    Hello you two. What a crazy little splitter 👍🏼 I love it, 😂 …. Now don’t go working in the dark when the eclipse happens lol. Karen, wow. What a great job 👍🏼. You handled that splitter absolutely great 👍🏼. Now, Phil! He needs a little bit more practice on stacking, lol 😂.
    Great job, you two….

    Hello Phil and Karen. That's a cool piece of equipment. It's similar to buster.might not be as fast,but a all in 1 unit.after the videos I've seen of the old conveor breaking down....I think it would be a nice addition to the woodyard.invite family and friends over,run both.then put on a good old fashioned bbq dinner for everyone 😋 🍻

      We’ve been trying to figure out a good way to run both at the same time and get the wood stacked all at the same time . Gona have to pull in some help if we can put it all together but it would be a fun day for sure to do that .

    Great splitter/conveyor combo! I like what you said Phil, take the splitter to the wood 👏🏻👍🏻 Always nice to try out different equipment

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому

      That’s the key right there knowing each machines strong points . With that combo you don’t even need a machine to move wood around with . I can see a big row of tree length just start splitting at one end an stack on pallets as ya go or put it in big wind rows no tractor needed .

    Hello Phil and Karen. It’s about time one of these companies gave you something to try out in your. video. Did you check on Buster when you were using this splitter, I’ll bet he was a little upset with the Split Force for moving in on his territory. This could work out great, the both of you could be splitting wood at the same time. His and Hers splitters. Dam, you could drive that thing up to the garage to split wood in bad weather. Just let the conveyor run outside the building into the trailer. Thanks for another good video.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks DonO I don’t want ole buster getting jealous so we might run him for a video in between. We might try running both at once but we would need a few stackers to keep up cause I’m thinking the splits would add up fast . We figured if it rained to much we could rig up a patio umbrella to the mast on the split force an keep splitting . Wouldn’t take to much to do that . Thanks again DonO

      We turned down another company to demo a splitter but a yr ago we almost bought one of these so I couldn’t say no on this one . I told you guys a while back we would never be an infomercial. We just like to have fun here an split wood . There’s plenty of other channels out there that do the demos on all the splitters . Not saying I wouldn’t mind demoing a fancy new conveyor or something that’s new to the wood industry.

      We was so close to buying one a yr ago an now we actually get to have one to play with for a few weeks . Just being able to bring the splitter and conveyor to the wood in under a minute instead of bringing the logs out an cutting them up an then bringing the rounds to the splitter is a huge time savings to us . I think for anyone that don’t have a machine to move logs around with that this is a great all in one commercial unit .

  • @marksalisbury7456

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      Thanks Mark we did notice that today when I was playing with the speed controller. That machine can split faster than I can keep up with it . I don’t think most people could keep up with it after about 30 min of feeding rounds to it . It’s not always about the cycle time it’s more about endurance. With just under a 4 second cycle time I’m toast after 45 min and I’m used to running buster . Buster wears me out after 25 min mostly because I’m always trying to go faster than the splitter .

    If you want to speed things up, split multiple slabs at the same time, then turn 90° and split to firewood size. Also work from the left side to the right

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      I’m so used to running our vertical splitter it’s hard to change and I’m kinda picky about having all our wood the same size but it’s the first time Karen has ever run a splitter so she is learning as she goes an will probably start doing multiple splits once she gets the hang of it .

  • @ironmayhew
    @ironmayhew 5 місяців тому

    I think the gas savings along. Not having to run the geny for the conveyor would pay for itself in no time. And we all know you have been saving for a new conveyor this has both. Pretty impressive unit. It looks really good in your Woodward. Just needs a roof.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes a roof would be nice once it gets hot out . I haven’t kept track of the gallons pr cord yet but to be honest I don’t think it’s far off from what we are used to . With buster it’s 5 gallons to do 2 cord an that’s counting the generator fule

  • @RedHeadEd615

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому

      We have looked at them it’s the unloading part that I’m not sure will work . Last time I looked the 1/3 cord bags cost about $20 each so 60 for a cord . I remember seeing videos of the bags ripping as guys were trying to dump them with a tractor an that could get expensive fast . I’ve been watching Larry an Robins channel as they are swapping over to bags as well .

      @@AllenFamilyFirewood I think aj has em around 14 a pop. Some people say they have got 5 years out of some of their log lift bags. Little chain on each side of the forks to go through the loop on the bag and pallet when you dump it. Aj had a video on a that as well. I just started with them and I’m not processing right into them yet but hopefully will be soon. Need a set of grizzly bars off my little processor first.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      Stop down an ck it out if want Russ . That’s the biggest selling point to me you bring it to the wood so there’s no need to have equipment to move logs or splitters an conveyors around . Great video guys! I love the fact that you can drive it to the wood. It seems like that would save alot of time. Bustah seems to be faster and it looks like you can put more rounds on Busters table than this machine. Nice machine either way. Imagine the wood you could put out if you ran Buster and this machine. $$$

  • @jameschandler2776
    @jameschandler2776 5 місяців тому

    It is a cool splitter, I looked at them, but they are expensive, unless you have a sizable business. They look like a great machine. Karen got you, you need to learn when to be quiet Phil. We didn't get excited about the eclipse. We stacked wood all day too. We are still stacking wood that has been in a pile over a year because I wasn't able to work with it last year when I broke my back. W were on the edge of the eclipse; it got pretty dark here. It was like a storm was rolling in, so just an average day in Ohio. A lot of people traveled to central Ohio just to see it for 2 1/2 min. I have better things to do with my time.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому +1

      I agree James most everything is expensive these days. Last yr when we looked at the split force to buy we compared it to buying a commercial vertical splitter and a commercial conveyor. The split force was almost 3 grand cheaper than the other 2 combined and with this unit it could move around on its own unlike the other 2 you would need something to move them around . It was a no braina for us but we ended up building buster instead . Ya the eclipse here was definitely a dud for sure .

    Good morning you 2 lovely people. I watched the Morgan’s with the split force. I think it is a great machine. I actually thought about purchasing one. The biggest thing that kept me away is the height of the table. Too bad they couldn’t make it adjustable in height. What’s your thoughts on the height. Phil just think of switching up to get to know your business from every angle. Stacking isn’t that bad, or is it? You guys take care. The height is the only issue I had. Have you figured out how to sup it up yet. I’m sure Dana can help you in that department.

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому

      I believe next Tuesdays video we are going to show how to solve the table issue . I agree it’s to low but it’s an easy fix . I know from my experience that stacked wood with airspace between the rows drys better than wood thrown in a huge pile . I’m not a fan of stacking at all it’s probably my least favorite thing to do in the wood yard but the way we do it it saves on handling the wood an I’m all for that .

      Yes buster has a faster cycle time but the part everyone misses is the endurance part . 2 seconds or 4 seconds you need the endurance to keep feeding the machine as fast as it will eat wood . With buster I can go flat out an almost keep up with feeding it for about 25 min an then I need a 20 min break . With the split force I can go flat out an just about keep up with it for about 30 min an then need a 20 min break . It’s just not possible to run flat out for 4 hrs strait . I think it’s a toss up between bringing the split force to the wood or the wood to buster . After running both I can honastly say it’s all about endurance and I ain’t half of what I was 20 yrs ago but I think I still do ok .

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому

      A few of busters features came from looking at the split force . After running both of them I can say that production is not all about cycle time . It takes endurance to run either machine . I can only feed rounds just so fast to be able to keep up an both machines can split faster an longer than I can feed them . With either machine the person running it is the weak link . It takes time to bring the wood to buster with a machine ware as the split force can just drive to the wood without having a machine . That’s a big advantage in its self . . We will cover some of these points in upcoming videos . We appreciate ya watching and that was a great comment thanks .

    What does it cost?

    • @AllenFamilyFirewood
      @AllenFamilyFirewood  5 місяців тому

      They told me this machine we are using can be bought for $21, 800 but they have a lot of options for less $ . . A yr ago when we were price shopping this machine really stood out because it was less expensive than buying a commercial vertical splitter and also buying a commercial conveyor. The fact that it’s also self propelled was an added bonus . I believe split force has there own UA-cam channel as well showing different machines with prices an contact info .

      Well I don’t know about deserves I’m just happy there letting us run this splitter . Out of all the splitters out there this is the one we almost bought so I consider us lucky they were willing to let us test drive it a show it to you an everyone else that watches us . I have a funny feeling that you will see going forward it will be her doing most of the splitting with the split force . Karen has really taken a liking to running a splitter .

Way better them running a 500i stihl chainsaw . Chainsaw are in the pass , everything going to processor now in the forests and woodyard from 1990 on in this world 🌎. 😊
