Haha I 100% hated hiking and camping when I had to do it at school. Now it's become a goal of mine. I've been doing the hiking, and the camping, but now I have to combine the 2.
haha its funny how that happens. I used to read every night and love it, then once I started high school and was forced to study random books, I rarely read now. You are 2/3 of the way done! 😄
Thanks for the Q&A! Great to see your dedication to building Set To Hike and always enjoy watching the content you create. Some amazing hikes and areas to explore in the list you mentioned too! Just got back today from thru-hiking the Grampians Peaks Trail which was fantastic and as tough as I expected it to be!
Oh wow! I was kind of hoping to do the Grampians peaks trail in November but I feel like November will creep up on me before I get a chance to think about it! Haha. That’s amazing! You sure are ticking off all the long ones! You would of had some pretty chilly mornings!
Another USA National Park to consider visiting is Rocky Mountain NP in Colorado. I recently got home from spending 5 days in that Park where I hiked over 60 km. It's a beautiful Park.
I'll add it to the list!! When my friend and I were originally planning our trip to America, I dont think that was on the trip list. It sounds like you had a lovely time! :D
Aww thank you. Yeah I've been to Rotoroa as well its an awesome little town! I just moved house in New Zealand so now there are some new backgrounds to choose from haha
Only recently found your channel and in my opinion it's the best hiking video channel on UA-cam. Filming and editing is first rate and best wishes for your aim of developing your channel. For what it's worth, I personally don't like music during narration but it's good to have otherwise if suits the mood. Great work!
I'm doing Outdoor Education this year at school and am loving it too. I even get a chance to do the Freycinet circuit which I can't wait for. Also, I love your dedication to this channel so thank you 😁
Aww thats so awesome to hear!! :D Oh wow! I hope you get perfect weather for Freycinet! I never filmed that hike when I did it, so just means I have to do it again hehe. Thanks for watching 😌
Hi. I just found your channel. I'm wrighting this from Germany as we are on vacation. My wife and I live in Southcentral Texas. We were both in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and have been around this blue marble a few times (5 of 7 continents for me and 4 for wife.) We were stationed in Iceland for 2 years (where we met) and still have friends there. Let us know when you are ready for the USA and we can help you out. Not as big as Australia but Texas alone is bigger than all of Europe. Takes 2 days to drive across Texas. We have tent camped, Hammock camped and caravan camps for several years. Looking forward to more of your vids. Our photo is from Arches National Park, Moab, Utah.
Just a half baked idea, but maybe you could do a documentary on U.S. national parks (those of interest to you)? I'm a university professor and I do research at U.S. national parks. Generally, I come up with a research idea, submit it to a Park, they approve it, and I go and do it (of course it requires hiking!). The Park gives me free admission, I bypass all of the required entry permits, and often they give me free housing in the Park. It also checks boxes with my job, but that's not relevant to you. If you could tie your documentary to something research related (litter in the Parks, trail overuse, crowd size, wildlife encounters with people, invasive species, etc.) that would probably work. The U.S. Parks LOVE it when people do research in them; maybe that's a government requirement or something.
Wow thats definitely some food for thought there! My friend Matt is doing his PHD on deer and how they are effecting weed growth in our national parks. I gotta save up again for my America trip so I could make a doco plan in the meantime haha
Thank you for sharing your answers. Especially to a select few 😉 It might be because im a photographer but I HATE editing lol. Also being a strick solo hiker I do struggle with boredom. So thanks for the tips. I've also heard lots of horror stories of relationships breaking down on the trail. I guess it just depends on the person. Keep up the absolutely amazing work. Always look forward to your videos
Haha yeah editing photos would be much harder to stay concentrated being so still and all :P ooof that would be quite sad having a relationship break down because of hiking! but you're right it definitely depends on the person! Thank you!! Hopefully I can close the gap a bit of my videos being so far between one another.
HAYLEY: FWIW, I was planning on taking kiteboarding lessons in the spring or summer of 2020. The *CHINESE MEXICAN BEER VIRUS* put the kibosh on those plans...🤦♂️

Loving your trips Hayley👍 have you thought about a video on the equipment you use for editing your videos? Do you have one already?🧐

I recommend the Everest region, out of Kathmandu. It was in 1996 but I'll never forget it.
You should definitely add the Dusky Track in NZ to your list. It's the best hike I've done in my life!
Ooo I’ll have to look it up! Cheers!
Hi. Thankyou for that. You're an inspiration. My son went to Rotoroa years ago. He said it was great.
Btw, I love the wooden stairs behind you.
Aww thank you. Yeah I've been to Rotoroa as well its an awesome little town! I just moved house in New Zealand so now there are some new backgrounds to choose from haha

I see you doing a few stretches when you get into camp after a day’s hiking. Could you please run through which ones you do and why? Thanks.

Thanks so much for your videos. They are great!
HAYLEY: Regarding your family's view on camping, my Mom always joked her idea of 'roughing it' was _"An RV with black & white television."_ 😉
Haha that is certainly roughing it, especially the black and white tv ;)
@@settohike >>> 👍😊
Aww Germany is waiting for you!!
