Forgot to say Rob, put a dummy connector into the headphone socket, will activate the cab sim and sound even better!
The overdrive and distortion tones are amazing on this. Worth it for those alone for me, and the looper. Nice playing too!
Yeah they sound great I love the wah too 🎸🤘 thank you glad you like it
This was very helpful Sir. Thank you very much
Thank you so much for demonstrating all the sounds, just what I needed to hear cause I am thinking of upgrading my Boss GT1
No worries at all 🎸💯
Getting ready to upgrade my old Boss for this one, I love the acoustic simulator best I've heard yet
Yeah it's a great simulator and an awesome pedal
Literally got one of these last week. Still playing around with it, trying to find what works best for me but really enjoying it so far. I rate it.
They're great units so many cool FX
How much are these?
How do you find the ODs, distortions, amp and cab sims. Thanks.
The acoustic guitar setting is quite a nice touch
Yeah it sure is
Got this a while ago.... Great demo... I think I can use it now... Just learning Electric Guitar after 55+ years of acoustic.
It's a great bit of kit enjoy
Rock on Stephen and Rob
Thanks great video sir
Glad you liked it 🙂
Yes yes rocking the nirvana shirt also I still use the me 80 the chorus sounds amazing on it
Oh yes 🎸🤘 yeah they great units
My oh my that pedal is like spaceship controls boss are legends
It sure is 💪👌
Agreed
I got this pedal but was very disappointed it didn't have the easy tone feature of the me-70 that lets you save a preset for each individual effect. I used that as a staple on the me70 and it made it just like having 20 stomp pedals. The 80 would have been great if it had that, I was very mad when I sold my me-70 after learning this.
I much prefer the Me70 overall, more definition in the effects
That’s an awesome multi effects pedal
It has it all 🎸😀🤘🔥
The defrester basically replicates the sound of a freat less guitar
Great Demo! Thanks! I am considering an ME-80 or an ME-70. Noticed you seem to like the ME-70 more. Can you please give a very short list as to why? Thanks!
I prefer the more simple setup and it definitely sounds better
Is there any way to use the pitch shift or another effect to simulate a 12 string?
Man you know I've used the Boss Gt1 for 2 years almost on my channel. I love it!!! Very similar if not same but yours is easier to use in sure! Hahah. Killer. I almost bought it.
Killer show!!
Thanks bro, yeah they're awesome been using boss multi effects for about 10 years now. I still think I prefer the ME70 over this one. The GT1 is awesome
I just got an email from Tony Allen Glenn UA-cam. He's sending me this Me 80. I cannot wait. I think it will be easier to use than the Gt1.
@@theguitarmanifesto So I just got it.
Oh man that's so cool, let me know what you think bro
I got mine for $180 last year. I love how much it can do for an affordable price. Tones are unreal in it.
Yeah so many cool FX for a great price
Can I add more pedals “chain” to the me80
15:36, it would seem rob forgot how to play school 😂😂😂
It was more a case I'll avoid playing copyright material then I thought fudge it 😁 it's what the people want 🤘💪🎸😀
can this Boss ME-80 get The Strokes 12:51 lead tone?
Does it plug up to an amp? Possibly dumb question since it's a pedal, I know, but I never saw him plug into an amp. Also, can I use a in wall power source?
I was seriously thinking of getting one of those. But, I got the NU-X MG300 instead. Not sure if I made the right choice yet. The only think keeping me from that was that it was too big for the small space I have to play in. Sounds excellent, though!
The boss me 50 is a great pedal set a lot smaller too 🎸🤘
@@theguitarmanifesto I'll check it out. Thanks, man. 😎👍
That NUX 300 sounds great on your channel.
@@robertclarkguitar Thank you, brother! 😎👍
do you know ho w to use it in stereo mode ? im using 2 amps 2 pedal boards aby switch i use both a-b and ab
It doesn’t do stereo unfortunately. It’s double mono
great review and tone....how do you set up output of boss me 80? Direct to PA or mixer , usb to pc or in AMP? and in case wich amp?
Use the output jack sockets direct to mixer.
I believe the usb is for updates, to connect to pc you use guitar jack to a Usb interface
@@theguitarmanifesto I'm a bit late to the game here but the USB connects directly to computer. You can also use the guitar outputs on the pedal to an audio interface and then usb from that interface direct to PC as well, but the USB on the unit can be used to direct plugin to a PC and record using your DAW as well as changing the paramenters of effects and patches via Boss Tone Central software, all without the audio interface.
Does anybody actually know what a ring modulator is??? I've never known what to do with it haha, ive still got the me50 one down from that, great effects, love mine still
I've heard they work wonders with piles 😀
I have an ME 80 , it's cool but I'm giving it to a mate.. I'll keep my ME-70 !
Me 70 is a better unit 💯👌
I just bought one and my OD/DS and MOD are linked up and i don’t know why.. and i can’t fix it
Try a factory reset
I've been contemplating on one of these for a bit, and it was the old version you used to have yourself. Sounds like good value and has a great sound, very tailorable to the tone you're looking for. I was trying to decide if it's gonna do exactly what I want. I've been after a pre-amp for a while but have been looking at those rack stack things that's a bit of a dead hobby nowadays. Wondering which is a best option?
I still prefer the boss me70, to be honest I haven't used pre amp racks for a very long time.
Lot of people say the distortions and the amps on this pedal are its weak link. Wondering what your view is on the matter. Esp since I am listening to this on my iPad and don’t want to judge. Thanks.
The amps I don't even bother with the distortions do sound a lot better on the me70
@@theguitarmanifesto The amps are no good? I plan to use it for home recording so that could be an issue, right?
I have no use for if I'm honest, i use the amps in garageband
@@theguitarmanifesto Ah ok.
@@theguitarmanifesto Although, you know, I recently did spend a lot of time looking for examples of exactly what you do - use an effects pedal in combination with a software amp. Then I gave up as there wasn’t much info on that, even less when it came to free amps like those in GarageBand or even Logic (not free but, still, bundled). So, this is good to know. Guitar to effects to audio interface to soft amp to DAW. No reason for posting this, just saying, that all :)
Hi where did you get guitar stickers would love some for my Gretsch
All the info in this video

I have this
Great pedal
First ❤
what type of PSA adapter is he compatible?
A standard 9v pedal adaptor
I'm struggling finding the sound I'm looking for
Its not for everyone I guess
Can I use this with a bass guitar?
Yes I've used them before with bass guitars no problems at all
I have this pedalboard. Most of modulation effects are good, some sound fantastic I d' say. Delay section is not bad but there's not many time range options inside. Well, it's normal a good Delay pedal can cost alone half the price of the ME-80. Distortion effects are not very good I think. Fuzz effects are ok, overdrives and distortions are not as good, maybe the blues overdrive is a little better than the others. Octave effects are in general very compressed and sound infantile. It's a first time that I can compare what I'm listening when playing with my old korean Ibanez and I have to say I'm listening almost the same sounds as you do. If someones has to shape his sound from the ME-80 only, he will have to work on it. Biggest disadvantage of the ME-80: doesn't have output for linking it with other rigs like Helix does.
The me70 is the better sounding unit
Hmmmm, should I get this or the ME-70?
I still prefer the ME70, more streamlined and better sounding
Alright thanks, I’ll probably get the 70 then 👌
@@ItsTompp I made a full review video of the me70
You can go fairly deep and tweak like hell with both. The ME80 has many advantages though when looking at its layout and ability to really hone in on tones.
15:43 NO RECESS!
Tune 😂😎🎸👌
sry hook it up i ment to say
