Great tips and harvest! 🥰🌱❤️ This is my first year growing garlic. I actually need to harvest my hard-neck garlic too. 😅 Glad I found your channel! 💕
Thanks! Hope you have a good harvest and enjoy our channel :)
Really enjoy your videos. Have a few raised beds. Really want to try this. We love garlic.
Awesome! Thanks for watching, and you definitely should. Definitely one of my easiest and favorite to grow.
Love from India ❤
Good tips and great harvest! Sad we didn't get our garlic in last Fall since our beds weren't made yet but excited to plant out in a few months
Excited to see how it turns out next year!
I live in California, zone 10a.
I use garlic as a snake repellant in my yard. It's very effective especially those states with rattle snakes. Just beat the garlic and cast them away in the yard.
Interesting! Learned something new
Just came across your channel! Looks very informative and interesting! Thanks for the content. New subscriber here ❤
Thanks so much for subscribing! Hope you enjoy the content, get inspired and learn along the way!
How do you save the cloves for the next planting? Do you place each one you want to save in a jar in the refrigerator?
What a nice harvest of garlic! So I want to start growing garlic starting this fall. Yours look amazing, where did you buy your garlic to start growing your own? I'm in zone 5 so I'm thinking a hardneck is what I need.
That’s a great choice. I would look for local seed companies because they can recommend what will grow well in your area.
Any tips on how to get started in zone 9a? I'm in Florida so snow and frost aren't in my vocabulary 😅
I talk about it in this video. If you don’t have a frost or cold weather you need to vernalize your garlic before planting 👍🏼
Hi Phil, you are really clever! Did you attend a horticultural school?
Self taught, appreciate the complement!
@@earthnailsandtailsl am so glad l found you, and then l just had to subscribe. Even your oldest posts, when you first started out are inspiring & pretty special.
Thanks 🌱😀
If I'm going to use supplemental light do we still need to harden them when bringing them in for winter.
i dont think i understand your question
Do the garlics stay fresh for the full year until next harvest?
To my (very lacking) knowledge yes they will. As long as they are kept in a cool dry place they should be fine. I have seen many people hang it from their doorframe and it does well there. I have had a head that I have picked off for almost 5+ months now and it's still sitting strong
They can last quite a long time! Storing them in a cool dry place will help to keep them the longest. Harvesting them right before the stems snap and curing them properly will also help them last longer
Ist das der Elefantenknoblauch?
It is regular garlic!
