That's always difficult because every store is different, there's no uniformity anywhere I wish these companies would make uniformity a requirement even if it's a franchise and they don't I've gone to some Popeye's and some is great others are greasy cold it just depends on the employees working there
It's ONE of my favourite PARTS of the video! You can study his face and chewing but it's almost impossible to tell what his verdict is before he's done! Every time I watch the video I'm like "I'm gonna catch the moment he either likes it or doesn't like it"... but it never happens, the man has a poker face! :D I don't know why I enjoy it so much but I do!
To the point of even causing himself physical pain;I know he went through several dental procedures for a while,but he still kept putting out content despite possible pain and discomfort. Gotta admire the man's dedication.
Oh! I work at Popeyes. The bread gets buttered and toasted before assembly, the toaster dealie is probably responsible for the smashing tbh if not the way the buns are stored. I get my sandwiches free and unsmashed tho :p

@@MainComputer Yeah that can be a problem, the toasters don't get maintained very well and it can be a pain to make them actually toast. Also, wings etc are typically done in house, but sandwich fillets are brought in pre processed, battered and fried, so there is a case for corporate cheaping out, it can also depend on which distributor is sending in the meats cause I've seen a massive size difference from week to week.
I never comment on your reviews just because I don't eat a lot of fast food and when I go, I always get the same thing from only a handful of places. Don't be so hard on yourself because even if you don't like it, others will. We are all different. An honest review is something we can always count on from you. I thought it was outstanding. I’ve asked Popeyes officials since they released it, to add a cheese. The Havarti cheese was an excellent choice! They surprised me by also adding bacon! About time!! One note though.. I think the spicy version is just a bit better. Another flavor punch if you will. You got a stinker with the chicken filet. It isn’t all the time. The last one I bought was enormous!

This is what I have been seeing. As time has gone on the chicken patties have gotten smaller and smaller and more and more breading. They are making the chicken smaller to make more money. Completely agree with the review.
Yeah, remember when the phenomenon of its popularity took off and the lines were wrapped around for like 30 mins and the sandwiches were humungous! -Now it is like half the size.
I had the original sandwich once. It had a thing hanging off like yours and that thing was just breading on mine. The chicken sandwich also was more like a ball of chicken, a small golf ball of chicken.
He warned me about the news. I didn’t listen. My funeral will be on Tuesday. I hope some of you will attend. That bacon cheese combo was too shocking for me to survive.
It’s not your fault that fast food has really declined over the years, especially the last 3 years. Part of why I quit eating fast food is because it’s too expensive, not great and often it’s inconvenient because something is always wrong

I got one yesterday, but I got the blackened grilled spicy version, not fried, and it was delicious and a biiiiiiiiiig piece of chicken. Mine was easily a 9 out of 10.
This young man’s hands are “spider-like & elegant”. I will always come back for his personal, and honest reviews. I would like him to move on to more fine dining establishments. But I dig what he does ….I’m the meantime. (Helmet)
Used to love Popeyes but after Burger King bought then out they went down hill A LOT. The prices got higher but portions got smaller and quality got worse. It's 13.99 for a 5 strip meal, if they were the original strips I'd probably except it but the new strips are smaller and don't taste as good. Really saddens me.
And the fancy soda machine was removed. The buy out killed Popeyes. Popeyes management should have stayed in place and fixed Burger King! But Nooo the garbage management will destroy Popeyes for profit and then wonder why it died!
Thank you for the review, I have noticed the chicken consistency at most of these fast food places is not great. They could use those smaller pieces of chicken in other products and make sure the cut of chicken is thick and consistent.

I saw another review yesterday. They ordered one fried and one blackened sandwich. They noticed the bkackened chicken was much thinner than the fried, but that was because of the excess batter on the fried version. they also noticed the bacon was not crispy. It is sad to watch the quality of the food at Popeyes continue to go down. It was once a favorite of mine but after getting overcooked and dried out food I stopped going.
Since Popeyes was bought out the food has declined. It was a great sandwich, but after the buy out it declined and my son and I lost interest. Corporate hacks cut back to increase profit no doubt and lost us. Oh the top flight soft drink dispenser also disappeared after the buy out!
Well KFC did have the double down with bacon and maybe cheese, didn’t they? I never did eat one. I guess it really wasn’t a normal sandwich as it used no bread, but used 2 chicken filets as the bread. Hints the name Double Down chicken sandwich.
Don't get the fish if it's anything like the fish sandwich that I tried there. It was nasty strong tasting and just plain strange, like someone pulled it out of a dumpster.

However i think that bacon and cheese on that would be absolute overkill. I guess it would be better on the non-spicy but I never get the non spicy because it just isnt as good. I also noticed that the fry to chicken ratio was off, but I actually enjoyed the fry bits with the sauce. Every time I've ordered the sandwich I'm more than full from it and i never get a side with it - just the sandwich itself. It's about $5.30 or so. Personally i think the spicy sandwich is really the best thing to order on the popeyes menu, especially when you look at the prices of their traditional fried chicken meals. Gas stations near me serve better fried chicken, sides, and more for a WAY better price. That can't be said for chicken sandwiches, spicy or not. You usually get one of those thin, miserable chicken patties. Overall i think that the popeyes chicken sandwich is an interesting exercise in marketing. This concept isn't new at all, but being able to get food that isn't complete crap for a good price is getting harder and harder. What's next?!?! Hopefully not fish sandwiches because good god.....

I had a spicy Popeye's chicken sandwich again recently after not having one for about a year, and the sandwich was noticeably smaller. Small little chicken fillet. So dissappointing. I remember the sandwich when it first came out and for the first year it was so good because it was a big sandwich, that's one thing I loved about it. Popeyes, get your crap together! You had the best chicken sandwich and you're ruining it.
I tried this sandwich the other day and quiet enjoyed it. Lucky for me the good people at popeyes made the best mistake a fast food employee can make -- they forgot to charge me.
I hear Popeyes had astronauts on the International Space Station working hard on researching this sandwich for the past two years. Apparently, the havarti cheese and bacon can only be assembled with the chicken in micro-gravity. If your order takes some extra time at the drive-thru window take that into consideration. Atmospheric re-entry guarantees a warm sandwich at least.
Yes I had heard that this was a rumour but it turns out you've got the facts which is nice so it's a space chicken havarti bacon sandwich..... and my suggestion would be that it needs slices of tomatoes which is the best accompaniment to bacon

I was a sandwich sitter for 17 years but sadly most locations have gone to automation now.

I had a spicy Popeye's chicken sandwich again recently after not having one for about a year, and the sandwich was noticeably smaller. Small little chicken fillet. So dissappointing. I remember the sandwich when it first came out and for the first year it was so good because it was a big sandwich, that's one thing I loved about it. Popeyes, get your crap together! You had the best chicken sandwich and you're ruining it.

I hear Popeyes had astronauts on the International Space Station working hard on researching this sandwich for the past two years. Apparently, the havarti cheese and bacon can only be assembled with the chicken in micro-gravity. If your order takes some extra time at the drive-thru window take that into consideration. Atmospheric re-entry guarantees a warm sandwich at least.

Yes I had heard that this was a rumour but it turns out you've got the facts which is nice so it's a space chicken havarti bacon sandwich..... and my suggestion would be that it needs slices of tomatoes which is the best accompaniment to bacon
