Trying out different wood, even different sources of basswood, has taught me a lot. Just finished my first cottonwood bark piece, and I'm whittling some butternut now. Fun.
Thanks for the whittling woods compilation of woods to whittle! I would like to get my hands on some eastern white pine. I have carved white fir, though, it is very sappy! Enjoyed the video!

I have carved cottonwood bark in the past (not recently). I have to give it another go sometime. Butternut is lovely wood! Thank you. 👍✌

Wanted to ask if you have an online source you prefer to buy your bass wood from?
I have used heineckewood.com/ in the past. I believe many carvers get there basswood from Heinecke Wood. 👍✌
