia, but you need to find reliable way of money transfer ( talk to expats what money transfer way they use). Most important - do not trust your money to people or companies which you don’t know, do not believe in any investments opportunities somebody could offer or heavily advertises, these are scammers in most of the cases. I think these are the most important advises for you as potential immigrant.

Be careful if you are on state pension.. You properly wont be able to bring it..

Transferring funds to Russia given sanctions is another matter but there are ways and means. A few years ago I lived in Spain and a UK expat neighbour had his pension paid straight into his Spanish bank account
When you think about all that's going on in the UK and Ireland today ? That's when you know you have made the right decision. Martin to move to Russia with your family from England. Because you know your children will never have a future in England, not with Prime Minister Keir Starmer as the leader. Or with any other British politicians in England who chose to ignore the English voters in England and elsewhere in Great Britain 🇬🇧 Russia is the place to be especially when you want to raise a nuclear family that follows traditional family values. These are true words. Yes it is easier for me a little with Russian family but we genuinely feel happier here. Russian language is a must to master though to be happy here.
В сша бывает куда более страшная вещь, чем наводнение это ТОРНАДО, хотя и затопление после прорыва дамбы как в Новом Арлеале было и там это тоже повседневная жизнь хотя там богибают от стихий десятки тысяч людей каждый год !!!!

Русский язык - это главное , самое грозное оружие русских 😉.
За счёт своей сложной граматики (система падежей , позволяющая практически свободно "жонглировать" порядком слов в предложениях // глаголы движения , "кодирующие" более одного действия в одном слове // "миллионы" предлогов и суффиксов, позволюющие создавать новые слова буквально "на лету" - ну вы знаете, да?), он позволяет думать в ином, более "комбинаторно-аналитическом" измерении ( кстати, посмотрите, кто изобрёл компьютерную игру "Тетрис" 🙂).
Иначе сложно объяснить такую заметную позитивную диспропорцию в количестве русско-говоряших мастеров шахмат и математиков мирового класса.
Да и с великими писателями и учёными тут тоже всё совсем не плохо...
(мне до сих пор не понятно, каким образом Дмитрий Менделеев изобрёл свою знаменитую "Периодическую систему химических элементов ")...

Both my sisters with their families moved to Russia in the last two years. They were born there but lived 20 years in Germany. At first it was hard for the children because they didn't have any friends and they were always shy. Now they love it there and don't want to come back to Germany.
Yes that sounds similar to our experience. A little shy at first but after a few months and now they are truly blooming and loving it here. ❤️👍
I homeschool to keep this evil bs away from my kids that is going on here in the USA but if I ever moved to Russia I would def put them in public school. It's good for the kids to fully immerse with Russian kids that speak the language fluently and make friends. Makes it easier on the kids. Bonus is putting them in the Russian public schools you wouldn't have to worry about the teachers trying to Trans your kids and the government taking them away.

Мартин, я рад что вам нравится мой родной Оренбург! Он хоть и не огромный, но очень большой по населению и , в отличии многих городов с хорошей инфроструктурой и дорогами, не в обиду другим городам!
В Оренбурге есть собственная душа, своё обаяние, свой шарм, цвет, вкус, запах, история, память.... И многое другое, как и в других русских городах и весях. И совокупность этих индивидуальных вселенных и есть Россия.

Absolutely the steppe capital. The steppes are very beautiful and so vast. It really does make you realise how big Russia is.

Don't worry at all! Some russians for example from Far North, Don't speak very well Russian. Russia have more than 100 ethnic groups. Hearts of all peoples in Russia will help you understand each other without knowledge of language!

I have always been Christian. But I started attending the Russian Orthodox Church in Bristol with my wife. We went on a pilgrimage with our Russian Orthodox Church to Jerusalem. I learned a lot in that time and was baptised in Bristol. 🙏

I recommend you visit first before making a move. Visit the region you think you want to live in, then if you have fallen in love with Russia, hire an immigration lawyer in that area to help you with the process. I’m here 14 years and I understand the process, trust me.

Язык учится при домашнем обучении примерно за год (изучается последовательно от темы к теме), а в школе тот же объем в 2-3 раза быстрее. Так как есть живое общение на различные темы в течении каждого дня.

@@RussianTravels Это у всех так. Если вас устроить на работу в русский коллектив, где никто не говорит по английски, вы тоже за пару месяцев начнете говорить на любые темы по русски. Мозг человека быстро привыкает к новой обстановке и начинает запоминать правила произношения для нового языка, а потом уже и язык начнет правильно произносить фразы.

Martin, Russia is an ancient homeland of all white people, people with haplogroup R1a and R1b. "Rus" in the ancient indo-european language meant "white shining light" and "light (fair) place". Coming to Russia is like returning home after many years, its vast forests and steppes are in your genetic memory.

У нас говорят: "Дорогу осилит идущий". Если есть цель и желание, то всё преодолимо с Божьей помощью. Я встречался в поезде с человеком пенсионного фонда чей родной язык африкаанс. Он довольно пожилой мужчина, но на изучение русского языка для нормальной жизни в России он затратил всего год. :)
Можно сказать так:"Вижу цель - не вижу препятствий".

Martin two years ago left U.K. and now your on TRP or you are on family visa
If you have Russian children who reside in Russia you can apply for permanent residency.
My wife is Russian our son gets this citizenship in December through Russian Embassy U.K. and we have been in the 90’s and returned 5 years ago and for permanent residency you need language and a hole host of documents.

Я вот что подумал те кто собирается переехать в Россию на (ПМЖ) или Постоянное место жительство! На Английском тексте литературы поменять на русские буквы текст чтобы могли хотя бы пару книг прочитать с английским текстом но на русском алфавите. чтобы могли свободно знать Русскую азбуку ну а потом переходить на Русское произношение говорят если читать Английскую версию то можно услышать перевернутую с ног на голову Русскую речь.
