These are really great and still relevant today. People tell me I live like someone in the 50s. I don't feel insulted, but complimented. They lived much more sensibly back then.
Elizabeth Montgomery would be proud of you Darrin. Fun seeing a film from 1949 about how much sleep we need and how it effects your everyday life and performance. What a simple life compared today!!
I love Dick York who by all accounts was a kind, generous man. He had to leave Bewitched due to a horrible back problem and later had COPD. Even while he was hooked up to oxygen 24/7, he was raising money for those with little to eat. Judging by this video, his looks never changed.
He was laying in his bed of pain with nothing but some 'name recognition' as the husband on Bewitched and a telephone by his bed. He called in countless radio shows etc. to raise tens of thousands for needy people.
Oh, my stars! It’s Darrin Stephens #1! Richard Y did a lot of these educational filmstrips before he made his mark. Mr. York will always be “Darrin from Bewitched” to me, but one has to start somewhere.
This is relevant. Coming out of Covid, I earned myself a horrid sleep schedule. It affected my athletics poorly. When I awoke from the illusion and fixed my sleep schedule, I didn't even know how goddamn tired I had been. I had had a modern sleep schedule for so long that I forgot what it felt like to have a good night's sleep. But, after I fixed it, I felt like a new man.
Wish they'd show this to teachers who assgin so much homework these days... an hour a night per subject, five subjects a day is at least 5 hours homework every night from the start of secondary school at 11... In sixth form (16-18 for non-UK people) we were assigned 10.5 hours per night, which is patently ridiculous! I took three subjects, and each teacher set 3.5 hours of additional work at home! But if you take the start of secondary school, aged 11. 7 hours in school, an hour travelling, 5 hours of homework, an hour for meals, an hour for getting ready in the morning, 10 hours sleep (the minimum reccommended amount for that age) gives 25 hours; more hours than there are in a day, with no leisure at all! No wonder countries with less / no homework get better results!
Agreed!! I went to International Language school in Switzerland 1981-84 where we did the majority of our assignment with the professor in class before we went home. There we only reviewed what we had worked through with the professor in class. Learned more in those three years than all the prep school and university classes back in the US. There was no busy work, and life was absolutely less stressed and more balanced....

I thought that was Dick York. Before his back problems.
I did a double take when I first saw him & I went, “Darrin!!!” 🤣

Good advice. If only we all could do this (currently watching this and it’s almost 1am)
No. Lol!
We need these today maybe people could learn to be people again.

WOW. a very young good looking Dick York. If he only knew what would happen 15 years later
Second one of these PSA films with Dick York. Love ‘em!
It's cool seeing comments written 8 years ago here in 2019

Dick York was cute in his younger days. He was my favorite Darrin, anyway.
Same here
He was! They had him doing such goofy faces u didn’t notice he was quite handsome…In these earlier reels, he was actually hot-like Jake Ryan hot🥰😂💗

The character of George in this film is played by Dick York. He played Darren Stephens on the television series Bewitched.
Yes, Darrin
Every Tom, Dick and Howard knows that. It’s what’s known as a known fact
