I first visited Koh Phi Phi back in 1994 almost 30 years ago.. an absolute beautiful place with just a handful of tourists.
How times have changed...looks like my worst nightmare now 😢
It's crazy for me to see it like this, as well. I was there in 2020, during the height of Covid. Thailand's borders were closed, and the island was deserted. Only 3-4 bars on the whole island were open!
If you stay at Saii Phi Phi resort with its private beach it is not crowded and very peaceful, even in peak season.
We have just booked again for the second time this year, love Phi Phi :)
They got Mcdonalds now ...
Over the years it’s becoming more and more expensive and crowded. But still it’s a very beautiful island. Thank you Chris, nice video 👌💯
Great video as ever. We were due to stay on Koh Phi Phi Dec 2022. After watching numerous videos and taking advice from the comments we decided to cancel the accommodation and only visit for the day. There wasn’t much accommodation available and we were lucky to find what we did. Accommodation was very expensive and they seem to be charging premium prices. The island was still rebuilding after Covid and was basically a building site. We did however visit for a few hours whilst doing an island hoping tour. I believe we made the right decision. We plan to return next year and will stay for three nights which will give us two whole days to do trips and soak up the atmosphere on the beach and in town. Keep up the good work and I hope Gladys is feeling better. 🍻
Can i ask where did you stay after cancelling koh phi phi

Hi Chris love your videos, coming over for the first time in October if I like it I’m thinking of a longer stay maybe a month. Around songcrat sorry about the spelling lol, looking forward to the los.😊
Great video Chris. Thanks for the information you give, very helpful. Our granddaughter is going travelling with her partner so I passed your vids on to her. Hope Gladys is better. See you later 👍✌️
i found koh phi phi a lot more expensive than phuket. especially acommendation and food. still a very beautiful island and a must visit
phuket is runned by a group of guys who control the vendors taxis and shops i dont like it anymore you cant enjoy the beach without some one trying to sell you something
i visit phi phi in 2013 for a day trip i come back in 2019 stays for 5 days and phi phi is paradise
no cars no bikes only walking island with beautiful views thank u for share
Wow amazing! Thanks for sharing that!
Keep up the great content Bro Chris 😊
Chris I dont know if you remember me but last year in june to july to august I always watched your thailand videos to give me an idea of what it would be when i go.
Your videos are so entertaining and you deserve view increase I hope you go to london i love your videos and enjoy them so much!
Stayed in Kho phi phi in 2013 ,it was beautiful and a dream destination.
Went back in 2017 .it was very full and busy and had lost its charm .
I was there in '03, i want to go back but im guessing itll be very subpar compared to then
Same here, first in 2012 then 2014,16,19. Each time I returned it lost some of it charm and yet I enjoyed there except the last time, when I decided not to come back anymore. Too crowded, too much tourist trap kinda feel. Parties lost their vibe also. I feel sorry for thia once paradise of an island. But note there are other alternatives.
I was there in 2013 so amazing beautiful beaches and food
@@meni2410près de Phuket ?
@@gorjupgregory6367 koh lipe. You won't regret.
Been traveling to Thailand since 2012. It’s always been crazy crowded on Phi Phi. Nothing’s changed.
Not always....back in 1995 there were no hotels, not many people, and not developed. Electricity was on only part of the day. It was quiet with nothing but bungalows...
Wow there is so much more to Thailand than Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. You make a lot of unique content bro. Great video!
He’s a jaggoff.
How long do you think he can stay for?? 😂😂. He’s got other countries to visit
no sht
I stayed on Phi Phi in 1994. No big hotels there then. 60b a night for a bamboo hut set back off the beach, with just a handful of restaurants.
Now many years after that he film the beach, phi phi has evolved into a monster. 7-11, Burger King, Mc Donald’s, and weed shops. Such a shame
Was last there in 2016, looks like it's changed a lot. It was busy then but looks like a tourist trap, I do not remember the coastline littered with boats like that!
I'm shocked. I first went to Ko Phi Phi in 2001... the main pier was made of wood and only a handful of boats came per day. Boats were not allowed in the other bay, which was exclusively for swimming. I remember clearly being in that bay at sundown with my boyfriend, surrounded by colorful fish. So sad to see the island the way it is now!
I even serching for old videos and liking it
I’m so happy to see all your videos hi from Fresno
It's like on Koh Larn, and I'm sure other small islands. once the last ferry goes back to the Bali Hai pier in Pattaya, it's more quite. And going out for some drinks and live music is great - last couple of times I went with friends I'm almost certain we were the only farang at the bar and they're quite lively places.
Luv your videos ❤❤❤❤
Postcards are awesome. I'm just a new member. Hopefully I'll be sending folks postcards from paradise in the near future.
24:00 absolute calm water
Love the video Chris. I came to Phi Phi Islands last year, crazy how busy it was around midday.
I did the day trip tour and it was very rushed. It’ll be nice to come back for a few nights and actually enjoy it with less tourists. Cheers bro. Loving all your videos. 👍👍
Thanks a lot bro, I appreciate the love big time!
Dearest Chris... Absolutely horrendous.. sorry for the comment. I visited _Ko Phi Phi_ in 1992.
Massive tourism destroys the natural beauty of the place. NO-GO place for me. It reminds me of what happened to that also famous "The Beach" ... beach. Finally the authorities stepped in.
You take care, John #NZ
When you went for a beer, where did you left bags, are you don't afraid to be stolen? How did you booked apartment on island, when you get there or previous?
What's with talking in the high pitched voice ? When you raise the tone of your voice at the end of a sentence it implies a question. For some reason you do it 50% of the time and it sounds like all your statements are questions.
I loved Phi Phi Island! I stayed right at the end of Long Beach in an amazing resort called - Phi Phi The Beach Resort -
I have seen Kiwi so much in your videos he's like your step brother now 😅 what's your favorite dinosaur? Or if you're going to make a music video on a boat 😂
Thank you Chris very much indeed. My wife & I are looking at visiting Thailand but not sure how to go about it so am very happy that you're holding our hands giving us your suggestions et al.

Thank you for the tips man! I was definitely not sure if I should stay for a few days in phi phi when i go to Phuket but now I’m sure. I’ll definitely stay 3-4 days ! Keep up the great work man! 💪🏻
Yes definitely stay at least two nights bro! Hope you enjoy it!
@@Travelwithchris may I ask, which hotel did you stay? I’m looking for something close to the pier. Thank you!
@@kendryvega1947you want to stay at Ton Sai beach area. If you stay elsewhere you will be taking a boat for 150baht per person each way to Ton Sai whenever you want to shop or eat at a restaurant or withdraw cast or to take a boat to nearby attractions like maya bay or bamboo island.
Damn the dude ran down to get the shirt in your size! Honest kid!
And you gave him 400! Good man!
Was there 25 years ago and man how it's changed.. Was brilliant back then
I have been following your channel for a long time. I am happy that the number of views has increased... I hope you travel to new places like East Africa, Zanzibar, etc.
Yes. Mombasa in Kenya is absolutely wonderful with some of the nicest, kindest humans I have ever come across.
I got food poisoning in Phi Phi last year. I prefer to visit from Ao Nang and take the 4 island tour. Wow that place is packed. I was there right when the mask mandate was removed.
I can confirm Chris sends out postcards to us channel members. Thx Chris. The gifts are a nice touch and really appreciated. 😎
Thanks a lot brother! I'm so happy that you enjoy the cards I send out! You'll have another again soon! Sent it out last week!
Great! I'm so happy 😊
You are absolutely right Chris, i did a day tour to Phi Phi in May and although it was a fantastic tour i do wish i was there longer. I am however coming back to Thailand next week. 😊
Have an amazing time in Thailand! Definitely stay a few night next time! You won't regret it!
@@Travelwithchris You should go to Bali, thats where i am going for 1 month after Thailand. Thanks for the recommendation and Keep up the great work Chris, love the videos as always.
Hi Chris, I’m deciding to check out phi phi for the first time since 2020 in a few weeks, do you still recommend going? Seems jam packed with tail boats and tourists 😅
I looove this guy!
Next time I will stay 2 nights thanks bro , also mentionin your videos where should we stay..🏠🏖️😎
Yes absolutely! Its a great island if you stay!
Can you please tell me the dates that you were in Phuket. I’m in Thailand now and want to see how recent this video and the Phuket videos are. Mainly because the weather looks amazing and we both know it’s wet season. Thanks
Hi! Did u make a decision yet? I am currently in Vietnam and doubting to visit phuket this weekend because of this videos
You can still get days like this in the rainy season.
I went backpacking here in 2018 in my early 20's for 2/3weeks and there were no boats in the harbour apart from the ferry taking people there and back twice aday. Great night life
Bro I'm in Koh Phi Phi now an I love it here. It is absolutely beautiful. Love the vlog Chris your the man.
Good thing I don’t drink beers 🍻
In your opinion do you recommend Phett or Pataya Moore for a two week vacation?
LOVE IT! - Have you thought about Australia?
Yes!!! That was the first country that I ever visited during my travels and I'm dying to go back!
@@Travelwithchris I am going to need to check that out. I have been watching since you went to El Salvador. How do you think your Australia trip would be different this time not that you are an experienced youtuber?
Ok just started the video and my 2 cents on our experience there ... although beautiful, we saw sewage being pumped into the bay, the volume of boats (and oil and noise) was disturbing and unappealing. The other side is much quieter but we also saw a lot of garbage over there. Ok finished the video and it's a lot better without the people and boats
if you need a doctor or go to the hospital, what do you do? thanks for the honesty :). nice video.
I always spent my times at the long beach, just walk long way from you stay now but night time you can take the long tailed boat back.
I need to go check that out!
Went there on 2018! watching your videos make me want to wake up there tomorrow!....
Just stumbled upon your channel. I've been to Phi Phi in 2017 and thinking of going in 2024. Never been to Koh Phangan for full moon party. Is Phi Phi better? Wanna do Full moon party but wondering if its TOO MUCH party. I'll be there with my 16 year old daughter. Is it prettier than Phi Phi and more natural things to do or is it just a party place? Just subscribed. Mahalo from Hawaii!
Koh Phi Phi is a million times better! Koh Samui is also great, Koh Phangan in my opinion is my least favorite island
Hey Chris,Whatsup bro?hope you & gladys have a wonderful stay at Thailand.
I’m from Johor Bahru,South Malaysia.
May I know how to be a member?hope to see you both soon in Johor Bahru,Malaysia.
All the video you make very nice way you treat to the people your great person
I really wish I hadn’t already booked all my hotels/resorts and flights for my Thailand trip in November. I always hear how Phuket is the most expensive place in Thailand so I am only staying 3 nights before heading to Chiang Mai. I would love to stay at Koh Phi Phi. Didn’t realize it was cheaper than Phuket.
You will love Chiang mai. There are so many good places in Thailand, that’s why so many of us keep coming back. Phuket is a little expensive for Thai standards but we had an awesome time there on a budget, forget Patong, try to check out Ya Nui beach!
@@jomartian Too late I'm already staying at Patong, going to Bangkok, Samui, Phuket, Ko Phi Phi, Chiang Mai for Yi Peng lantern festival, and Pattaya.
Awesome content! We just booked out hotels this past week in Koh phi phi and after watching your videos I’m certain I made the right choice 💫🏝❤! Can’t wait to experience it for myself! Thanks so much!
❤. Wow quite a busy beach
Is that the phi phi islands? Cant wait for a post card bro
Yes!!! Hope you receive one soon bro!
Mitch is red like a lobster aiii
Edit: I'm gonna eat that bad boy later' ahahahaha
Thing with the postcards is so sweet:)))
It's ruined.... 😢 I was on this island over 25 years ago. And what it is now it's not worth visiting.
When I was there you could go to either beach. There was no town! Just a few shops.
It's horrible.
hello, could you recommend the best destinations for a couple to relax in december in thailand, phi phi island is still a good option at that time or do you recommend another place? as long as it is easily accessible because we have few days and we will fly to bangkok thank you
Koh lipe. The best island, reminded me of old koh phiphi
I stayed in Koh phi phi for 1 week at .... 1993 !! It was a different place, and what I see here doesn't make me want to go back at all. Back then, there weren't all these paved alleys, the streets were made of sand and what can I say about this horrible boulevard, these Macdo's, or Burgerking. Disgusting!!!
So it seems that everything has been done to please tourists, whereas 30 years ago the island was mainly full of backpackers.
There weren't as many hotels, but mostly bungalows, and very few boats in the bay in the afternoon or morning! In the evening I remember that there were 2 very good bars where there was good live music!
In short, it was a different place with a different atmosphere!
Koh phi phi has lost its soul, what a shame, what a waste !
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Paradijse lost for ever!!!
Amazing vlog as always Chris watching your vlog is an inspiration to make our channel even better and because of your vlogs we have booked to go to Thailand 🇹🇭

350 baht is quite expensive .U keep saying its cheap. As far as i know Thailand is no more cheap. To white people who come from US.,UK and Europe its cheap.. And I dont think the island is that great.

I stayed on the backside, at Bakao Bay . Unfortunately there is a big resort there that takes up most of the beach.
Oof, I was so confused at first of where you could possibly be on phi phi with that many boats and not seeing Ao Ton Pier, lol I always stay on the other side when I go more towards Dalum beach
Cool Videos. I like the uncut lenght of your Vlogs. It's so natural and real
You should check out Surin Beach if you're back in Patong

to be fair 350thb$10 is not much for a shirt but i saw when he held it up it was super thin and the buy them for $1 from china/vietnam

@@Travelwithchrismurder island! Careful bro!
the crowded beaches. It's good that there is high tourism but it's also bad.
If you drink a lot of beer anywhere it gets very expensive 😅
Hello Chris, do you think you can let us know where the toilets are how far they are from the beach or do they have them in the restaurants, toilets in Bangla Road? All that drinking you need a bathroom!
The only toilets are found in the restaurants! We bought a drink and would use the bathroom when we had to go!
100 thb for daily chair rental there in Phi Phi is pretty good. I usually pay 100 on Monkey Beach on Koh Larn
The best island in Thailand by far
Yes!!!
Are there other areas on Koh phi phi with better beaches that may be a 15 min walk or so
I pay $30 bucks in the town I live in. 1 omelette hash browns English muffins 1 glass orange juice and tip = $35 bucks.
Another place 3 tacos a drink $16 bucks .
That's cheap sorry guys .my rent is $1100 gas is $5:30 gal should I go on
