5:45 : That's portuguese for "big curve", which admittedly doesn't make sense either because it isn't even the biggest curve in the circuit 😊
Rainier Wolfcastle: "That is the joke"
I think we Brazilians name racetracks in honor of Senna as much as North Americans name schools for JFK.
One of the airports in New York is named in honour of JFK as well
Or roads after Martin Luther King Jr.
I took a steer around the circuit in AMS2. The designers really said “how many curved braking zones do we want?” and settled on almost all of them!
Love these videos Rhys
If you have "ão" at the end of a word in Portuguese, it means big (the opposite of "inho" which means small, as many football fans would know)
So this corner would be called big corner in English, or Curva Grande in Italian - oh would you look at that! 😁
Everybody gangsta until ronaldao and gervao pull up
So if the circuit of Portimao had a kart track, should it be called Portiminho?
@@TrolledBy it definitely should! 😀
@@TrolledByOr Portimãozinho, just to confuse you even further 😂 That "-zinho" at the end conveys the idea of "small", because the "-ão" is part of the place name
Curvão = Big Turn
It doesn't even is the biggest turn in the track! That's madness!
I would like to se a Slightly Serious Showcase to Velo Città or Circuito dos Cristais (Both present at Automobilista)
Circuito dos Cristais is probably the most nothing track I ever seen. I still need to drive in it though. Also cmon Velo Citta is a cool track better than Londrina easily
In spanish we have "curvon", which we use it in corners where you keep turning for a while (like pouhon for example), I assume in portuguese is the same and it have nothing to do with the size of the corner itself
i stewarded a rookie split Brazil stock car race on this track once, it was the single most carnage i've ever seen in a sim.
The Londrina Chicane is why Rhys's arm is the way it is
Linguiça calabresa!... hahaha (lol). Caixa d´água, because that blue and white structure (like a Q-Tip) beside the curve is a water tower. Excellent analysis by the way!
I ran a series with modified hatchbacks on this layout, their relative lack of speed in comparison to the Stock Cars made the track workable. I actually quite like the first chicane.
I'm from a neighbouring city to Londrina, so I'm positively surprised that you're taking on this track. Great work as always
"The apex comes at you as quickly as 'whataboutist' comments when you criticize Formula 1 for racing in any one country with a poor record for human rights or press freedoms". That was a perfect 3 pointer! Absolute gold!
Love it, the curve is called curve
I tried out this layout in Formula 3 in AMS. It was fun when you got it right, but getting it right is more of an accident than something you do intentionally.
That's Raidillon, actually
4:08 - Yes, WAIT! Is that a Logitech K200?!?
6:16 - To be fair, The Esses also apparently had two name "versions", one being "S du Tertre Rouge"(Tertre Rouge Esses) or "S de la forét"(Forest-Esses), and the first part also had the addition of "descente de la chapelle"(Chapel-Drop/Decline).
But yes, effectively they simply stay "The Esses" :D
Possibly the best series to date on UA-cam!
Please Rhys, make a super serious track guide on Autodromo Eduardo Copello (El Zonda), in Argentina, I can only dream of what you'll have to say about this gem of a track, just give it a look and let it speak for itself lmao!
I downloaded this track for Assetto Corsa after watching your video, and I have to say, you were spot on with pretty much everything
Driving on this track under soaking wet conditions in Automobilista 2 is definitely...an experience. It's everything said in this video + you can't see anything. 10/10 would not recommend to my worst enemy.
5:45 writing this phoneticly in polish gives:
*Kurwał*
Which sounds like combination of two words: *kurwa* (self explanatory) and *wał* meaning basically idiot, someone stupid and Slow (!)
Wał comes from "wałek" word for (kitchen) roller.
Accidentally this world is ideal for me: big slow curve. Maybe big Brasilia's Polonia tried to influence the naming convention of the turns there 😅
The famous racetrack: "Laundry nah."
Man, how much work do you put in that video?
It‘s pretty amazing!
That spine bit was so good
Daytona Roval would be a good candidate for this series
Almost: ua-cam.com/video/j89OynL_wk0/v-deo.html
Nah Daytona Road is a good track
i sometimes wonder if any sims have wakefield park raceway.
maybe even marulan up the road?
You can get Wakefield for AC!
My spine bit me laughing so hard
Can you do a Super Serious Guide on the old Vancouver Indy Car circuit? We Canadians are long overdue to get crapped on.
Canada, at least racetrack wise, is one of the most blessed countries on earth. Mont Tremblant, Mosport, Montreal, even the Toronto Exhibition Place Street circuit is great! Even the defunct Edmonton Airfield circuit was amongst the best airfield circuits in the world! The only real duds are Vancouver (both layouts. I agree with you on that) and Sanair.
Show more of our brazilian tracks, and, ''curvão'' it's a big curve in portuguese, not only curve
I am so happy that one my country shitiest race tracks it's gonna be on the Super Serious Track Guides
they're proper Linguiças Calabresa. LOL XD
"UUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRGH MMMMYYYYYY SPIIIIIIIIINNNNNEEEEEEEEEEE"- Rhys 2022
6:21 Lime Rock does that too.
I came here after an hour of trying to figure out how to take that damn turn 1
"I've never been able to figure out a line through here"
😥
Also I would loved if you can do the other two tracks from my state Curitiba and Cascavel. Trust me they are mich better than Londrina. Also the first corner is called Estadio or Stadium in english because the Estadio do Cafe, the Londrina FC stadium is right alongside T1
Curitiba circuit don't exist anymore
@@neurimenezes2086 I know. This was a fun track to be and drive when it existed
When the acting kicks in... brill mate!
wow
amazing video
I fucking love these so much
I died at “OHHHHHHHH MY SPINE”.
You've gotta do Knockhill (glorified kart track) and Snetterton (the 7th circle of hell)
This is brilliant!
Hey another Super Serious Track guide
challenge : add a chicane to every f1 circuit from the 2022 calendar
good Cutaways.
That was such a cromulent video.
Lol forever!!!! Perfect dude!!!!
The Esses:
Suzuka, Mount Panorama, and Watkins Glen:
And Le Mans and Interlagos (Senna S) and Riverside (RIP) and the Nürburgring GP course (Michael Schumacher S) and probably some more I can't think of right now
Previous SSTG: That one was the best
*Watches this* GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Curvão means big curve
The Curve name Curve. How original.
Please do one on jarama
Interlagos has an S with sets of curves 1, 2 and 3 with the name O "S" of Senna
Watched during the Monaco rain red flag. Yay!
how is it off-camber if the inside is lower than the outside?
You think that Curvao is bad? There are too many rivers in the world still called 'Avon'
I acttually like this track! The full version though, the chicane is bad. I'm including the first chicane and the pit entry chicane that I cut every time because I'm sooooooo tired of it.
How to fix a race track, Monaco?
banana :)
who’s here because Monaco is red flagged
I'm here because the n24 has finished
I'm here because everything's finished (except the Coca Cola 600 because who the fuck cares about NASCAR).
@@mitchell-wallisforce7859 lots of people don’t be a child
Come on, puebla is good
more like longdrina
Possibly the best series to date on UA-cam!
