Well, I guess since Burger King is owned by Restaurant Brands Inc. which is based in Canada, that could qualify the American chicken sandwich as international.
This man has an uncanny knack for delivering an almost 20-minute assessment of a fast food sandwich as if it’s an exciting gourmet meal. Gotta love him. 😂
When he started describing the desire to ride on one of these long sandwiches like a skateboard, I lost it. That was the last thing I thought he'd ever say, and it caught me so off guard
Id imagine thats his enthusiasm for food in general. His taste bud has evolve so much that tasting food require effort much like skateboarding. If you do the food right its enjoyable but still arduous task. If you cook it badly its going to be like grinding your ball sacks on hard pavement after you fall off the board doing tricks.
To be fair to BK, the 'Torta' is what we call sandwiches in Mexico and the bread is also of the long shape variety. In fact, I'd say BK was pretty close to a typical torta if it would just add shredded lettuce, some sliced tomato , potato and avocado.
That's what I thought, maybe a smear of refried beans too. While obviously it's fake, it's at least reminiscent of an actual torta. The Italian and 'French' versions are way more fake, since those countries don't have anything like this.
How dare you even call this sandwich anything close to a torta, this thing is almost an insult, it's nothing close to a torta expect for maybe the bread.
Ham and Swiss would bring to mind a lazy cook’s version of chicken cordon bleu. But that dish and its variations are Swiss and were probably invented in the 1940s. French is of course one of the usual languages in Switzerland and there’s some overlap with French cuisine, but calling it Swiss would have been more accurate.
Wow! I've been to Mexico a number of times, and in all my trips I've never seen anything quite as "Mexican" as this sandwich. I think the King of Burgers should have actually gone to Mexico before he invented this sandwich.
@@codystephens5939 I’ve had tortas before, and trust me they are delicious and spicy, nothing like the spongy chicken sandwich Burger King is selling. Finally most are served with a bread that has a bit of a crunchy crust. Man, I’m getting hungry just thinking about eating one.

Now you know how us angry whopper fans feel. What's funny is the angry whopper is still sold in Mexico and still very popular. They should've brought it back and called it the Mexican whopper
I think it would have been better for them to use grilled chicken and put it on flatbread instead. I get salt is often used for preservate and flavor, but I swear BK must have a deal with "big salt" with how much it seems to pop up. Enjoyed the review!
For real on that salt. Haven't had one in a while, but had been eating them since the 70's. BK Classic/Original chicken sandwich is a salt bomb. Not sure if they got worse over the years, but I remember sometime around 2009 thinking "Dang, were these ALWAYS this salty, and if so, what the hell was wrong with me?" 🤣 As a little kid I loved these international chicken sandwiches and was a mark for the hype, US-Italy-France, so cultured! 🥳
If you can't go to Mexico, and you have never had a "Mexican chicken sandwich" find a Mexican stand or restaurant that serves Tortas, get a milanesa de pollo, on a lovely telera roll, and have them add queso and jalapenos along with anything else you want, skip the BK - thank me later.

Burger King needs to bring back the chili cheeseburger sandwich served on a hoagie bun. It had its run in the the mid nineties; and was somewhat addicting (especially if you loaded it up with toppings). 🍺
Oh man, I used to order 4 of those for lunch with a large fry and drink back in the day, those things were amazing! I can share a recipe with you for a chili cheese burger if you want. You get a couple cans of chili with no beans, a package of hoagies, a tub of sour cream, and cheese. Put as much chili on the bun as you can fit then add cheese and dip them in the tub of sour cream and you have a good meal. I literally made this two weeks ago and killed 6 of them in like an hour lol and wiped the sour cream out even.

$5+ I usually get mediocre quality burger buns, but I tune it up by toasting it a little. I get chicken patties, not just slapping in the microwave, but frying them, making them crunchy. Of course, I make my own sauce, ranch, ketchup, garlic salt, garlic paste, and Red Gold (Hungarian paprika paste). I put it on the lightly toasted buns. Of course, don't forget the shredded mozzarella, melting it on the chicken patty in the frying pan. Slap it together. I found an alternative to Pepsi, which costs only about 35% of the big brand. (Broadwalk cola.) The taste is extremely close to Pepsi. The whole thing costs about 1.20, maybe 1.50 at the top, depending on the patty brand.

Ya know, the intro he gives made me think, I’d really love to see McDonald’s’ US locations bring back their limited time selection of various items usually only sold at locations in different countries, just with all different things than last time. They really knocked that promotion out of the park, and I can’t be the only one who wishes they would give it another go-’round.
Original chicken sandwiches are exactly like cafeteria food level, definitely agreed. Even the new Royals aren't that good. The limited time Ch'King was actually really good but BK likes to be as mediocre as possible
Everyone remember reviewbrah came up with the chicken sandwich long board skateboard first so if in the future any fastfood commercial tries it they owe him
I had one last week. I was slightly underwhelmed, but part of that could have been from the preparation. The bun was burnt on top and there wasn't much of the spicy cheese sauce. The patty was kinda dry too. I did get an abundance of the fried jalapeno chips though.
1. Everything (queso, chicken, bun, jalapenos) seems outrageously dried out. How long under the Heat Lamps? 2. Way better fast food choices for ~6bucks 3. Reviewbrah needs a nail trim, unless he plans on going rogue and polishing them to look all pretty & alluring
I skipped ahead and he's talking about enlarging this sandwich to 3 feet in length putting wheels on it, and riding it like a longboard. Absolutely exquisite.

I wish they would do a chicken tikka masala sauce
That would be a banger 😋
You trust Burger King with that? 😂
@Ryan Richey I would rather Chick-fil-A add it to there sause selection
Why tf every "Mexican" food gotta use Queso. Every since I moved to Kentucky from California, every non Mexican person drowns their shit in Queso
You’re always on top of these reviews lol. Can count on you!! 💕
"Goin in"🤣🤣 gets me every time 💜
This is a "King de Pollo" as it is called in Mexico! Is very delicious!
Original chicken sandwiches are exactly like cafeteria food level, definitely agreed. Even the new Royals aren't that good. The limited time Ch'King was actually really good but BK likes to be as mediocre as possible
Everyone remember reviewbrah came up with the chicken sandwich long board skateboard first so if in the future any fastfood commercial tries it they owe him
Happy to see you! Thanks for posting!
I love the cheese down at one end - sauce or whatever it is. Taco Bell quality control hit me right away.
Always a pleasure to see a new video. Looking forward to your next podcast, I listen to your podcasts as I fall asleep.
I use to eat the original chicken sandwich at BK a lot, so I'm interested in trying!
I still like those. This sandwich is just that one, with the queso and jalapeños. I know what he means about the saltiness.
Agree, the original chicken sandwich has been at BK for a very long time. The Italian came and went.
I had one last week. I was slightly underwhelmed, but part of that could have been from the preparation. The bun was burnt on top and there wasn't much of the spicy cheese sauce. The patty was kinda dry too. I did get an abundance of the fried jalapeno chips though.
Mexican here… I totally agree with this review.
I am a Mexican as well, I also approve
1. Everything (queso, chicken, bun, jalapenos) seems outrageously dried out. How long under the Heat Lamps?
2. Way better fast food choices for ~6bucks
3. Reviewbrah needs a nail trim, unless he plans on going rogue and polishing them to look all pretty & alluring
Completely right about Burger King internationally, pretty popular in Germany, a couple of my friends there were obsessed
I skipped ahead and he's talking about enlarging this sandwich to 3 feet in length putting wheels on it, and riding it like a longboard. Absolutely exquisite.
I'd PAY to see you on Hot Ones!!!
And all you do is review the sauces
