It’s almost scary how on the dot he is with predicting stuff.
Agreed. His ability to predict dialogue and events in plots of games is what makes him my favourite streamer.
I think it's something that comes with being a professional author.
It's also the fact that that the writing in these kinds of games tend to be so tropey and predictable, so if you've seen enough anime you tend to know what's going to happen next.
It's almost scary how predictable this game's writing is.

Ora Saikatsu Yeah pretty much. But they use the cliches well and make it more than just what's on the surface. The execution of it is well done.

It's hard being a fan of this game while also agreeing with every single criticism people have given it. You spend half the game laughing and the other half crying.

It’s hilarious seeing all the absurd scenes all next to each other. Plus his commentary/reactions were priceless
I think the best thing about his response to this game is that when he’s frustrated, it never sounds like “anger”, persay. It almost sounds like the kind of voice a disappointed dad would have.

@@shinypikagaming Yes it's an aux core called disguised pyra. Its functionally the same thing as a critical up 5. It's unlocked through the challenge battle dlc. You can also unlock 3 special blades though 2 are exclusive to challenge battles until post game. You can also put every character in swimsuits. Ironically pyra shows less skin in her swimsuit than her default outfit.

The game uses different artists throughout the game to create certain characters. The main party, that being Zeke, Rex, Nia, Morag, and Tora, and their respective blades, were designed by the main designer. Jin, and the rest of the Torna blades, were designed by Tetsuya Nomura, led artist of the FF, KH series, if that helps at all

the combat dialogue is the primary reason I changed the voices to Japanese for my playthrough. Makes it much more bearable. Also because Rex's english VA was apparently recording in his apartment with neighbors who kept complaining because he *cannot scream* and it made any somewhat intense moment just... just awful.

The vast majority of character designers in Japan got their start in hentai. Its literally how you break into the industry.

I mean, in Xenoblade 1 there's a whole sea just floating at the Bionis Head above Makna Forest. This makes about as much sense as that to me.
This is my only knowledge of xenoblade and this alone made me excited for Pyra and Mythra in smash
tbh this is probably one of my favorite games. When it's good, it's fucking amazing and when it's bad, it's so bad it's good. plus a very good combat system to boot.
I love this game. Say what you want about the anime stuff or what not, but the game has a lot of charm and fun moments, and the story gets pretty wild towards the end. I also love the combat system as well.
It's completely fine if you loved the game. Personally I enjoyed the scenery, music and post game combat but found the dialogue and animation exceedingly awkward which made many scenes hard to watch. I apologise if you feel that this video was made with malicious intent towards the game. I just made it for entertainment purposes.
PapaJohns Oh no. This is hilarious to watch. There are two types of cutscenes. One where it's more dynamic and cinematic, and one where they used preset animations. Due to budget reasons, most of the cutscenes use preset animations, which is used in every RPG. Stuff like that isn't really an issue. When it comes to the cinematics and action cutscenes, the Xenoblade games are amazing when it comes to cinematography, camera angles, and syncing the scenes with the kick-ass music. I think too many people focus on the stuff they don't like than appreciating the things this game does well.

I actually really liked this game. It did have its funny moments, but I thought that starting around chapter 6, it had a really good plot
It takes a bit to spin up, but it really uses the time well to build the characters and the world into something you actually care about
The voice acting killed the game for me. I didn’t know what the fuck they were saying but I had to go with the Sub.
I really got into it just before Vandahm was killed that’s when I got obsessed with the game.

Chapter 4 is complete filler, could've been completely cut from the game and it wouldn't have mattered...
Aside from that the plot is pretty decent and eventually gets pretty good (even if it relies a bit too much on the biggest plot twist set up by the original game near the end).

Bard88 What are you talking about? They didn't have to repeat much at all. They had quick recording sessions with each individual actor and they were able to finish everything within the span of 3 weeks.

I think if the devs said in an interview that this is actually a parody/satire of jrpg tropes, I would 100% believe them
me too. Honestly, tried out xenoblade 2 and the spin off game they made afterward and didn't like either. I think if I would've approached them as "so bad that it's good" I would've been able to tolerate the storytelling, might've had fun with it too who knows.

Watched the streams 2 times on YT and this Best Moments vid a few dozen times by now and it still manages to make me lough
This game’s funny tone for a lot of the game made the sad parts of the game sting so much more which is why I love the game’s story. It makes you laugh until your belly hurts and then it hurts your heart.

I love this game, but some of the parts just made me laugh my ass off. Like when the old man dies, and the blade becomes a core crystal, it’s sad... but then the game just cuts to the upbeat music, and I fucking laugh my ass off for the next 30 seconds
It's been just 2 weeks but it feels like years...still haven't finished the game yet, but enough to finish this video. Definitely some hilarious moments, and I like the little editing touches that make it more than just clips from the streams. Will probably be checking out the full stream at some point.
