Wow, and episode opening with a spoof from "The Prisoner" series? Such humor throughout, too! I almost lost it at the 13:00 mark when he tip-toes into the laundry to sneak out his addiction (and whispering to boot)! Too funny!!
Its kinda weird in hindsight how a running joke was how much Quinns loved expansions since nowadays with the kickstarter stuff it seems SUSD mostly find them annoying.

Village is solid, Village Inn is alright, but Village Port is truly amazing.
I have Village and the Inn expansion but was curious if adding another expansion would increase the play time greatly or not? I love the base game and agree the Inn was decent not amazing but add some depth to it.
It replaces part of the map with new one and few other elements. I wouldn't say it extends play time needed to finished the game. Major change is re-balance of travel of base game. I won't go back to base game after introduction of Port expansion.
After that intro I really, REALLY want to see a good board game based on "The Prisoner". :)
I worry that my ‘rewatching old SUSD reviews’ addiction is as bad as Quinns’ obsession with expansions. I need a Paul Dean intervention but preferably in daylight hours.
Love this game and love your beginning! I also love "The Prisoner". There is another expansion for the village, called Village Port! It adds ships and a overlay to the travel section that is water! To send out your products out in the world.
Huffing drugs/beating up dogs is an almost perfect description of life in my home town. Add "bothering old ladies with fireworks" & that's it, that's the whole town.

Those old reviews are absolutely fascinating to me. They are very close to 3615 Usul, a French show on video games back in 2011-2013. The blend of skits, parodies, critique... It's not an uncommon format on French channels, but I believe it is on English-speaking UA-cam.

this seems like a different version of Stone Age - but which should I get?
Two radically different games. Stone Age is the better game imo but it all depends what you're seeking. Stone Age is a gateway + game with a lot of use of dice with a more accessible Theme for families. But it can still be appreciated by hardcore gamers because it can be very strategic and tactical. Village is an excellent game but it needs the two expansions to really elevate it to greatness. It is also the more involved game with way more options and things to do.
