I was divorced, a 6/7 in attractiveness, a 24 BMI, 6'3", and 80th percentile in income at the age of 30, making me perhaps at the lower end of the top 25%. Dating online was insanely easy in the top 25%. Everyone I dated, including the one I married, I would have considered out of my league without the help of the apps. I agree a man in the bottom 50% probably has a hopeless situation in the world of online dating, but far more than 5% have it quite easy on these apps.

I recommend every guy to do A/B testing on his own profile. Try to check the difference it makes if you change photos, profession, height, bio, etc. But of course, one after the other to see it's respective effect. What I found was that the only difference by changing one of these features was in photos. 0 visible effect had profession (put a "senior" in front of my job title), height (had added 10cm to be in 10% of tallest men), bio (changed it to serious to funny).
