I’m a retired cop and always wanted to pratice martial arts but never had the time. At 59, I begin the commitment. Yes, it’s tough, but after a couple of months, I’m ready to test for my third belt. Because of the COVID-19 our TKD is closed. We are using Zoom to have classes, which is ok, but I miss our in person sessions. Watching your channel is helping tremendously.. You are easy to understand and follow. That I you so much.
My two sons are doing taekwondo tournament sparring and they have been watching ur vids they went to a tournament at the fort worth convention center because of your videos they have gotten better over the years. Keep making your videos!
Aseel Jamal I guess that depends on the school you're practising tkd in... in mine, for example, exams are held once per 6 months (I don't actually know how the belt promoting exams are called)
As for the stretching kick... I would like to know if it's a matter of strength or stretch to achieve a high kick.. is it like 50-50 or 40-60 or something else??
It's mainly stretch, working on dynamic flexibility will help achieve higher kicks. But having kicking strength plays a part too. But its mainly stretching.

Believe it or not....when executed nicely....you can really do some damage to a person but all in fun for competition

is taekwondo effective in selfdefence
Pure Taekwondo can work in selfdefense but it‘s better to learn more practical arts
South Korea's military is trained in Taekwondo. You can even have a Phd in taekwondo there. There's your answer.
It's not about the fighting style. It's about the mindset you have going into the fight. Use what works and don't quiver or hesitate.
Sure, just do like ten full power front snaps to the groin first.
Ziad Elshaer any martial-arts can work if u practice the set-up. Just be sure to practice the scenario before even thinking of trying it out
😘😘😘
