Chris, you kill me!! That first window you picked up... so gentle and dainty... you didn't so much as scratch the paint on the frame. Then you came to the next window... DROVE THE BUCKET straight through it! Demo has to be good therapy... what could be better than destroying something?!
Johnny Jett on barn wood builders can take a forklift and peel a tin roof off a building in almost one try. Then the guys stack it in a pile & take it to a salvage yard
I remember when you got the, what you call the old 220 now, It was and still is quite the excavator, it has served you well. Nice change of pace job, you haven’t lost your touch on tear downs. Thanks for the tag along video sir.
As always, Chris makes each job seem like just another walk in the park. Those controls are like extensions of his hands with years of practice. Another awesome job Chris.
Now we will read from the gospel according to Volvo. We start with verse 220... Behold ye who bear witness, for Chris lifted lifted the bucket up on high saying "bless this thy bucket and thy thumb, that with it I may level the building in thy name". Amen.
That was rotting right off the foundation. I’m amazed it was still standing! It was nice to see a demo video again. It’s been a long time. I still think that trailer with all the “surprises” was one of the best demo ones I’ve ever seen. Shows how long I’ve been watching you. 🙂
Of all the years I have been watching your show this is the first time to watch you tear down a building, I have a nephew here in Florence SC that does the same thing you do he has been in business for a bout 2 and 1/2 years and growing very well...
I was looking at the 220 and I was thinking of how hard you were to this old girl! And then I was looking at the bucket and I remember when you got it at the Veterinary Clinic, talk about a job that was hard on the machine👈😁 looks like the bucket made it👍 I'm really proud of you how far you've come and how you take care of your machinery, Kudos to you Chris and your Channel👌
Those windows look like they are fairly new, they should have removed them. I’m sure they would be able to sell them. They would be good enough to use in a shed or a barn unless they are all busted like you mentioned.
@michaelbranham5854 Windows that are nearly over 15 years old and haven't been maintained. That be silly, they wouldnid1878 T have got more than 200 blocks probably a lot less for each of them. work the time to take him out and that's assuming he could get them out with further damage and that thay are not completely trashed Which thay most definitely are Also thay are likely to be 15 years out of code probably more as thay would likely have been on the market before thay were brought No one would pay for thise not even for an out house not when u can go to a loco recycling plant and get them for next to nothing or free
Something sad about seeing an old building torn down. Not that I want to keep decrepit old places around. I don't. It's more the long lost dreams of those who were so proud to build it decades ago. And, at least for the homes, the memories of people who have lived and grown up there.
The previous owner threw some money down a rat hole. That building was old and tired and lacking the bones to be worth a rehab attempt. The 220 is a powerful machine but the building didn’t put up much resistance. It was fun to watch. I’m not a machine operator and will never have the chance to wreck a building but the small boy in my head was imagining doing the ripping and tearing and loving it! Nice video and a great demo job. 🥸👍👀✅❗️
Krispy Krunchy! I think balsa wood has more integrity than that. Disturb the wall near a window, and it just falls out. Most of those mobile homes you tore down put up more of a fight than this thing did. Thanks for sharing.
Pile all the wood in one big pile. Take the track loader, drive on top and turn tight circles. When the pile flattens out, pile it back up and repeat. You then are only trucking wood chips. Not to many air spaces in the load. Old Betty is a great wood grinder. Just try it.
It sure looks better with that building gone. I feel kind of sad whoever thought it was worth saving. Looking at how it was built, especially the roof, there was never a chance. I hope the land owner picks up all the old nails before his tires find them.
U take such good care of ur equipment, and it serves u well. 220 prime example. Meticulous job threading through that mess of the church. Thank u for video! God's blessings and be safe.
I cannot believe you dont have a half a dozen kids watching you. When a piece of heavy equipment was doing deconstruction we couldn't wait to watch it. Heck even now at 64 i enjoy it and will spend a little time just watching.
I was impressed with how skilled Chris was at getting one window to pop out of the wall without breaking a single pane. Sadly that technique didn't continue to work.
@@davidglaum2538- might have gone up too fast!! Been like a fuel fired explosion!!! 😂😂😂. Where we live in Alberta, Canada every home has a basement. We were a small rural group of volunteers so by the time we would get to a farm house fire, about all we could do was save the basement!! Sometime just looked like a debris filled pool!! 😂😂 Buuutttt, we saved the basement!! I would often go back with a metal detector to help the homeowners find things like their coin collection, or jewellery even. It was always fun opening the gun safe!! Those guns were perfectly fine!! All the documents burned in the tiny lil $50 safe they had, but the $2,000 gun safe and firearms,, well a little paint and you would never know they were in a fire!!😊 The way the metal collections, money or jewellery, would melt became some interesting pieces.
I'm glad to see the old 220 riding like new again. I know it was a big expense but the old girl earned a new set of legs. You'll get your money back using her.
I wonder if that's the same church my great-aunt Lulu Martha married her 4th husband in. She said rain was awful loud on the roof. She made sure her next three marriages were under asphalt shingles. Fun video to watch. 👍👍👍
Love the skill you have with that claw and bucket, picking up individual window and flinging it aside. I was really hoping that you would have a fire and reduce the pile to ashes. Wishing you and your team a great week. Cheers
I’m sure they planned on siding the OSB before the 08 housing market crash. If not, they were certainly in for a surprise the first time it rained lol I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if this was a botched flipping job. They were hoping to shine up a turd as much as possible and rip off some brand new homeowner.
Nice one !! Yeah, that went pretty quick Man !! Sure wasn't much of it left, just touching it, and it went to dust it looked like !! lolol... Well, at least it was a nice quick job, get in an out !! Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the next !!
Before i retired from Komatsu in Peoria Illinois, the old buildings along Adams street, were called Avery buildings. The crew from a demolition company came in to take them old buildings down but they did manage to remove and salvage the big timbers and they sold them to whomever. The guy who ran the excavator had a long I beam grabbed with the bucket to be able to reach the sidewalls. There we quite a few buildings hooked together and on the roadside since the buildings were just inside the sidewalk had to be fenced off for the traffic. They salvaged most of the bricks from them. It sure looks better now they are gone. It's all grass now.
Note to truck drivers: DO NOT EXIT THE VEHICLE WHILE THE BUCKET IS WORKING OVER THE TRUCK. I took a 20 lb dirt ball to the head while standing near the front of an articulating dump while it was being loaded from the back. I thought I was far enough from the bed but I guess not. Thank god it was a chunk of sod and not clay. (The truck didn't have working AC and I was trying to get some shade from the truck. Not the best idea.) The guys with the mini aren't the brightest either. Not all operators are equal and even Chris can't control how that wood is going to snap.
Diversified that's great Chris from building to destroying great job great video glad to see the old girl back on the job thanks Chris for a great video
Another one bites the dust as they say bro, great building knock down and clean up it was sure worth the price of admission to sit back and watch. Safe travels. Ken.
A couple of guys tore down an old 16x16 house half the walls were already gone. No plumbing, electrical or heating in it. The old guy was still using a pail to get water from the well. This was about two months ago. And they had an excavator. It took them two and a half days. Wood tin and about twenty blocks.🤣🤣👍👍 I think they could use some lessons from you.
I don't like to see old buildings torn down, but sometimes it is the best choice. I remember watching a This Old House episode with Ted Benson as they were trying to restore an old barn. In the end they were able to salvage three beams. So, restoration was out of the question, but rebuilding to make it look the same was possible.
Seeing how easy the Volvo went through that side addition, IF there was a way to translate it's brute force into a storm, I wonder what "F" value of a tornado that would be?
5:59 - Chris skillfully picks-up a window and gentle places on the top of the pile without breaking it.... 6:08 - Chris swings the boom and sends another window into tomorrow 😆😆😆

You are so dexterous with that machine. Being able to pluck pieces the way you do. Glad the old 220 is back at it. Thanks for sharing this, Chris.
Haven’t had a demo video in a long time!! Always enjoy these as you make quick work of these!!
We don't appreciate these demo videos enough lol .

Those newer windows might have been good for a shed or small shop. Too bad.
Missed the demo videos you take them down in a organized way and next thing you know its gone and completed nice job Chris 👍👍😎

You don’t do this that often but you are a master at scraping a house into dump trucks. They are packed!

Yeah that was like the old days used to tear down a lot of things. Double wides and different things. The rose interesting. Something different. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦

Cool. Haven't seen a Letsdig18 demo in a while.
I remember you demoed an old mobile home and found someones pink friend . lol
Wow, the way the whole building rocked with just the force on the metal roofing!!
Watching you wield that enormous digger bucket with the precision of a surgeon's scalpel never gets old.
Been while since nice demo project came up. I always enjoy watching the methodical way you break up the building so the pile is nice and compact.

Nice. With the new under carriage, all you will be investing is regular maintenance and hydraulic hoses (occasionally).
Love a demo vid .. but something sad about a place of worship being lost . Tidy job tho Chris 👍🏻
It would need a safer place than that was- they probably couldnt get an occupancy permit.
The OLD new 220 seem to sparkle in the morning sun. Those mechanics did a great job of removing greasy handprints its almost liks they used paint.😊😊😊😊
Too Bad You Can't Save Those Windows...
Haven’t seen a tear down job in a while cool apparently we have a consensus!
Imagine if he had dumped the wood into a big hole and burned it. It would be the ultimate youtube video. :)
I was impressed with how skilled Chris was at getting one window to pop out of the wall without breaking a single pane. Sadly that technique didn't continue to work.
I was impressed that he picked it up without breaking it.
That would make a hell of a good fire for training.
Yes he gingerly picks up one window without so much as a scratch then smashes the next one to pieces. Go figure...
I prefer the windows break during a demo.

Materials unsuitable for outside walls: Plywood, OSB, fabric. Yeah, they got it all wrong.
I’m sure they planned on siding the OSB before the 08 housing market crash. If not, they were certainly in for a surprise the first time it rained lol

Always amazes me how someone can shut down a machine but still leave the key "on". See it on the port all the time
Especially ones who works on them
Good ole demo job. Went fast. Nice work Chris as always.
