I appreciate the advice. I dont have much experience with this. I know you know something about this.I have a nothing special vortec headed 355 coming up that a plan on shifting at 7000 rpm. It has a camshaft with 254/260 degrees @.050 lift with a 106 lobe separation. Im first going to run it with my th350 that has a tci 3500 stall converter. Then again with a powerglide with 8 inch a1 converter that should stall around 5500 rpm. Thanks again.

Did you upgrade the rocker arms for .525 lift? Im running sum 8802 roller cam basically its the Lt4 hot cam. I was told i need to upgrade to roller rocker self align due to factroy ones only holding up to about .480 lift
No with the solid lifter lash im around .500 lift. I haven't had a problem with the stock vortec rockers until about .540 lift. If you have the stock vortec rockers you shouldn't have any problems.

Block is from the 70's a Older sbc 3970010 block with vortec heads. Thank you.

Its been a while but I think the are jegs 2 1/4 inch mufflers.
Did you pin the rocker studs or just leave them alone?
I left the rocker studs alone.

@Nyle Green I just had a hydraulic flat tappet go bad after 10 min during break in. I was so angry.
