Today makes 3,707 days of not a drop of alcohol and 1,097 days no smoking. I drank for 10 years and smoked 23 years. I haven't relapsed once on either. Best decisions you could ever make. Keep up the good work! It just keeps getting better! God bless!
If You arent lying you are a super human. I know a couole alcoholics and this sounds like what they have hace been dreaming about since the first time they understood they had a problem. Bless you
@Notfakecoldplay Only through Jesus was this possible for me. My little brother died at 27 yrs old of overdose 3 months after I quit. Never caved in. It's possible. Thanks for the comment and God bless you as well. It truly takes alot of determination and you have to be sick of yourself in my case. Take care!
Greetings from Canada. I am now 20 days sober, and this channel has been an inspiration to me. Been catching up with your previous videos and am now up to the present. You have made it through the relapses and subsequent roller coaster of emotions and physical ill effects. Through it all, you have maintained a connection with subscribers like me who find daily life a struggle at times. Thank you Jacob, I wish you well, One Day at a Time. ❤
At 20 days clean or 34 days - this comment is 2 week later - try one hour at a time. If you are feeling that familiar pull, look at your watch or phone for the time and promise yourself that you will not act on the urge for the next hour. Then, repeat an hour later. In the early stage of my opiate withdrawals, I was down to 10 minutes at a time and I worked up from there. Small victories in a longer conflict. I'm 24 years clean. Not exactly 24 years, a little longer, because I refused a long time ago to obsess over days clean because that in itself is a tie to your addiction. You need to set yourself free. I strongly disagree with the 12 steps approach because it failed me multiple times. I realised that maybe that I was not the problem but maybe the methodology just did not work for me, personally. If it works for you, ignore me. But if you are one of those people that keeps failing and are starting to blame yourself, stop that right now. There is not a one size fits all solution to addiction. Think about it, if you were trying to achieve something in any other part of your life, would you keep trying the same approach, if you kept getting bad results? No, you would try another approach. There are other approaches to addiction. For me, a bid part of me was ceasing to self-dentify as an addict, even an addict in recovery, was central to my success. Think about it. It is not a healthy self-image. Accept that you are a human being with addictive tendencies, which you CAN control, they do NOT control you. If you keep that as a mantra, I think it will change everything.
Good job on 60 days sober. I don't know you but I'm still proud of your progress. It will be 1 year sober before you know it! I see a lot of people in the comments are early in their sobriety journey so I also want to say good job to you all!
thanks. I usually avg about 2 weeks between relapses. Can't count how many times I've relapsed. Longest was 120 days back in winter 2023 going into spring 2024. 😢😢 ive calmed down but still bad feeling to give in.
Congratulations from the Czech Republic. I smoked weed every day for 29 years. I drank alcohol even longer. I understand you very well. I keep my fingers crossed. Anything is possible. Life can be beautiful.
Proud of you…after growing up in an alcoholic family and how it has trickled down thru out the family…. Be proud of yourself and how you have done this for yourself and especially your sweet girls!!! Keeps going!
I have had 2 family members kill themselves due to addiction, seeing people actually try to overcome it and see how much they've got to lose and using that as a way to strenghten their will power is really nice to see. Hope you keep it up❤
Hi 👋 Greetings from New Zealand. I drank alcohol after being traumatized. I started drinking alcohol to deal with the pain. I now have eight years of sobriety. I'm 64 in age , so i definitely don't want to drink anymore. I relapsed many times in getting sober. As you say its how you feel about yourself. I feel much better. I have a higher power in my life which keeps me sober one day at a time. I wish you well.
You look much healthier bro! I stopped drinking too, it’s so hard not to drink coz people getting pissed all the time and with the being xmass everywhere especially Xmas parties!!! Bro! Listen… if you’ve done 60 days already you can do the rest. DO NOT TOUCH ALCOHOL AGAIN… you’re better than that! It took so much work effort and well done btw so don’t let alcohol ruin the hard work! End of story… your life and your mind talking to you … you don’t want to carry regrets with you ok! Remember that
We are so happy and so proud of you! Keep it up, you can do it friend, dont give up! I would like to offer a resource that may help others. Just started reading The Easy Way to Stop Drinking by Allen Carr and it has brought me more peace and hope then I have in the past offered myself. Never a quick fix to adjust or rid poor habits (or however you describe it) but helps to have supportive tools of all sorts to aid in our fight for healthy lifestyles. Cheers all, never give up and I Love You all and I wish you many Blessings. We CAN do it!!
. I quit the pr0n0 and weed... at a certain point you have to just not care about being sober because you are sober. Since you were such a heavy drinker you should go for at least a year if not more. Again, when you don't care about it and just are, then you are golden. I felt it around the 60 day mark, but according to most it hits around the 90-120 day mark.
relapsed on five months in, almost six. drank for about a month or two, time really escapes me like that when i drink. decided three days ago, "the hangovers aren't worth it, the addiction isn't worth it, and relapse isn't worth it. you're born for better things than this." this time, i am sticking to it. fuck alcohol.
It was important for me when it sunk in that it will get progressively worse and I will never be able to control my alcohol consumption. The crap the world offers can be surmounted when sober. The highs start to come when you begin to surmount those obstacles. It gets easier when you stop fighting it.
@ you know, I’m feeling really depressed right now and your message came at the right time. thank you, man, it honestly picked me up. here is to our sobriety and never giving up!
I'm 1,5 months in relapse all this crap began with Christmas approaching. I have not enough work this is a trigger too the staffing agencies are a bunch of assholes sad but true. But I won't let those individuals indirectly kill me no way!
I have a feeling you are going to be fine. Like me you’ve failed too many times to let it happen again. Have a lovely Christmas with your girls, family etc. and best wishes for 2025 😊
Hi mate, haven't seen you in a while and I'm really hoping you are just taking a break from posting. Please update when you can, miss your frequent updates.
Learn to love yourself for just being You …. You are perfectly lovable just as You are even if You are not in the best shape …. Perhaps try to love yourself whilst being a little chubby , before trying to get into shape?? Focus on your other good traits? Its not a great example for your kids if You dont rest in yourself as You are !! 😊
It's hard to watch how much you think you need to improve. Maybe you can look into the phrase being 'a good enough' person. You don't need to be the best version of yourself. That's a recipe for failure. Be a 'good enough' person. 😊
Great job bro! It’s not always perfect but it’s worth it. If you’re looking for more relatable content then worth checking out Podcasts/videos by Menace to Sobriety, Rich Roll and Andy Ramage.
Tbh dude it's great you have gone so far without a drink, but in todays situation does any of it matter, just look at society and how fucked were are as a species..
Damn, you won't get anywhere with that attitude. Of course it's absolutely 100% worth it. When you're glued to the internet everyday, all you'll see is negative shit, focus on your own life and achievements and loved ones, let those things be the motive.
I understand what you mean bro. I used to think the same way for years. Find all the good in this world and understand that you can see how messed up this world is and still be thankful. That is a superpower most don’t have the ability to handle. You could.
Been 3 months so far , was tough seeing family in Ireland 🇮🇪 over Xmas never touched the devils juice saying it’s 1st of new year gonna push through and do a year of the beer 👍☘️

How did you quit smoking ?
@Robertlengyel91 i went to a vape and just went 6% to 3% to 0% took me about 2 months to be at 0%
Your channel has been really helpful for me, I’m at day 9 and feeling great

glad to hear you've made it a long stretch. I can't say the same. 2 days sober making my best to roll into 2025 sober.
Don’t beat yourself up. Even 2 days is good because it shows that you have some level of self control

This is over a month old !
@ ya, I hadn’t seen anything, is he ok or did he relapse?
@@ydoicare2000 Not heard anything but hope he's ok. He's either went one of two ways . He's either smashing it or relapsed.
Relapsed?
100%
He’s on one almighty bender .
100%. He's posting pictures of his beers on instagram.
@@samanthaoneill2382hahaha really ?
So happy for you!
So happy for you. What an achievement.
Well done🔥

He hasn't figured out yet that he needs actual therapy
How are you?
why did you go back....go forward...not backwards........try again (you have to keep trying) Love, Eileen...Missouri (KC).
Im just curious what it is other than the hangovers that so horrify you? Youve seemed to heavily identify with it.
Upwards and onwards, but where is your Guide?????????stoned or drunk? Or running
We’re right around the same amount… I feel like we’re doing this together! Maybe we could do a Collabo video

I was thinking the same
Keep going,
I was 117 back in the summer but relapsed on Holiday
It happens. It sucks. But you learn so next time will be better. It doesn't define you.
Great job bro! It’s not always perfect but it’s worth it.

What about the eeed, Jacob? I thought you said you were going to stop. Your gif won’t be happy.
Congratulation on maintaining your sobriety during the holidays !
How do you know that ? This is from over two weeks ago …….
@@willhutton4150 4 weeks now with no update. I wonder how he’s getting on.
