  • I get a package in the mail with some really cool stuff in it. I start treating rust and undercoating. I mock up a super cool under hood light strip. Fix my roommates Nissan Altima. Jimny Sierra SJ410 SJ413

    Truly cool to hear that you ordered a new carburetor. If it works out well, put the Weber out for sale hoping someone will have better use of it than your Samurai.

    I have the same light strip on mine and put it under the hood. I just curved it back so it extends down the sides a tiny bit. I am able to close the hood and it sits tight against the lights but doesn't damage anything. I wired it to an ignition switched wire so it comes on as a daytime running light.

      @@BA-jr9wr That's cool. I bet you get people asking about it?

      Oh yea, especially since it's hooked up as a running light on an older car. The moving lights are cool...just sicks you can only do it on power up.

      @@BA-jr9wr Yeah, I'm sure there's a way to make it keep pulsing, like maybe power it through a timer relay that automatically resets, or find a flasher relay that resets every 2 seconds with that load. That would be an interesting experiment because LED's usually draw less power, I wonder how it would react to the flasher relay. You know how when 1 turn signal goes out they flash quicker with less load, might be able to add resistors to get the right load so it resets at the correct time.

    Yes, the light strip is totally nerdy but if it turns off when the engine starts away cooler than a beep-beep chirp when the alarm turns off.

      @@BorisEkner Yeah it would be neat. There would be alot of possibilities with a remote start alarm. Can't do it with carburetor though.

    The adjustable wrench is one of Swedens worst inventions. It’s an emergency tool at its best as it makes nuts and bolts round. It’s crap.

    • @FixLife119
      @FixLife119  Місяць тому +1

      @@BorisEkner The really good brands have very little play in the mechanism so they only round off 50% of nuts and bolts. I think Project Farm did a test on all the different brands. If you've never seen that channel he tests everything.

      Project Farm is where bad products come to die. 😂
      The adjustable wrench many of us use today was invented by Johan Petter Johansson in Sweden in 1892. His company, Bahco, has manufactured more than 100 million of them. Others have made copies of them in the millions.
      At the time of his death Johanson had 110 patented inovations.

      @FixLife119  Місяць тому +1

      @@BorisEkner 110 patents is pretty impressive. Think how much easier it would have been back then to invent something. Nowadays almost everything has been invented. Occasionally I'll see a new invention that's simple and has a purpose and I'm like dang, why didn't I think of that.
