Thats why I love to play citybuilders with at least one "easy difficulty" setting save.
Sometimes I just don§t want to stress about micromanagement and just enjoy looking at things to blossom and develop by themselves.
Deffinitelly gonna have a look at this one. Thanks for tip :)
It is worth your time guys.. i bought it right after it released and so awesome and totally worth the price
Idr if I was watching Splat play this or what, but it does look cute, cozy and inviting. I've wanted to get into city builders, but everything I've encountered is so unbelievably daunting that I shy way from it. It's good to hear you guys' take on this and definitely made me more interested.
Keep pumping out these bangers 🤙
Hytale when 🧐
Maybe also have a look at Foundation. It is quite a simple village building game not unlike this, but has some depth as you progress, such as the ability to create buildings with multiple parts. It is still in early access, but somewhat further along than this one.
@@roqsteady5290 , hey there! Thank you so much for taking the time to write me this suggestion! I think I had seen a few people play it and I can't remember well, but I feel like something turned me off to it? I will have another look at it, if you're suggesting. [It] would be nice to get into a novice friendly city builder so I can grasp the basics, then branch out, if I'm still feeling it.
Thank you so much again 🥰
Maybe exposing to countless hours in fps and moba games have stressfully fried your brain, or to brainless idle games like Minecraft and what not makes you a lazy one? Maybe it is a mindset more than anything else?
Idk if you are into VR or not, but there is a game on Quest 3 called Little Cities. It is a bare bones city builder, a very good starter game if you are looking to get into the genre
@@saviorself1164 , no VR headset yet. I was waiting for the Valve Index 2 to drop, so I'm still waiting lol. Hopefully I'll be able to recall the game when I get to that point. Thank you for the recommendation! ☺️
Had my eye on Fabledom for some time and glad to see it delivers!
The only gripe I have with this game is the lack of conflict/challenge. currently its just build for aesthetics.
For those who want a casual city builder with clear goals, Against the Strom highly recommend.
Hopefully Fabledom introduces a confilct system that utilizes the hero more or quest to help known fairytale characters.
Against the Storm isn't a city-builder. It's a puzzle game.
not every City builder needs to have conflict In It to be a good game. I think that this is fine without the conflict. Its very relaxing and easy going. Keep In mind also that this is just came out In EA so there are likely to changes made to conflict as well as new features getting added maybe not conflict but something along the lines. I would give this a few months to see where the conflict is headed before making any decision on that.
@@fredreed2001 i specifically said conflict/challenge and you just agreed
@@mdc123-v2v oh yeah itsa puzzle game... that builds a city...
@@lainvohndyrec962 I read on the steam comments that they would like to have conflicts it's there but it's optional. I don't really care for having conflict as part but make It optional then If people want it they can use it. But city building games or colony sim games like this should not include a true conflict mode. It should be peaceful.
Wearing a reverse ballcap whilst sitting in a high-back chair seems very impractical.
it's not ideal but you're hardly ever sitting all the way back for it to really matter
hahaha i have that issue
Side note: This set style would totally fit a sequel to **FAT PRINCESS from PSP era.**
That game was so fun esp in multiplayer and everyone chaotically choosing their classes and hats to fight with or mine resources with.
looks awesome will definitely check it out
Great video buddy. Quick question, my wife likes city building games, and usually plays on her mobile. However, I want to buy her a casual easy to understand city building game on PC. I got against the storm but it was too hard for her, any suggestions? Thanks!
Maybe this could get her into the PC world, seems easy and as it is right now, she will learn as developers add contend to the game
After thousands of hours on Civ 6 this is what im looking for this will be great on my new Steam Deck. Thank you
was not on my radar but i am interested now
Shame to hear that the content level is bare. Hopefully in a year i'll pick it up when more features are added.
The user interface looks a little small. Is it scalable?
This game reminds me of the settlers that Bluebyte came out with back In the early days. I think that this game goes deeper and has better graphics then the settlers did and I think that even the new settlers game is trash compared to this. It doesn't even have a freemode/sandbox mode to speak of at all. So If I were to compare this to the settlers newest game this game easily destroys It In terns of features and graphics and pricing. I would easily give this game a 10/10 easily.
Great review!! Thank you for honest review
Hopefully gets a release date on switch soon
Does it run on steam deck?
Yes it does, my wife is currently playing it on medium settings with no issues
I played the demo and enjoyed it
Unfinished.... NEXT!
Agreed, I was about to buy the game, but then I remembered the countless times unfinished game with dead ends and lack of content killing my experience. Never again with these early access.
@@Tendro44 it's harsh to say, but they wouldn't need to sell early access to pay for further development if it was worth playing. There are so many publishers looking for the next big indie success, trawling the web for little development studios with great ideas and sellable products, with stacks of cash ready to throw at them when their pot runs low, to finish their games and make everyone a fortune. More often than not it's the types who pride themselves on only having X amount of developers as some kind of selling point that go the early access route. Having differing inputs in game development is essential, because you can't see the flaws in your own work after looking at it for so long, and there are always flaws. Expecting people to pay you to give their input is a terrible way to do anything. I'm all for supporting small teams, but that's the operative word. One or two guys refusing outside funding unless it's a paying customer for an unfinished product should, as a rule, be avoided.
@@mydogeatspuke Nah. If you don't know what buying into an Early Access game means (that it may be great, average, mediocre, or end development before the game is finished) then you should stay away from EA titles. As for the small number of developers/indy studio/no outside funding - that in no way translates to a game that's gonna suck. I have over 500 hours played in just such a game. Paid $4.99 when it was very early access and this game is easily worth $25 or more. Finished product is awesome. I own several other EA titles by small teams with no outside funding, and they're all decent to great games.
@@Graxster wow, yeah, fascinating stuff, you really changed my mind with that incoherent nonsense!
Looks like Knights and merchants but more cartoony
Best game of all time ever
can you PLZ get rid of the anoying bar in the top of the screen who asks me to become a member for like 50 times in the first 5 minutes. we are not all from the US, some ppl out there have standards.
🤘
All these metal comments
LESSS GOOO
Am I the only one who thinks a game stops being "casual" once you introduce combat/conflict? I'm now worried about invasion. That's the opposite of casual.
can we ban the word charming please?
I don't think they heard you. Also can we ban the word "iconic"?
You must be charming at parties
It could be worse. It could be "cosy." What is that even supposed to mean? Farming, apparently. Just farming. And occasionally romancing NPCs, for.. reasons.
And while we are at it, how about we ban "epic" as well. I'm so sick of 10 year olds referring to games of Fortnite as epic. There is absolutely nothing epic about a game of Fortnite
Just because it is visually cozy and utopian, it is not fooling anyone with *grid* system.
ALL EARLY ACCESS GAMES SHOULD BE FREE... Your helping THEM to improve their game while in development and paying for something that is UNFINISHED. All they then have to do is when the game is ready for full release, you then either pay to keep your game and/or progress or lose the "CD" download KEY to the game so it then becomes inactive. I don't know why this isn't standard.
You don't understand video game development. We would have paid good money to be beta testers for games 20 years ago but devs kept everything secret and all you got was an article and a few pictures until 2 years later you got more pictures. Early access is a good thing for everyone involved.
You don’t want feedback from random people. You want feedback from people that WILL buy the game.
It’s also a mechanism for less fortunate indie devs to have some income while developing the game. It lowers risk and increase success rate.
The expert has spoken.
They need the sales to pay for further development. It's an awful way to do business, because they can then leave the purchased game unfinished (you didn't buy a full product after all) and there's nothing anyone can do about it, but it's how it works.
That’s stupid lmao the whole point of early access is to help generate feedback and money to capitalize on that feedback.
What’s with the villagers’ *ears* ?
Do they have to be ugly?
My biggest problem with gaming market trend these days is the absence of proper combat and blood. It is a medieval city builder yet looks like a unicorn fairy? How is this logical? At least toggle option for these features. Do you have to be a sassy princess to enjoy gaming? Sigh, Simp gen.
The art stlye is an instant deterrent for my tastes.
I found it mind numblingly boring. Like Anno but without any character or personality. It offers absolutely nothing innovative and disguises this with the pretense of being for casual players.
