Why do I keep watching these videos? I stopped eating all fast food and started keto months ago to lose weight... I've been fasting for 3 days. ..... And still, I watch...
I had one yesterday… the spices were really nice. The chicken did have a bit of a tough texture at the surface, and i think that is because, even though it is not heavily battered, it IS fried. And tbh i didn’t even mind the texture. It might be the novelty of it, but I might even like it more than the original.
The for "blackened " the seasoning is supposed to create a crust texture when cooked. It seemed he thought the whole thing was chewy and not just the outside.
This one is a winner for me. I'm a huge fan of the blackened tenders. The spice that they use for the blackened on top of the spicy mayo for the sandwich is just great.

Reviewbrah totally got me with that IDK meal switch up. I said aloud the chicken sandwich but had to do a double take when he didn’t say it along with me. This is my favorite comment ever I think. After reading it, I literally shrieked with glee because my little corneas have never processed a paragraph so droll. Within the time it took for the image to be processed by my eyes, travel through my central nervous system, and eventually understood by my cerebral cortex, my eyes had to perform two double takes. This amounted to a total of four (4) takes. Just thought you’d know.

Terrific review. My niece works at a Popeye's, tells me that they cook them as long as the other sandwiches with breading. Maybe that's why they are tough. Many complaints.

I've been getting the five piece blackened tenders ever since Popeye's started offering them...they are always hot, moist and juicy, because they don't cook them until they're ordered and it takes 3-4 minutes extra to get them, but well worth the wait, to me...those blackened tenders paired with their blackened ranch dip is my favorite fast food meal! I wouldn't want a bun getting in the way of that! I think they should offer the blackened ranch dip in a bit thicker sauce for those who want this sandwich, instead of mayo only...just sayin'! I'm sure if the blackened fillet in this sandwich has been cooked awhile, like on the ride home, it would probably lose some of the moisture and get tough...
That's the one thing about Daym Drops he has on Reviewbruh, he knows better than to take the food home. By the time you get home that shit's going to be cold. He eats it right out in the parking lot in his vehicle, the same way I do. Try taking Taco Bell tacos home. They turn into pure mush before you open the wrapper.
Every one I've had has been tough like his. I have to bite and thrash like a wild dog in an effort to tear off some flesh. It's a sandwich that requires a steak knife.
I have to say I've tried the blackened chicken and in my experience it wasn't nearly as rubbery and quite tender. I also got the spicy version which for me elevated the flavor. Overall a solid 8 for me. Great Review!
Lol. As a huge fan of Popeyes for decades, first thing that pops in my mind is “fried chicken & biscuits”. Not the chicken sandwich. So I was surprised that we weren’t in unison. But then, I always marched to my own drum. 😉 Love, love this show and adore our gracious host. ♥️

The pickles and roll were in harmony. Popeye's is so inconsistent, I'm sure it varies by location and time of day. I went right at lunch rush.

I just had it and granted my Popeyes sucks and has incompetent workers it was dry as a bone, the chicken was tiny. Didn't even cover the whole bun and of course the morons at mine out ZERO toppings or condiments on it. Door dash order too.

Reporting back. I had it tonight. Exact same problem. Chicken was terribly tough and chewy. The chicken consistency was very much like wet Jerky. It really was perfectly seasoned. But the only the outer parts of the chicken were edible

their chicken sandwiches have had a weird rubbery quality to them since they struggled to meet demand when they first came out with the sandwiches. They probably got a new supplier that injects something to pump up weight.

In 2020 they took away the select breakfast items that used to be sold all day and you could only get them during breakfast. The bagels have been gone for a long while and I don’t think they are coming back here. In the 618. The only good thing at McDonald’s that’s worth the price is the triple cheese imo and that still only gets me going 1 time a month.

My Popeye's asked me for classic or spicy when I ordered this sandwich. Definitely went with the spicy. It was juicy and tender, but the saltiest damn sandwich I have ever had.

Surprisingly to at least me, I never found Popeye chicken rubbery and actually have it my top fried chicken chain I've ever had. Popeyes does lean towards a very thick chicken paddy, maybe to thick.....Great review

After your review I went to my local Popeye’s to try this Blackened Chicken Sandwich. I didn’t see it in the menu board inside the restaurant. But they did have it. I wasn’t bad. But in addition to having pickles when I asked to not have pickles, it was a bit chewy. Plus, the bun was probably 1/3 larger than the piece of chicken. Flavor was good.
I got excited to see the title have blackened and reviewbrah in the thumb nail but was a bit saddened to see its a sandwich review.....one can only hope
I got this last week and mine was perfectly cooked, tender, etc. I liked it so much I got another one at a different Popeyes a few days later and it was just as good. For me it's their best chicken sandwich yet, and I was a big fan of the original.
I got one the first day it was available and had a similar issue with toughness and dryness. The original blackened tenders are so good, I almost want to ask them to swap them for the cutlet on the sandwich.
I was on postmates last week planning on getting just a regular chicken sandwich from good ol popeyes and I saw this and decided to get it instead, Thankfully Reviewbrah just got an unfortunate cut of chicken because mine was perfectly edible, my only complaint was that it was very salty, now that could just be because of the pickles but it is quite a savory sandwich, hope this helps anyone decide if they want to pick themselves up one of these sandwiches.

It almost sounds like Woody chicken breast. I keep finding it in grocery store packs or occasionally in fast food sandwiches. It's the meat, it's somehow rubbery and crunchy and a little slime all at the same time. There are articles about it being an industry problem resulting from breeding bigger and bigger chicken tiddys.
You may be a bit young but technically Wendys started the whole chicken sandwich thing with the spicy chicken #6 I believe. Its been around since the 90's

their chicken sandwiches have had a weird rubbery quality to them since they struggled to meet demand when they first came out with the sandwiches. They probably got a new supplier that injects something to pump up weight.
I had this same texture problem with the WingStop chicken sandwich.

In 2020 they took away the select breakfast items that used to be sold all day and you could only get them during breakfast. The bagels have been gone for a long while and I don’t think they are coming back here. In the 618. The only good thing at McDonald’s that’s worth the price is the triple cheese imo and that still only gets me going 1 time a month.
In Nevada the in store breakfast menus have shown them for 4 years, but they've never been available.

My Popeye's asked me for classic or spicy when I ordered this sandwich. Definitely went with the spicy. It was juicy and tender, but the saltiest damn sandwich I have ever had.

@@noahahmed8247 even from my experience cooking blackened chicken at home, it’s really easy to make that spice rub too salty. It sucks that they didn’t test the ratios that much before sending it out

The one I got was very tough as was a co workers. Also the chicken patty was noticeably smaller than the breaded version.

Surprisingly to at least me, I never found Popeye chicken rubbery and actually have it my top fried chicken chain I've ever had. Popeyes does lean towards a very thick chicken paddy, maybe to thick.....Great review
Whole heartedly agree w his review. I just finished my second one of these since it was offered in my area. Both times had tough bite issues like he described. It’s a miss for me
After your review I went to my local Popeye’s to try this Blackened Chicken Sandwich. I didn’t see it in the menu board inside the restaurant. But they did have it. I wasn’t bad. But in addition to having pickles when I asked to not have pickles, it was a bit chewy. Plus, the bun was probably 1/3 larger than the piece of chicken. Flavor was good.

I got this last week and mine was perfectly cooked, tender, etc. I liked it so much I got another one at a different Popeyes a few days later and it was just as good. For me it's their best chicken sandwich yet, and I was a big fan of the original.
I got one the first day it was available and had a similar issue with toughness and dryness. The original blackened tenders are so good, I almost want to ask them to swap them for the cutlet on the sandwich.
I was on postmates last week planning on getting just a regular chicken sandwich from good ol popeyes and I saw this and decided to get it instead, Thankfully Reviewbrah just got an unfortunate cut of chicken because mine was perfectly edible, my only complaint was that it was very salty, now that could just be because of the pickles but it is quite a savory sandwich, hope this helps anyone decide if they want to pick themselves up one of these sandwiches.
I had Popeyes a couple weeks ago... I got the classic sandwich but I had the exact same experience it was dry and rubbery and I just felt like I got a bag sitting around batch...

It almost sounds like Woody chicken breast. I keep finding it in grocery store packs or occasionally in fast food sandwiches. It's the meat, it's somehow rubbery and crunchy and a little slime all at the same time. There are articles about it being an industry problem resulting from breeding bigger and bigger chicken tiddys.

In Japan, the Popeyes on the Navy base had a fried crawfish meal for awhile. It was so good. I wish they would bring it back.
You may be a bit young but technically Wendys started the whole chicken sandwich thing with the spicy chicken #6 I believe. Its been around since the 90's
