The ascension mats even out. At first you got 1 at a time and needed 3, then you got 2 at a time and needed 6, and then get 3 but need 9. In all cases, you gotta spend 180 wave plates to ascend one character.

this is normal thing in gacha the stamina cost to ascend increases as ascension level increases, but the most important part is you get even more green and blue mats which makes it cost far less to upgrade lower level characters/weapons. this is just normal gacha ratio lmao

One quick tip for people rushing lvl 40, Dont rush untill you have pre farmed for your characters to lvl 70 at lvl U 36 i believe you should start to build your main dps and preparing matterials for lvl 70 becuz lvl 70 is expensive as hell if you rush youl have a really hard time farming the materials. So its a good idea to just pre farm your characters pre lvl. Your gana get to lvl 40 anyways in like a few days after you reach Ulvl 37. Note: 1.7mill shell creds is needed to get one character's whole kit to 70 so ye dont rush hahah
My advice for anyone playing a game with a "world level" system... only upgrade the level once you can DEMOLISH the content at your current level with at least a few of your units. Long term there is no benefit in rushing. At lower world levels you can play around a lot more and find out which units your really like.... the few extra "currency" you get IF you can clear the end game content every week is not that much.

Yeah, you are making more money... but you can't really buy more stuff... and while your clothes look a little better ... you can no longer go anywhere the the clothes you used to before and if the clothes (not "good" units) are not top tier.. better pretend you don't even have it... so it is less of a bonus and more of a requirement. Using HSR as an example... some people were struggling with the last boss because they didn't have the "right units"...but if you played the story without going up in world level (unless mandatory) ...you could clear it with Natasha, Yanking and MC ( I know because I made a new account around that time to reroll for Acheron and had to finish the story to get the events..so I did it all at low level) "ascensions for characters" can be a good argument if they enhance the gameplay and allow of more unique playstyles...but even then, only when you are sure and ready.

Also, you get a higher percentage of gold echo drops. So in that way, yes. But then there's the potential cost. If you have limited playtime, then killing slower will offset the benefit of more per kill. And rushing to 40 basically means burning your free refreshes, which then can't be used at the higher level, when they would net you more rewards. You will get more from the natural plate regen, of course, but the amount of xp needed to level up the world, compared to how much you get from the daily quest, is such that it will be a net loss. That said, it doesn't really matter. If you find the content too hard like ricardokojin7 is suggesting here, you can just tune the WL back down. Sure, changing the WL has a 12 hour cool down, but that just means you do what you can do at the current WL, then swap and do what you can't at the higher, before logging off and doing real world things, and then just adjust it again 12 hours later. And you can pre-farm what you need to ascend your main DPS at Focus 40, so you'll most likely still be able to demolish the open world regardless. Basically, you can keep living in Montana while working remotely in NY. And while the free refreshes would net you more if used later, six months from now, nobody will be able to tell the difference between an account that burned them in the 30-40 to range and one that used them at 40+.
Lv 40 its important mostly due to increased mats in forgery, tacet fields, boss drops, not because of the echoes drop rate which at the end of the day youll still have to tune them and RNG its ass in that matter. Oh and remember Data Merge has an increased chance for gold echoes. Imo is not bad to rush lv 40 at all, but its not a MUST.
One thing I do to help Echo farming is decreasing the world level. Not sure if it decreases EXP rewards, but when farming overlords/calamity bosses it makes things much faster and doesn’t increase 5-star chances
The real problem with the tuners is the blue ones. We cannot even GET blue echoes. There is a slim chance you get a good purple echo, but tuners for blue echoes are actually useless.
blue and purple will be obsolete once you go full gold echoes, I wish theres a way to make them gold version like synthesized higher rank using them as by product.
Man, you're really lucky hitting those 20%'s Also, imo leveling Echoes up to +15 only is abit "meh", My Chixia alredy have 3 perfect pieces with double crit and regen which appears everywhere it seems, and most of my crit stats appear on +20 or +25. The only reason people stop at +15 is because they don't wanna spend that much exp but from what I learned with Genshin and HSR is that you should just max that bitch and if it doesn't roll good you fodder it. That works alot better here too since instead of increasing substats you just roll for them, there's no bs like pentarolling on flat defense, you just get it once and then you can get maybe 10% crit rate or 20% crit dmg on the next roll.
I just want them to stop giving us more echoes (for events,battlepass and etc.) when its literally everwhere 😢. I think this is a fair judgement, not trying to sht on the game,
As far as enemy difficulty goes, do keep in mind you could have pre-farmed what you needed to up your main DPS to 70 before you ascended the world, or else do that as the very first thing after ascending the world level. That moment when you first ascend is a flash in the pan. As far as needing way more resources goes, that's not really tied to union level. By that, I mean it costs the exact same amount of resources to get a character to 60 as it did prior. And a bit less in the wave plate front, because you now you get more per wave plate spent (if only a little bit more). Now, yes, going from 60 to 70 costs quite a bit more than it does to go from 50-60, and upping the world level did allow you to do that. But that isn't something I'd lay the blame on the WL for. That's just the scaling of xp requirements.
Just go on the guide book and see the rewards don't have to farm to see the rewards directly.(idk if it's called guidebook top right second button that book looking thingy beside the event icon)
I have to say 20% chance to get purple echo at UL 40 feels like a punishment. Also Chixia rocks. I prefer to use her over Encoure in overworld. feels more comfy, clears the whole field with one burst, pistols are usefull for content etc.
Ik it feel so pain to grind these thing, but remember, they actually planned us to reach union lvl 80, we just hitting union lvl 40, like just half of the game. I hope they do have plan to have a better experience in farming later on
Well seeing union level 80 as the end, and level 40 as mid, the drop rewards increase isnt gonna be as impactful as we level up our union. I expect that every 10 levels give us a chance at 1/2 more of the main drop. So if we got 1 drop at level 20, a chance at 2 drop in level 30, guaranteed 2 drop at level 40, etc.

Planned ahead before 40 and gathered mats without using waveplates. Would really recommend doing so after units are already maxed out, made SOL3 Phase 5 a breeze
It would be really useful, if the echoes that we are going to trash, the possibility to use them as experience to level up the desidered echoes... If I want to level up three set of echoes for three different characters I can't because I am not rich to use all that amount of astrite to farm every material needed, so I have to plan my day with what i have to do lol

just give us the option to transform the purple tuners into golden ones in a 2 for 1 manner or so, and for fucks sake, let us use echoes as exp. Like lv 0 echoes that we get on overworld. And lower tacet field costs to 40 waveplates, please, it's too expensive.

Ironically the shock of losing the 20% to the 80% was kind of expected since I'm LVL 39, and even with enhanced drops being at 90%. I'm still somehow losing to the 10% and bosses not dropping anything unless it's the pity.

Honestly, if ur Jiyan is that crappy, then you are probably not building him right or have no echo levels. Chixia tbh feels or a bursty dps where you'll expect a downtime before you have everything set up. While Jiyan doesn't have that much downtime cuz the basic attack will shred pretty much anything as it has multiple hits, and the skill fairly having low CD makes it even more of a consistent dps than chixia.
M facing the same problem, game is good but echo system of dropping 4 star artifacts while farming for and getting some different elements on specific echo after 1 full whole run I got 1 good artifact and when I rolled it, it was too bad, grinding here is even harder then genshin

I feel like they should let the world scale to your average level or something, while keeping the bosses or special encounters as they are now, a challenge to your current maximum possible investment. This would give us a reason to max our fave chars and eventually all others just to style on bosses, but would still let us use anyone just to explore and not feel useless against a random grunt that's 60 levels above you for some reason. Or maybe that's just me hating on the entire leveling system as a whole, to me it doesn't make much sense now when we can make a much better immersive system that is not a simple numbers game.
Why does my data bank not unlock levels 19 and 20 when I reached level 40? Brother idk if the requirement for db 19 and 20 changes per region, but in sea UL 40 doesn't allow me to level up to data bank 19 and 20.

Honestly, if ur Jiyan is that crappy, then you are probably not building him right or have no echo levels.
Chixia tbh feels or a bursty dps where you'll expect a downtime before you have everything set up. While Jiyan doesn't have that much downtime cuz the basic attack will shred pretty much anything as it has multiple hits, and the skill fairly having low CD makes it even more of a consistent dps than chixia.

M facing the same problem, game is good but echo system of dropping 4 star artifacts while farming for and getting some different elements on specific echo after 1 full whole run I got 1 good artifact and when I rolled it, it was too bad, grinding here is even harder then genshin

I feel like they should let the world scale to your average level or something, while keeping the bosses or special encounters as they are now, a challenge to your current maximum possible investment. This would give us a reason to max our fave chars and eventually all others just to style on bosses, but would still let us use anyone just to explore and not feel useless against a random grunt that's 60 levels above you for some reason.
Or maybe that's just me hating on the entire leveling system as a whole, to me it doesn't make much sense now when we can make a much better immersive system that is not a simple numbers game.

Why does my data bank not unlock levels 19 and 20 when I reached level 40? Brother idk if the requirement for db 19 and 20 changes per region, but in sea UL 40 doesn't allow me to level up to data bank 19 and 20.

Its better to just farm bosses for materials. Since you get character xp, echo xp and weapon xp and boss character material.
