It's very interesting to have a peak behind the scenes of your school and theatre! In the future videos, could you tell more about how your school is arranged? For example, in this video I've noticed there are two more people with a surname Hananomoto. I'm guessing it's because of the tradition of getting adopted to the family of your master when you start learning a craft. Nowadays, do you formally change your surname, with documents and all? Or is it more of a stage name? Or is it still a family craft, going from a generation to generation in a blood related family? Hope it's not too personal of a question.

Thank you for the question. The meaning of "school" we use is close to the meaning of "family". So we can use the same family name once we qualify. “CHINAMI HANANOMOTO” is my stage name, which I got from my teacher. To get a stage name you need enough NIHON-BUYO skills and a strong passion for NIHON-BUYO. No documentation required. And in many schools, I mean family, you can get a stage name regardless of your bloodline or nationality.

Yes. Nihon-buyo is said to reach maturity after the age of 60.☺️
