5:30 - 5:50 Oh yes! A few years back I took the time to read through that entire website, and it was GLORIOUS! Imagine the ramblings of a 9/11 truther combined with the creativity of a 14 year old hobby "engineer". Just beautiful.
Mike Sparks is an amazing amalgamation of someone who thinks that they know everything without doing actual research and someone who has very concerning mental issues, just look at some of the shit he spews about conspiracies, “aliens probed my ass and took me to Hitler’s clone in the hollow earth under Antarctica” type shit
I honestly felt somewhat betrayed and ashemed at myself from how much I had believed in that movie that it carried over way into adulthood, finding out abut the actual fact that the protagonist was based off of some guy being full of horse manure really made me question a few of things in my life. So remember kids: always second guess your heroes.
It's very important for orkz to believe a thing works for them to do their magic, it is impossible to convince anyone other than the brain dead fucks that the *blitzfighter* could ever work
If you take a serious look at Burton's "Blitz Fighter" proposal you'll see that he didn't even know what his own service needed let alone the Army. Most of the Airforce's losses in Vietnam were caused by light AA hitting aircraft at low level. Had Burton read any of the reports that came out of this conflict he would've known just how ludicrous his idea was. He was also misinformed about radar being able to spot ground targets. The AWACS can do it but with limited capabilities and the J-STARS was in development at the time and showing promise. I highly doubt that the conversation he had with his superior ever happened. Burton was a graduate of the Airforce Academy's first graduating class in 1960. Which means he entered the Airforce in 1956. By 1986 he only rose to Lieutenant Colonel and was quickly approaching the end of his career. The military only allows someone to hold a rank for so long before releasing them to make room for someone else. His actions regarding the Bradley were the actions of someone desperate to get promoted so he could stay on active duty a little longer which comes with a pay raise and more pension benefits. The Bradley was shoehorned into the scout role because Congress canceled a built for the purpose recon vehicle when it was in an advanced stage of development.
Well, the reason why the XM-800 program was canceled was because the 800 could not carry any dismounts, and the cavalry needed the vehicle to carry a scout team; this is why making a scout out of a troop carrier made a lot of sense.
Most of the “reformers” are couch commandos who base their knowledge on military weapons and vehicles solely on “well its good/bad in this one video game” or “this guy in this forum said one time” or my favorite “they said it in this one movie”, the ones that have actual military experience are either like Pierre Sprey and have a mindset stuck in about 1963 or are like Mike Sparks or James Burton, they were in the military so that makes them the end all be all military expert even though they were in some weird admin department like Burton, or in Sparks’ case a combat engineer in the national guard, neither of which know jackshit about APCs, IFVs, or tanks, but because they were in the military and knew a guy that was a radio operator on an Abrams crew that means they’re now the top experts in the field of armor
For those who _do_ know what's going on, their mode of thought is more "we should make fights happen in this competitive, fair way!" Except this is war, not sport. And the bad guys are gonna kill our guys if we go in like knights sneering at gunpowder. "But they're brown people/commies/brown commies. Do we _really_ need to stack the deck this hard? Can't we just be gallant about it?" Morons.
Good lord the old man is my spirit animal this video. These "Reformers" and all there insanity just make me question there insanity with just sheer WTF going through me.
Man, i want to show these asshats a german Puma IFV and watching their heads explode. It's an armored bus. YES, an armored bus that wipes the floor with your fucking Blitzfighter. Fuck, even a vietnam era M163 would kill that Bf110 knockoff and that thing was "just" an armored bus with a 20mm Gatling gun attached.
26:18 You make a Land Battleship like four or more times bigger and heavier than the proposed Ratte and pray that you have complete Aerial Supremacy. But at that point, can such a monster be called a Tank anymore? It'd certainly be called a waste of money and resources.
Aren’t those things kind of chunky too I mean I know it’s gonna be heavy cars are already heavy and they don’t have to carry around ammunition and armor but like are those things really heavy
The Tigerwolf would probably win, but only because 40K fire control equipment is only slightly more accurate than a man with no arms trying to aim a piss stream.
@26:10 - Well front turret on the Abrams possibly can withstand a hit from most antitank systems. In case of IFV you can make a heavy one like Namer which basically uses the Merkava's hull. Thou I'm not saying that Bradley is poorly armored. On the contrary it is said that from the front it provides protection from most 30mm russian ammo.
13:50 In FlPz Guepards vs Shaheds (which are btw much smaller targets, both physically and radar then any "simple" manned fighter) battle in Ukrainian skies we can see what would happen in theoretical situation of modern-ish SPAAG meeting such target HINT: It goes about as well as anyone who knows that post WW2 AA (naval) guns already had capability to automatically track targets might expect.
27:01 The Yugoslavia thing is because the Serbs shot down an F-117 Nighthawk by locking on to it's bomb bay. (Oversimplification of events). At least, I think that's what this is in reference to.
Blacktail is that egotistical there was once a channel called the CAB show who decimated Blacktail in all he had them banned by YT for stolen videos. In 99 a F117 was shot down by a sam.
I would like to say something about looking at things at air shows and comparisons In 1954 during a parade in Moscow the world was introduced to the Tupolev TU 16 Bomber (NATO codename Badger), Western analiysis people were alarmed because it was flying in formation with MiG 15s which looked tiny and they assumed this new bomber was comparable in size to the new B52s at the time. However when the US managed to take a closer look at the aircraft (probably in 1968 when one of these buzzed the USS Essex then crashed into the North Sea) did they realize that they were wrong and in fact there was nothing impressive at all about the Badger. It's a nice looking plane but it was designed in the late 40's and was massively inferior to the Vickers Valiant which was designed at roughly the same time. You can not judge aircraft performances or technology of said aircraft at airshows or flyby displays
The Blitzfighter could have been an okay export fighter with actual tech like radar added it probably would have been useful in asymmetric warfare or as a CAS/Ground attack trainer but would never cut it in a modern battlefield. Also that game is Operation: Red Dragon.
@@RipOffProductionsLLC It seems those guys don't understand there is a thing called "fall-back options". You can equip your missile planes with cannons, doesn't mean you should ditch the missiles...
I have to admit to being surprised that LP, and all the people I’ve seen react to this, don’t scoff at the idea that it’s somehow a scandal (according to Burton) that the Bradley project cost billions... we’re talking all new design, fabrication, testing, any changes required by testing results, further fabrication, further testing etc
