The Manfret didn't launch aircraft because network crash during loading Terry. It did force player to restart the game, and when we enter already, WG force us to wait for another full 1 minute to launch the aircraft. I face this problem before and Wargaming didn't fix this since day 1 of this game So using your status as Community Contributor, i ask you to talk this to Wargaming to fix this issue, because either bug or rule, this is very unfair. Entirely possible, I've had games where I've been dropped in halfway through due to client crashes, but I don't play CVs usually, so I wasn't aware of the plane reload. I'll have to test this and report it, thanks for pointing that out
Wargaming is just getting desperate trying to get people to come back by inventing fake nonsense ships now. Half the time I’m playing with more AI “fill in ships” now which is a real indicator of how people are just getting bored and leaving this thing. What’s next “Cruiser submarines”. Ugh.
Original the US got an idea for the carrier battleship from the Soviets, the USS Kearsage in game. The Soviets asked the US to build it, they came up with a design then promptly cancelled it to keep the Soviets from having such a ship. So not completely made up design wise.
I have a feeling that I will be playing less t7 and above because of these being teamed with a CV. That is just way too many aircraft in the air and many ships AA will be more useless against 3 carriers instead of just 1. As it is you get a CV and a couple DZP it gets pretty hard to do anything in the game so a couple of these with an Essex in the back row will be toxic in game play. So I will be staying Tier 6 likely to avoid this toxicity. May sound whiny but what fun is there to be had if there is a CV with 2 of these style ships making it hard to do anything other than becoming artificial reefs.

When T9 kearsarge dropped I was unimpressed... It's usually the first shop sighted & thus draws every gun looking & it gives up citadels generously😊 I see these as no different... And this one is just plain STUPID looking... a boutique flight deck😂
I actually liked the Kearsarge. Lots of long-range guns. Having basically scout planes is not such a bad thing, I can see myself carrier-blapping with this setup :) But I'm unlikely to get this line on my personal, so what I'm more curious about is to see what my AA cruisers are going to do. Might make AA builds more viable if we get to see those things in the long term. And yeah, I can't say I've ever seen a Kearsarge on the enemy team, not that I'd remember, at least

USS Illinois was going to be converted to an aircraft carrier, and new design poroposals were drawn up. But the Essex Class Aircraft Carriers were already in production, and It was proven to be cheaper and easier to build carriers from existing designs that are proven to work rather than drawing up new plans from scratch from an "Unexplored" Carrier design. This would have been the right decision. Just look at what happened to Shinano (Yamato class Battleship converted into a carrier). However, I heard the Midway Class Aircraft Carrier was drawn up with designs originating from the Illinois Conversion, so It was a "Pre-Midway". However, I couldn't find a source backing this up.
There was also parts of the Montana design in the Midway also. The 1970's and 1980's designs for the the New Jersey and i belive Iowa would have worked but to costly. They would have had Helicopters and Harrier jets for close air support for marines and fleet air coverage and surveillance. concept is interesting.
the elevator to the side looks better than the elevator in the back and it looks more comfortable but since there is an elevator in the back they should replace the side elevator with a crane and they should also make the planes have some sort of amphibious qualities just incase
There where plans for new jersey and one other Iowa to be converted to a hybrid battleship/ carrier. They would have had helicopters and harrier jets . They would mainly be used for bombardment and close air support for landings of marines.But was not cost effective and would have been tricky to convert. The battlecarrier is a interesting concept it could work with the technology of today, but when it was considered it wasnt really worth the trouble. Great video. Hope to get Delaware and the camo. Provided you've got a cloud account (WG.net, Google), you could try completely uninstalling and reinstalling (also wipe caches & data). Also, check that you have enough space left, the game might need some temporarily to unpack resources. Otherwise, contact support@wowsblitz.com
I Just completed the Nebraska grind, and I didn’t mind it at all. Even though I had a string of losses, you know the ones where even though you score well, you just get a derpy team. I was consistently scoring well, with the exception of the times you get ganged up on while your team is ‘securing the corners’. The bombers are weak, and the dispersion can be very disappointing, but they do work if you use them cautiously. I only drop on targets with poor AA, such as destroyers, Japanese cruisers, German BB’s, or vulnerable CV without AA. Don’t even bother with dropping on anything with AA, as one of the worst parts about the bombers is that they have a very long preparation time, the more bombers that make it back, the less you have to wait the next time. You can use it to chase down and spot fleeing low-health targets, or anything without air cover. You can also be tricky with them against enemy carriers. For one, you can use them to bait the enemy fighters by sending your bombers off into nowhere or return them and send them and return them, etc. just keep their CV busy. It takes up the enemy carrier’s time, or he makes a mistake. It also allows your CV to avoid their fighters or make their runs in a chaotic environment, and you can also follow his fighters in to avoid the AA as well. You can bait the enemy fighters back to your own AA and shred them up, or another thing I do is suddenly turn as if to attack something with the AA ability and immediately disengaging, causing him to waste his ability. This allows your carrier a safer sky to be effective. I only remember being deplaned sometimes, but there are always up tier games where everything can defend themselves. Its guns do damage, and I use it more aggressively than you would expect. This has gotten me rushed by DD’s, but I’m pretty good at dodging torps and escaping when I can rather effectively. When the battle calls you to be a BB, you can still bully CC’s and use your hit points to absorb carrier damage to protect yours, or just trade with another low health BB. At the endgame if you did a good job of saving you HP, there is plenty left to battle it out with other BB’s IMHO. It still gives almost as much as it gets. Its mostly tier 9 where you get hit by a lot of citadels. I think people who are experienced BB players, good CV players or BB players from other nations that are accustomed to their strengths that feel the worst about the hybrid line, and they aren’t wrong.
When you do tier10s can you give the battle honours since it gives steel. I expect Battlecarrier battle honours to be at the easier side of the scale. It maybe on of the main reasons to grind the line.

Yes, I could have used the damacon, but I was under fire from a Dutch cruiser and a Gibraltar, so high risk of a triple perma fire if I had used it, which is why I was holding back. As for Italian BBs, I'm running main battery mod 2 (reload) in slot 1, and the standard propulsion mod in 2 and steering gear in 3
Yeah, pretty much, although you're a gun down, and the armour is crap, so the playstyle is pretty different. But boy, those super heavy shells can hurt, and with your own scout planes, it's an interesting variation.

I noticed that dodging dive bomber is not a matter of moving but more of the orientation. I really think that if you face them, they tend to miss much more than when broadsiding. Am I right or am I into some bias?
The console/PC versions of the game have an elliptical shaped hit box, but there isn’t an aiming mechanic in Blitz version. In Blitz it’s a semi-random number generator that determines if you get hit or not and how much damage is dealt.
I'll be out in my AA cruisers for sure :) But jokes aside, I think there will be the occasional annoyance, but all in all they've got a reasonably high skill floor that I don't think they're going to be too prevalent once the novelty has worn off. And the dive bombers, despite being American, really can't seem to hit destroyers with their dispersion. As for dodging, I don't think you can, although we don't know for sure how the dispersion is implemented. It would make sense for them to drop in an ellipsis pattern, given the way the wings are laid out, but that could be cosmetic - no idea. I would assume that rng probably plays more of a role, but I might be able to test if there's a statistically significant difference in ship orientation.

iirc they have a more oval shape horizontally, so if you’re facing towards them there is less area for them to hit their target.
