  • UPDATE: I had a jam that fried a motor due to being able to pull the trigger without revving the blaster... so I added the manual trigger lock back in. Details at • Update to the Nerf Ray...
    DISCLAIMER: My chronograph readings are likely very off, take those with a grain of salt. You can still tell when something hits hard by my giggling. And this thing hits VERY hard.
    Obviously I am excited, I suggest watching the first part at least haha. The mod guide part gets a little sketchy, but this was actually my first time modding a flywheel blaster that was actually a real one once. My other projects were all 3D printed and kits.
    What's inside!
    Daybreak Flywheels (Pair) × 2
    Daybreak Rayven 3D Printed Flywheel Cage 41MM
    Rayven Switch Mounting Plate 3d Printed (Ideal rev trigger switch placement)
    21A Microswitch (Genuine Omron)
    OOD Kraken 130 3s Neo Motors for Nerf Blasters
    5' Hobby Wire (16AWG)
    Lead-Free Solder Wire
    Other important bits!
    A 3S Lipo, the one picture is a Zippy compact 1000 35C series
    I use a RYOBI 18V ONE+ 45-Watt Hybrid Soldering Station
    I also use a HTRC-C240-DUO LiPo Charger Dual 1-6S Balance Battery Discharger AC150W DC240W 10A Smart Charger

      Haha, yup! Was probably early to be making a mod guide but it helped me learn and I’ve heard a few people say that seeing those mistakes along the way gave them some confidence haha!

      Oh! I am glad this was helpful! Did this one awhile ago, and I made a lot of mistakes as I went, not sure how smooth a guide it was, but happy for it to have helped you!

    Whats the point of the alarm? Im new to modding, but love the Rayven and hope to build this mod into mine when I get the tool

      Hey there! It’s a safety thing, LIPO batteries require some extra care, please check out this video from Out of Darts (I’d rather you received safety tips from a more knowledgeable source than me haha). Basically it’s an alarm to let you know when the charge is low, but there are some other things that are important to know :)

    Very late but how did u fit the battery in the stock tray? for me it was way too small to even consider. I also have a zippy compact 1000

      I did a bad thing and just made a space inside the shell so I could get some video and photos of it in sleeper mode haha. There are images of that late in this very long (sorry) video :)
      I printed an extended battery tray for practical use :)

    You should convert to short darts, you'll probably get into the 170 - 180 range.

      For sure, I kinda wanted this one to fire the cheapest and most common darts I have though haha.

      Don't short darts get lower FPS in Flywheels?

    • @maritimefoam
      @maritimefoam  2 роки тому

      @@Juan-nz1gu actually, yes, I think they usually do due to shorter contact time with the flywheels. That’s what happens in my DZP MK3

    • @Juan-nz1gu

      @@maritimefoam yup idk how Plunderkid got higher FPS in his,however short darts are definitely more accurate in Flywheels tho so I guess it's a fair trade?

    can i do this exact mod without the alarm? (new modder here)

    • @maritimefoam
      @maritimefoam  2 роки тому +1

      It’s important to get an alarm, they aren’t very expensive, check out out of darts. Alarms help avoid ruining your battery…. And fires… out of darts also has a LIPO safety video you should check out!
