  • In this session of Counsel Culture, Nick Cannon and Dr. Umar Johnson sit down for their second session, to discuss the responsibility of the Black voice in the media. The two dissect the Hollywood troupe of Black men in dresses and even question if jokes have become too common of a coping mechanism in the community, and much more.

IDK who's attention span this catering to but I want the full 3hr version lol. good conversation both raised great points. These are definitely the kinds of conversations that need to be had and in terms of media representation, I think podcast are the lane that helps push these higher level conversations to the same audience that is most malleable. we just have to continue to be intentional and associate the correct behaviors with images and information we put out

Nip’s family was discussing a project based on his life as well. He may have deferred to them or another director/company. Look at what happened around the time the Trailer for the Sebi doc was released.
