If you start out with a good healthy clean tone from your amp, you can use the boost for a boost, or the comp for a boost, the pre amp for a boost, the eq for a boost, and the OD and drives for a boost if you are in manual mode. Crazy amount of gain stacking options, it just takes a little while to ballance all the levels so you are actually boosting when you add something.

Thanks for the video and the demonstration. I'm mainly a individual pedal user and decided to come into the 21 century and bought a used ME-80 a couple of months ago. Plugged into my studio monitors and guitar amp loops, this thinkg sounds far better than I expected. Had to go into the tone lab to see how others are setting things. My biggest problem is setting the overall gain and volumes! Ugh! PITA. I have decided this thing is a keeper. Maybe someday, Boss will upgrade this thing to include a display that will show more than a couple of letters or numbers.
Maybe I can help with the volume issue. Edit a patch, turn up the volume, press write. Go out of that patch, decrease the output volume. When you come back to the patch, volume will be at the level you saved it. Neat, ha?
It's nice having a board that doesn't rely on an app or computer, this rocks and keeps it focused on playing. Nice vid. how does it compare to the Helix or other modern hi-fi processors?
I LOVE mine!!! Been playing guitar for 20 years, I'm tired of pedals!!!! But this ME-80 sounds waaayyy better than I thought it would.....I'm sort of a tone snob also....But maybe it's because I'm running higher quality amps and guitars, maybe that's why, but yeah No complaints here.
Don’t give up on the direct sound! You have to have to have something plugged into the headphone output in order for the speaker simulation to be activated. I love the sound of it plugged straight in; just have to know how to turn on the speaker sim.
Hi bro, I noticed that you're using a Chicken Pick. I've just recently found out about them and I'm currently using the Eric Johnson Jazz 3 pick. Can you recommend them? And I would kindly ask what model of chicken pick you're using?
They're great. Been using them since 2014 and never used another brand since. I kind of forgot what I used here but I do switch between the BADASS 2.0 and BERMUDA 2.1

Actually the ME-80 is very much like a pedal board. It should work on any amp. Just adjust settings and let your ears be your guide. But if I have to recommend though, a Boss Katana would be great.

I’m a home recording guy so mas kelangan ko ang digital so I’d probably go for the gt1. ME80 can be used for digital too but not as good as the gt-1. That’s just my opinion. May iba kasi mas need nila for gig so me-80 would be a better choice.
For me I like the GT1000 better. ME80 is great pero medyo old na. As always the newer the technology, the better. GT1000 has AIRD technology built in na. Meaning it sounds and responds like a real amp kahit naka plug ka straight into computer or PA system.

I had the ME 50. I loved it! I prefer MEs vs the GTs.

I love it but the preamps even with the headphone plug in, still leaves a bit to be desired. Miss my gt1. This is still usable. I use it main.

Just connect it straight to input, I guess. Although you really don't need to but I think that's going to work.
