- I was really impressed with this new line set cleaning tool. Using a pig to clean piping is not new but Hilmor has made this process very simple and effective with this new tool!

Pigs have been used in the oil and gas industry for probably more than a century. The first pigs were made out of straw ,barbwire and leather and when sent through the Pipeline it made an eerie squealing noise , much like a pig and that’s how it got its name. Pig technology has definitely changed over the years. Now we have something called smart pig technology which not only cleans the pipeline but also inspects the pipeline for integrity , thickness , imperfections and cathodic protection. So it may be new to the air conditioning and refrigeration industry but I assure you it is something that’s been around for a very long time.

Oh my gosh. I have to get one of those. I love the Hilmor stuff. I have the hydraulic swaging kit and the tube bender. They are both excellent tools.

i would love to see a video with a practical display of what happens with a kinked lineset. that would be a great lesson to give to apprentices.
I was impressed it went three the link on the demonstration.
I have some contractors use the pipe wiper brand there dole pretty bad spots just fine.
If it doesn't make it out, the lineset would need to be replaced anyway.
@@love2hvac i dont meant the product, i meant it as something you might see in the field and what a kinked lineset does to a system in operation. showing why kinks are bad is better then just saying they are.
One of the tools from AHR that I’m very interested in, I’ll probably be getting this kit soon, I hate using R11
when you do let me know the pros and cons. nothing beats field testing.

I was impressed. At the HVAC Symposium they made another one with a ton of 90's and u bends and they where blowing them threw one after another

3:19 He whips out a wad of money and say's you want to gamble, I can gamble. LMFAOOOOOOOOO. However! You can just buy the pigs as they call it, and just use 4300-51 Flush Gun and do the exact same thing.

For sure, the idea of cleaning lines with pigs has been around for a very long time. Pipe wiper had been making a refregerant lineset cleaner for a long time.
3 things I like
1st it's marketed for HVAC so hopefully we can get some cleaner systems and less flush and other contaminants.
2nd it's easy to to use with the quick connect system.
3rd.thenpigs they designed are built better than others. They are made to go threw kinks and use 2 kinds of material for just the right combination.
Many way to get a job done. Your like me always thinking of another way. I like that.

I have a flush kit like everyone else does. I could simple just buy the pig kits and just use that period. put it into the line set, hook up kit to the nitrogen tank pull the trigger same thing.
All fine and dandy until you come across a line set with multiple kinks not known.
Sonata the HVAC training Symposium, they made another display with multiple kinks and it pushed right threw like they where not there.
On the other hand, with the severity of the kinks there is no way they system would work correctly.
I think I would prefer it get stuck in the kink myself so I know the lineset had a major restriction. But unfortunately they squeeze right threw the kinks.
