    Same. I just had my radioactive iodine therapy for my hyperthyroidism a week ago and just a few days later I started to have symptoms of overactive thyroid. I concerned this to my endocrinologist, he advised me to have my thyroid hormones checked again and yup, results are high so im back with my medication. To whoever readingt this battling in whatever medical condition, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are healed. Amen. ❤

    Hi Sarah, greetings from Australia. I found you via gluten free recipes and became interested in your Graves disease journey. My eldest daughter also has Graves, diagnosed in her late 20's, and late last year it went a bit haywire, like you her HR spiralled and all the other stuff that goes with it, anyway she is booked for radioactive iodine on 11 July and like you she is stressed and nervous, but you seem much better 5 weeks later so hopefully you both will have good outcomes! All the best to you you, take care of yourself. 💐🤗🇦🇺💐

    I was diagnosed with an over active thyroid 8 years ago but despite being pushed by my doctors have refused Radioactive Iodine Treatment so far.
    I recently went on a low iodine diet (avoid dairy products in the UK, avoid iodised salt in the US) and that has really helped me manage it better to the point where I no longer have hyperthyroidism. I also made other changes like stopping smoking, reducing stress in my life, changing to a low carb diet. Good luck all.

      Hi. Same story as you (please see my comment above). I'm thrilled to hear you've gone the natural route too. Do you avoid gluten? I find giving up gluten hardest.

    • @Charlie_Ses
      @Charlie_Ses Рік тому +2

      @@peterbennett1499 Yeah I tend to avoid gluten just as part of avoiding carbs tbh. I don't mind missing it, though I do still allow myself to indulge occasionally so it's not too bad. Good luck with your health, glad you have found a diet that works for you

      I've removed EVERYTHING from my diet. No YEAST, WHEAT, DAIRY SOY or carbs. It definitely helped my levels. But out of no where my levels went up. I'm currently trying to figure out what I did wrong 😕

    • @Charlie_Ses
      @Charlie_Ses Рік тому +1

      @@DianaHernandez-sv5yz Oh no. Yes thyroids seem to be very sensitive when they go wrong. Have you started consuming anything you didn't used to that might have iodine in? Maybe supplements or something? Or have there been any other changes to your lifestyle recently?

    So glad that you have done these wonderful videos. You are just so lovely! It's so important that someone who is as intelligent and articulate as you talks about this matter. I have an enlarged goitre and Graves disease but at the moment I'm trying to manage it naturally and am working with a nutritionist. It takes time and effort and it's early days but it seems to be working. But I really appreciate your first hand account on surgery and RAI as I might go down that road too one day. Hope you feel better now and would love to know how you are doing now? Many thanks.

      @@lynej2011 Really, really well. It took about 7 months for my thyroid levels to start to improve and I have now been in remission for over 9 months so far. It was just a matter of making changes to my diet, cutting out gluten, dairy and processed food and taking a couple of supplements. I feel really happy and relieved that I didn't take the drugs or have RAI or surgery. Fingers crossed that I can maintain this.

    Such a shame that modern medicine only pump medicine into patients and never look at the root cause of why so many women develop thyroid and hormonal disorders. All that medicine sadly ends up to make things worse over time and start to push other imbalances. Wish you the best and hope you can find a holistic endocrinologist 🙏

      @A N - I agree. There are many holistic "experts" who try to sell their clients stuff they don't need. It's important to find good and specialised holistic therapists or nutritionists. Modern medicine works so some extend, but sadly never heals the issue. I myself had hormonal problems in my early 20s and thyroid conditions , but decided to try the holistic way for 6 months, and it all cleared out. Now 2 decades later I have never had any issues again. Never took the medicine prescribed to me back then. But made important food and lifestyle changes.Modern medicine only treats the symptoms , and quick to give medication.... this only makes the patient dependent on the medicine instead of healing the root cause of the disease. It's abnormal for a young person your age to get sick with graves. Just as it was abnormal for me when I was in my 20s. Often food, lack of minerals, lifestyle, stress, pesticides in foods and processed foods lead to thyroid conditions. This can indeed be healed in early stages before it develops to something serious. I am my own case study. This is why I changed career back in the days, and went all in with what I do today. Sending hugs your way .

    I had this treatment at 26 I had all those symptoms you mentioned and it was so scary they couldn’t get it under control and I ended up having the treatment you had I am49 now I’m ok I take thyroxine everyday
    One thing I do have now is Reynards syndrome where my fingers and toes get really numb that’s definitely something to do with the medication I also gain weight easily so I have to exercise.
    I wish I would of tried to improve my thyroid without the treatment but I was young and very scared as my symptoms were very extreme

      It will work but took me at least 3 months and then a bit of yoyo on finding the best dose. I'm at just about a year now and fairly stable. So don't let them rush you and change dose very gradually not in big jumps.
