Oh Hayley, your creative acumen and skills continue to astound me. What a fantastic production and story of your time with Cindy. Full marks to her for taking the trail on as a novice and I thank her for introducing the word ‘photocopy’ to my lexicon of profanities. It’s a real goody. Congratulations again on your unique ability to bring your audience along with you for your hikes.
This was so soothing to watch. Production was top notch and it felt more like a short documentary than a youtube video! Love the Cindy cam, good to know I'm not the only one blasting profanities to the earth.
Aww thank you! My filming/editing self is very happy to hear that! 😊 Hahah I can only imagine the profanities I missed out on while we were hiking separately 😂
Absolutely stunning trail and video, definitely added to the “One Day” list. Well done for getting out there and giving it a go, Cindy. Another incredible video, Hayley. Always in awe at your content
hahah I told her she doesn't need to bring a knife. She proceeded to bring a knife. 😝 I'm sure there would of been a selection of goodies inside that pack!
Go Cindy, I started hiking at 60, 2 years ago and seeing all Cindy’s beginner hiking angst makes me smile knowingly, my body! that stiffness. I love my hiking now. Yay that you have Hayley, my beginner hikes were all solo ones. I made so many mistakes 😂😂😂
This is just the best video and I relate to Cindy so much! She is an absolute legend and should totally be your spiritual MIL (even though it didn't work out).
Thanks Hayley for another fantastic video. As a 60 year old hiker I absolutely loved Cindy's contribution, I could really relate. I completed the Milford and Routeburn tracks in March and I'm pretty sure I used ALL the profanities OFTEN but now I can add photocopy to the list. Keep up the great work and I'll keep adding these hikes to my to do list.
Brilliant Hayley great story telling and fantastic footage awareness. As a seasoned crusty old hiker I love seeing your creativity in this space. Greta work. Think someone on main stream media should give you a go with a crew to do a getaway style show!
Hi, I'm a 58yo aussie lady just starting hiking and using some of your advice to get my gear together to keep things light. Seeing your future MIL and sites of NZ was fantastic to watch!!! Thankyou Cindy for the laughs!!! I'm a bum scooter too. ❤️ your films Hayley!
thanks Hayley, I really loved seeing the environment you and Cindy were hiking in. Loved, loved, loved Cindy, she is a classic (in the best way possible) and well done to her completing a 4 day hike as a beginner. Hayley, I also enjoyed you relaying the history of the trail. Thanks Lisa
I did this walk when i was 13 years old, Im now 54. it was awesome climbing up Panekirei bluff. its so much more user friendly now. We had to climb up rope ladders to get to the top
Thank you Hayley for this great adventure. Everyone should have a 'mother-in-law' just like Cindy. She made me laugh. I hope she does go out with you again. 😀
Hayley…. Thank you for sharing this. I have followed you on Instagram and got all the walks and hikes ideas from just watching you. I always love bushwalking. I do most half day and full day hikes, when I was younger i used to go jungle trekking in Sumatra. Now i am back on this outdoor activity again after I discovered your videos. Absolutely loving your content. Thank you again and have an awesome time 💚💚
Your series on NZ walks is killer. Helping me with my wish list of future walks! Hadnt really consided Lake Waikaremoana before. Out of interest, you should check out the 'Around the Mountain Circuit'. Its not a 'great walk of NZ', but its meant to be really good. 4 to 5 days around Mt Taranaki including an acent if you wanted to. Did the Mt summit a few years ago but didnt know about the circuit at the time. P.s. - Cindy is a legend
Thank you! 🙏 I'm hoping to hibernate this winter so I can catch up on NZ video editing! Thanks for this suggestion, I absolutely loved the whole volcanic area of Tongariro so i'm sure I'd love it. I'm putting together a list of some more NZ hikes on my next visit so i'll add this!
LOL! TO POSITIVE.Hiking with Cindy ,what a crack up.Especially the background music made it funnier.Good on u Cindy 👍 up to u doing that hike.I have been watching the channel for a while n I love your work keep it up.Lots of peace and love from a huge fan of the channel.
What a beautiful walking trail! Everything was so green & luscious (OK, & a little muddy 😂), & the waterfall was stunning! Go Cindy!! A lovely video as always Hayley, thank you 😎
Thank you!! 😊 You can tell the area has no shortage of land hydration!! I am very glad I got to see the waterfall, it was so wide! Thank you as always for watching 😊
I had booked to do this hike a few years ago with my daughter, but like you Hayley we had to cancel due to a terrible weather pattern. You have re-inspired me to do it but this time it might be solo.
Awesome video! I used to tramp around the Lake as a teenager, and we had a trio of teachers who ran it in one day! Brought back some great memories. Good to see that the huts and tracks have been upgraded and to hear about the kiwi recovery effort. Thanks (and Cindy is a trooper - loved the "squashedway"!)
haha thank you! Do you mean the Day 1 A to B part? All of it is text within Final Cut Pro. Except the map line is drawn in Photoshop then i've exported each mini line separately to stack on top of each other (kind of stop motion style animation) :)
This was a hilarious video, this is the same things that happens when I take my non hiking mates out, (either walk alone or with slow people for me) 😂 The "definitely not me calculating how our slow pace is gonna affect us on the long days 😐😐😐" is every time I'd stop 😂
haha normally id prefer slow people considering I stop every 2 seconds to film but I must of had a lot of energy on that hike 😛 It's funny you quote that part because I was almost going to cut it out, but you are the second person to mention it! 😂
Haha honestly she hated it and still hated it months after finishing, I really should of had a camera strapped to her for her full negativity haha but, I think she is just starting to appreciate now what she did. That and i'm single again 😂 Thanks for watching!! ❤️
@@settohike nawww, she did so well!! 💓 I've been watching you for a long time now and I absolutely love your content! I'm glad you are being true to your own heart. 💖 Only ever marry the best person for you. 😊 I'm a Kiwi Nana tramper in my late 60s and I'm aiming to do Te Araroa Trail next year, summer of 25/26. Currently training and saving.😅 I absolutely LOVE getting out in the bush and by the water 💦. Keep up your amazing journeys! 🥰🌿🙆🏻♀️🚶🏻♀️🏕️
Gosh, you beat me I live in Rotorua, Well done to you ladies, really enjoyed this episode. By the way, have you done "Pacific Crest Trail" if not would you plan to do that? 👍🤩 MARAUITI - MA-ROO-EE-TEE In winter it snows above that elevation...
Hey Hayley, nice vid and seemed like a fun adventure. I found your channel to learn about load lifter straps then ended up watching a few vids. Good stuff. The voice over works well you've inspired me to try some different techniques in my vids. Check it out for some south Island wilderness goodness. Hikers out 🏞️🏕️👌🏽
Oh wow....hiking with a potential mum in law. Very brave, but you got a comedy routine out of it! Now that I've enjoyed the laughs I need watch it again and actually focus on the track! How would you rate it against the other great walks? I've read comments that it's great"ish" but not great.
Hahah yes I was pretty happy to have 2 storylines going for this video. One for Cindy and one for the track! I actually really liked the track and think it's very deserving of being a great walk in terms of the actual hike and what you see. (You can tell that some of the signs need a bit of a facelift) I also heard that people think the Panekire Hut is run down but coming from Australia any hut in New Zealand is a cool novelty 😂 I am more of a lake/river girl than ocean so that persuades me a bit though. I did like it better than the Rakiura great walk!! 😊
4days,That's too much for the eldery, glad she didn't broke the bone.Go for a walk for a little while is better for the new Anyways she's so strong at this age.
@settohike Some have amazing views from a seated position, but never peak down the hole with your head torch on. Any derelict dunny is much better than finding turd and TP on a track.
Cindy was everything I needed (that I didn't know I needed) in my reconnaissance from the couch. How thoroughly classic. :)
hahah! Couches make exceptional vantage points 😉
Oh Hayley, your creative acumen and skills continue to astound me. What a fantastic production and story of your time with Cindy. I can still see it, the misty rain, cold fingers. Then out it comes the piercing word 'photocopy' 😛 Thank you Mike!! 😊
I'm more of an aspiring hiker than an actual hiker so I really relate to Cindy. What a great video as always
She did comment after that if she can do it anyone can! Thank you for watching 😊
Loved it, Cindy is awesome.
Awesome hike girls! And funny!
This was so soothing to watch. Production was top notch and it felt more like a short documentary than a youtube video!

If only the cameras were rolling at all times 😂
Absolutely stunning trail and video, definitely added to the “One Day” list. Well done for getting out there and giving it a go, Cindy. Another incredible video, Hayley. Always in awe at your content
Gotta give up for the old bag! She had a pack on her back that you could fit half of Bunnings and Aldi in and she still took it on: RESPECT!!
hahah I told her she doesn't need to bring a knife. She proceeded to bring a knife. 😝 I'm sure there would of been a selection of goodies inside that pack!
@@settohike judging by some of the side eye shade she was throwing your way I would have hid that knife on the first opportunity available.
I really love how you have captured the beauty of my home 😭❤
at least she agreed knowing it was for 4 days, thats a good effort for starters

Awesome video Hayley and a super gutsy move! Hiking with your potential MIL is amazing. Well done.
Lovely and well done. Beautiful area...
It was beautiful indeed especially with the sun shining on the water! Thank you! 😊
Pleeaasssee have Cindy in future videos! She is so funny. Great video, Hayley
Hahah I don't think I could convince her to join in on any more hikes but maybe something else hike related 😂
😂
Thanks for sharing such a well produced and entertaining video. Well done Cindy. 👍
Thanks so much 😊 Cindy will be happy you said that haha
Awesome video and very well done to Cindy.
Thanks Carl! It was certainly an experience for both of us 😛
Hayley dude! This one is so good! Love the chill spirit in you! Also very well done, Cindy!

Haha i'll put it to her, see if she wants a career change 😛

Great video again Hayley! Just across the lake is Mount Manuoha. Quieter and even more spectacular Goblin forest. It is a nice two day loop.
