Putting two Hi-res audio stickers is the best way to improve the bass and getting a large soundstage! I'm buying one from your review. Maybe I'll buy more stickers too!
I have this dongle for a while and sound is very good(even better than my DFR and the nextdrive spectra), but as always technical aspects differs on the android vs PC. But it is like that on every dongle and also even on the battery powered devices !!! The soundstage and instrument placement will be different, also instr. separation and total volume. It sounds organic with a touch of analyticality (which can help a bit with the detail retrieval). On the android i experience sound stutterings though, but i dont mind cause i use it on the PC nevertheless, because of the sound difference and battery consumption. Its a good portable dac/amp for the notebook...
Hello, can you please tell me what's the Lightning to USB type C braided cable that you use in this video? It's not easy to find a good one. Thank you.
Impressive dongle. I was going to get one but the battery life on my iPhone SE 2020 is pretty awful. And the Hiby FC3 is hard to find at the moment, so I preordered the Hidizs S3 Pro.
If I'm out somewhere and it's just an efficient (easy to drive) IEM I still prefer the FC3. Although the S9 Pro has a slight edge in audio quality, the FC3 is smaller and doesn't get in the least bit hot (S9 Pro gets quite warm). If I'm at my desk, I prefer the S9 Pro.
This DAC is very power efficient and has a pretty minimal hit on the phone battery. BUT if you listen to your music really LOUD the battery life will suffer.
I've had some trouble using this DAC dongle with my iMac running macOS Big Sur (11.4 or 11.5) via a USB Type A port (not through the USB-C/Thunderbolt port): the volume control goes totally bonkers and doesn't increase or decrease in a linear way. So, I believe there's a compatibility issue with macOS. I also purchased the Hidizs Lightning to USB-C cable and tried the DAC dongle with my iPhone XS Max. I tried playing some hi-res lossless Apple Music, but the dongle LED stayed green and wouldn't turn blue. I did change the Audio Quality in my iPhone's settings to hi-res lossless, so I'm not sure why it's not playing the full 192 kHz.
I don't have a Mac OR Apple Music subscription so I can't really help you there. I had been wanting to try the iPhone "experience" for a long time but after seeing how they fail at audio, if I were buying a new phone tomorrow, I would be going back to Android.

I wrote to Hidizs, they said it could be the lightning output voltage problem…? I am dying to know if you guys have a similar issue?
