- Since our last build in 2020, we've revamped our simple and budget friendly car camping build. Our upgraded Toyota 4Runner car camping setup now includes a higher platform with more storage, wooden drawers, new hinges and hardware, a tailgate table, and new window screens for ventilation. We've finally landed on 2 mattresses that we've tested and love without any issues.

How did you account for the different heights in the cargo area vs on top of the back of the seats (there’s a bit of a lip there on my 5th Gen, making it unlevel when the seats are flat.) I have a leveling platform in the cargo area now to make a flat sleep surface, but I’m wondering if your dimensions are based just off of the cargo floor & back seats or if you already had something to level them. This video has already been super helpful and I love your channel! Thanks in advance! 😊

How do you stop the back piece tipping when the draws are fully extended? Did you secure it to the truck somehow? Sorry if you mentioned that in the video and I missed it.
When they are loaded and the bed is on top we have never had a problem with them falling out! We did not attach anything extra

We used 5/8" plywood and it worked great!
What size Walmart/Amazon memory foam mattress did you guys get? I have a rav4 and it looks like the full would be the best fit, thanks guys!! 🤩
We got a Full Size 3 inch thick one and it worked perfect!
Why did you get away from plastic bins? You would that was easier to load/unload and organize stuff.
They would just break often! We’ll see how these ones go we might get some drawer organizer bins or something
Did u remove your seats or just build the box on top of seats
We just built the bed on top of the seats!
How do you guys shower while car camping ?
We use our rinsekit portable shower!
