    *FINALLY* a recent video of someone going through this! I’m hyperactive with Grave’s and am in the process of scheduling my RAI treatment. My mom had the same thyroid problems as me and also did RAI years ago. It makes me pretty anxious but I really don’t like the way I’ve been feeling lately. Surgery is also not an option. I hope you’ll keep us updated on them process! Much luck and love to you! ♥️

      LOL I know how you feel when you want to see an up to date video and a follow up on what happened! So my results came back saying that I have graves disease however my doctor didn't want to settle for that so she ran more test and I actually have a brain tumor that's causing my thyroid and hormones to act up. I have updated videos explaining everything and the exact findings. My thyroid scan results ua-cam.com/video/FFibjZL9J_I/v-deo.html & My Brain tumor results and update ua-cam.com/video/R25kMKn9VKA/v-deo.html I hope this helps I know it can be frustrating. Good luck to you!

      Love_Taunya I did watch your video about your doctor wanting to do more testing to figure out exactly what was going on, I haven’t watched your videos on the tumor yet but despite that being the reason I’m glad you’re okay! I’ll definitely go watch them. Thanks for replying!

    Wow I was in another person video comments and I click on yours! Never thought I would reach someone with thyroid problems in a comment section! First let me say I have been having thyroid problems since 2010! It has been a real struggle! I have Hashimotos.. its an autoimmune thyroid disease! It makes you hypo, with A WHOLE LOT of other issues! So I can relate! It’s a struggle! I take levothyroxine and liothyroinine manage it! Just want you to know you are not alone! There is not enough thyroid awareness out here! Great video!!

      Thank you for reaching out! My thyroid issues are all new to me and hopefully soon I will find out what’s causing it. I had this test done because my doctor thinks it’s Graves’ disease. I’m praying for the best though because I want to start trying to conceive again. Thank you for watching!

    Girl..I wanted to cry and hug you when I saw this video. I had thyroid cancer so I had a total thyroidectomy and now have to do RAI and the scan. I’m claustrophobic, am terrified of not being able to breath, have an intense gag reflex so my incision bothers that and my neck is so sensitive. This whole experience has been ALL of my fears. All of them. I’m terrified of the scan. I start the RAI on the 15th and have my scan the 20th

    What brought me to your video is that I'm in the process of being scheduled for a nuclear medicine scan of my parathyroids and thyroid glands. Nodules / Adenomas were found via ultrasound so they need to assess the extent of the issue. Found that I have hyperparathyroidism and hypercalcemia through a routine wellness check / blood test, and comparing with previous results. Just waiting on insurance authorization for the cost factor.
    I hear what you're saying. MRI's (that's the device that thumps, buzzes, clicks and is very confining) are challenging for long duration scans even if you don't have claustrophobia. My last one to take scans of my brain due to a vision issue I'm dealing with took 2.5 hours to complete. I just kept my eyes closed and tried to focus on meditation techniques. I took some Ativan that the MRI techs supplied me with simply due to the amount of time I was to be in the machine.
    When they were done and slid me out of it, I was extremely grateful.

    I'm so frightened to do RAI and have a scheduled uptake and scan in a little over a week. I've got Graves too but would like to stick to antithyroid drugs like Methiamizole and also look for natural supplements to treat it. I really don't want to do the radioiodine. Pretty scared.

    • @LoveTaunya
      @LoveTaunya  5 років тому +3

      Hi! The test wasn't bad at all, it was completely painless, if anything it just takes up time really lol. My results did confirm that I had Graves, however, my Endo did catch that my other labs were not consistent with a person who has Graves, so she ran additional labs and found out that my Prolactin levels were high. She sent me for an MRI and found out that I have a small brain tumor that's actually causing hormonal imbalances and was the cause of my positive results of this Radioactive Iodine test. I have videos about my who process since this test hopefully it can help you. I will pray for the best for you and I hope you find the perfect treatment for you. Thank you for watching!

      @@LoveTaunya I cannot thank you enough for responding to me! It means so much to get a response from someone who is going through something a little similar! I see, so I've decided to kind of stick with Methiamizole. Since you were able to discover the cause of your hormonal imbalances would you suggest that I undergo the uptake and scan? *Sidenote I also have an awful gag reflex and fear taking the pill and being anxious :/

    • @LoveTaunya
      @LoveTaunya  5 років тому +1

      You're welcome! I know how it is to want a response back lol especially when something is new to you. I would follow the instructions of your doctors. I don't know your medical history but if it would make you comfortable maybe ask for additional labs to be done to see if anything else is noticed or going on that may be manifesting to look like Graves. My doctor really took time to go over my medical history and decided to do a full workup on me as if I were a new patient and she was very proactive in sending me for additional test when needed. I am also terrible about taking pills I usually have to push them down with my finger but the pill for this test wasn't that bad.

    Well , I was diagnose in January after a blood test numbers were low TSH so I was diagnose hyperactive. I actually do not have the symptoms
    that come with being hyperactive. So more blood test were done just in case the first was not false positive. So, my numbers came back lower than the first they rule out graves, so next step was to get ultrasound they did find nodule's that were large with vascular flow. So , next step was the uptake went through the same that you did still haven't got my results back yet or has my doctor called me so just waiting and hopefully they will be good results and finally figure out what's going on with my thyroid.

      Danny, I'm dealing with the same thing, 12 years of going to a primary doctor who would tell me my TSH and T#'s were not low enough for something to be done. Now, my numbers are low enough for the additional testing. I will be taking the pill on Monday for the uptake test, and scanning on Tuesday. The Endocronologist advised I don't have Hoshimoto's d based on test however, believes I have inflammation, and nodule(s). She feels the test will show said results, and is recommending after reading results to come back and have the nucular medicine totally kill off my thyroid at which point, I'll need to take medication(a pill) for the restnif my life. I pray your result cime back soon, and all is okay.
