I love this device! The screen is gorgeous, controls are great. It is a high-quality device, not some cheap plastic. I opened mine up to take a look inside and it is super clean. I have Batocera installed on it and every system's screen ratio is setup automatically with some nice bezels on the sides. Touch screen works on the Linux side while using Batocera too.
The Retroid Pocket 3+ is okay but I'd run with a Odin Lite or save up for a Odin Pro instead. Unisoc T618's can only barely play PS2 and GameCube games.
@@PridetoonsI alternate between my Steam Deck and RG552. Both are comfortable, neither is pocketable so really it’s whichever is nearby when I want to play.
It may have a little more power but still has problems with demanding PSP and N64. If those consoles are the ones you are really trying to emulate those gaming systems you may want to pass on this handheld. But a decent if you want to play low end PSS and N64 and other systems then might be a good one to get if you do not mind the cost of the handheld.
I'm looking for an emulation console that plays every emulator including Virtual Boy, N64, 3D0, Sega Saturn, 32x, CD, Dcast, Naomi, Dolphin, and AtomisWave. And runs them well with around 70k games for around $150. Is that possible? Does it exist?
Does this come with ps1 ps2 a d gamecube games ready to play. I only ask cause I wa t to play zelda windwaker ocarina of time mgs 1 mgs 2 and ny4 games...
Not worth it imo. Retroid pocket 3+ still trumps it and is significantly cheaper. Asthethically this looks nicer. But in terms of emulation it doesnt look worth it to me. But nice to see abernac is stepping up
@@colin7225 Well he does, and we don't care, so the answer is maybe yes. I have this device and I can stream Steam to it so I'd imagine XBOX could work?
@@Cyko.. hi, it runs android os doesn't it? And has wifi, I'm hoping I can install the xbox app onto it. It uses 2.5 gig hz wifi I think, do you get stable streaming with it? Thanks. Oh also, does it have a nice crisp display good clours?
Not that lower. Even not considering the screen sizes. edit: wrong comment, I was thinking about another handheld. Yes you're right, the RP3+ also performs better.
@@Pridetoons correct but this also barely plays ps2 and gamecube makes the extra money not worth the investment. Fyi i prefer bigger screens but I cant afford the steamdeck.
Yes, it is quite good. But: battery life is awful. it lasts only a few hours. Even when turned completely off my RG552 drains battery. I am not sure wether this is "normal" or not. Beside this: Very nice device. Love the screen. Best device to play android games, too
Personally I feel like these Anbernic handhelds are over hyped and overpriced. Maybe I just don't get it 🤷 I literally spent 25$ on a cheap retro handheld device and added a bunch of different games to it, and deleted the crap I didn't want to play. Overall it's a pretty good little system that spent less than 50$ on.
I have bought many Anbernic devices over time and what keeps bringing me back is the great quality Anbernic delivers compared to some other handhelds that feel kind of cheap. There's a reason for Anbernic's popularity in the community.
I have it and love it! Recommend.
Still one of my favorite Retro Gaming devices!
Putting Batocera on an alternative sd-card made a world of difference for me.

love this device, best screen out of all the handhelds, linux and android is awesome, actively cooled, controls are top notch!
505 is better imo
dual boot still makes it an interesting option
Dual Boot makes it the best Handheld for Retro Gaming IMO. I'm done with these disposable Android Handhelds.
Yes it does, but I still have to figure out how to configure retroarch.... 😂
Looks good, I'm after a handheld atm around this price range, but would possibly pull the trigger on the Retroid Pocket 3+ instead
That's a nice choice.

@@Pridetoons That's in another price league tho.
@@jimbotron70If you actually want to play full speed PS2 Emulation you need to break out your Wallet.
@@Pridetoons Yes, however PS2 emulation is not my objective as of today for handhelds, no sensible prices to me, anything up to PS1-N64 is ok.
Love your channel, which handheld is your favorite and you would mostly recommend?
Steam Deck
@@Nickbaldeagle02Nobody wants to play NES, SNES, Genesis, or PC-Engine games on a Steam Deck.

the best one for 32 bit and below (16 bit over others). Best screen in the market , d pad, buttons and form factor
The only issue I seen so far beside WiFi being slow and having no bt. Is with a headset plugged in you can hear constant line noise it’s horrible!

Good review. If I was looking for a powerful handheld system, I think Id get this one.
the main drawback: it's hot, almost too hot when running
pros: large and good screen, hdmi output
It's a good portable handheld. Good review and cool video Wicked!👉😃👈
Awesome 👍👍
I can use proton os on thath?

What do you recommend to play dk64 and other 64 games?
I should look into Windows gaming.
Or just a second hand steamdeck.

The package intro 😢
Doesn't RP3+ have most of these features(exclude dual boot and touch screen) at a much lower price?
Not that lower. Even not considering the screen sizes.
edit: wrong comment, I was thinking about another handheld. Yes you're right, the RP3+ also performs better.
The RG552 has a 5:3 Touchscreen which makes the device better for Retro Gaming. Besides the RP3+ can barely play PS2 and GameCube games.

It's normal for its obsolete, power sucking chipset.

Does it run Dolphin, and if it does, are the frame rates acceptable? Low resolution is fine as long as it doesn't stutter?

Yes

the pricepoint is maybe worth it, but more than i wanna spend on gaming honestly.
